Hidden gem in a strip mall in Dunmore, PA. Dunkin does a good job of making this strip mall a cluster for entrance and exit but it's worth the trouble to get some very good Thai when the mood strikes. The spice level is perfect in my opinion but might be considered on the spicier side of medium to high spice level. Spent about $30 on shrimp and scallop hibachi combo. There were only 4 scallops and they were tough and rubbery. Rest of meal was average at best. Not as good as other hibachi in the area. Delicious. We ordered sushi rolls, Thai and crispy tangy chicken (orange chicken) and it was all excellent. My family enjoyed all the dishes and I even liked the boba tea! We ate here for lunch a few weeks ago while visiting some friends in Scranton. Their lunch portions are small, so get dessert or the entree portion. I had the tofu pad see ew and an Almond Bubble Tea. Bubble tea was way too sweet, but their balls were soft and squishy. ¡Me gusta! My noodles were oily but tasty nonetheless. The restaurant has more of a diner feel, but it's clean, quiet, and makes you forget that you're eating in a strip mall. The bathroom is cold so bundle up ladies! Definitely one of the few restaurants in town that I always agree to visit whenever someone suggests it. The prices are fair, the service is attentive, and the food is fantastic. I always order sushi & seaweed salad, but also love the Veggie Thai Curry Broth with Egg Noodles - five stars!! They get pretty busy during peak hours, but I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table. This hidden gem in Dunmore is one of my favorite places to dine. The Kani salad is excellent. The hibachi is delicious, with generous portions. The tempura shrimp is the best I've ever had. The Tom Yum Kung is perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. My relatives also come here weekly for either the sushi or hibachi and love trying some new dishes occasionally. The ambiance lends itself to both special date nights or family gatherings. Went here with a friend of mine on 8/1 for some absolutely mind-blowing meals! If I lived closer, I'd probably be addicted (and broke, haha). All the food we ordered were downright amazing and some of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. The Vietnamese salad was amazing! The Red Oil Dumplings is one of my favorites, really out of this world. And no, I'm not exaggerating anything. Yellow curry was delicious! Has that mild sweetness, but also the amazing thai flavor. The fajita with duck meat was a little too salty, but still something I haven't tried before. Had a very unique flavor and was really addicting. I'd give you double the five stars if I could. I think it the best Thai food now in Scranton area. It is a little more pricy than some of the other places downtown but have not been disappointed yet. Except I did get the duck tacos once and they were not as good as place I went to in Vegas the week before but I should have expected that. read more

And it has 3 plus stars. I only went to this other place cuz very close to where I was. Well, never again. The sushi and hibachi and soups soooo great at Sushi & Thai in Dunmore. The fish in sushi looks and tastes so much better. It has color and taste and you get more. Sushi & Thai in Dunmore has better product, technique, and taste. The sushi was soggy ,flavorless and the tuna had a few different colors on it, The tempura was nasty, greasy... the shrimp though was not as greasy as the veggie... instead of tempura sauce I was given something that smelled like banana, the Vietnamese salad had what looked like sautéed chopped peanuts, about six thin slices of mango, one piece of cilantro and it had Chinese rice noodles in it. That wasn't in the description. To add insult to injury,my horrible meal cost 33 dollars but I paid 60 to door dash. If you get seated where Tyler serves, ask to be moved. We were seated in a fairly empty restaurant, and waited, and waited until she finally came and took our drink order. Then we waited about 20 minutes for our drinks. The ginger ale was disgusting. We could not flag Tyler down to get a drink replacement. She was too busy chatting, and making herself scarce. Finally got our food and drink replaced. She never replenished the drinks. The food was good even though it was a very long wait. Only ordered 3 meals. It took 1.5 hours from seating to receiving check, no soup or apps or dessert. Just a terrible server who didn't care about her customers. The waitress working across from us busted her butt and was the nicest person. Two families were served and finished at her table. My husband actually had to get up and find the waitress. He slapped the check down in front of her and the owners because she was too busy sitting and talking with them to get the check. Wouldn't go there again. read more

Really good restaurant to check out, I've been here 5 times so far. The hibachi combo platters are my favorite I usually get the scallops with chicken so much food so definitely worth the price, you could even share the platter if you'd like or have some leftovers depending on how hungry you are. Wish I could give this zero stars... My coworkers and I ordered lunch today for take out. We received unnecessarily bad treatment and even worse food. First of all, the lady I talked to to place the order was beyond put out that I called in an order... Then, my friend went in to get the meal and was laughed at for not knowing the phone number the order was put under. He didn't place the order, but also got laughed at for not knowing the everything on the order. He advised the first waitress that she was very rude and she stalked away. After finally paying for the meal and coming back, we noticed very quickly that the food had been done for some time before he picked up. Cold and soggy. My fried rice was soggy on top (notice the garnish discolored and wilted) and molded to the bottom of the dish. Also, the miso soup was definitely NOT your typical miso. No tofu, no seaweed, barely any bean paste. Only mushrooms and very little green onion. Little to no flavor. I paid extra and got the tempura shrimp roll as part of the 2 roll lunch special and it wasn't even remotely crunchy. We have ordered from here before and enjoyed the food, but today from start to finish it was bad all around. Definitely not ordering from here again and will, from now on, suggest any other sushi place for the lunch order. This place needs to reevaluate their customer facing employees. Love this place. We've got a lot of options for sushi in this area so the Thai and other Asian options on the menu are really what set this place apart. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. Always clean. The sushi has always been fresh and tasty and the hot ginger tea is a must try. But I must say the Thai curries are my favorite options on the menu. (Especially the masaman). I was first delivered tofu curry 10 min after I ordered. They apologized and corrected my order promptly in 5 min. The potatoes & chicken were terribly overcooked, however the flavor was good. Food was good, the special rolls were a bit expensive I think for that area, tried a piece from my friend and it tasted good. I personally ordered the Spicy Tuna and Salmon Avocado roll. They tasted good, nothing too special but wasnt expecting anything crazy. I also ordered a beef satay appetizer and that was surprisingly tasty and good portion. She recommended the scallops, Worst $18 ever spent. I received drenched mixed greens with deep fried scallops, oh, and a side of white rice. This was. "Chef Special." Consistently good sushi. Excellent value. My wife and I are sushi addicts. We have been to every sushi restaurant in the Scranton area. This restaurant is our favorite because they serve consistently good, fresh sushi at a reasonable price. Some may argue that Blu Wasabi is better, but it is not that much better and it is way more expensive. Interior decor is pleasant and service is very good.
