Normally, I usually just stick to some sushi rolls and occasionally branch out to the wok garlic shrimp or a Thai dish, but tonight, I decided to ask the waitress for a recommendation between the wok garlic shrimp and the crispy scallops with mixed greens. She recommended the scallops, Worst $18 ever spent. I received drenched mixed greens with deep fried scallops, oh, and a side of white rice. This was. "Chef Special." Do not order this if you're looking for a flavorful dish. The lettuce was drenched in some sort of dressing and extremely salty. The scallops were meh. And why the white rice? Onion soup is awesome, super flavorful and very warming. Yellow curry is my favorite dish here. It's served over flame so it boils at your table while you serve yourself out of a personal tureen. They also have sushi and hibachi here which my family loves for special occasions. read more

This was definitely our last visit to Sushi & Thai, which sucks because it's close by but an absolute waste of money. Almost everything we ordered tasted off. The hibachi noodles and my daughters sweet potato roll tasted sour to the point where we did not even eat it. We also ordered a "Honey Lemon Green Tea w/ Jelly" which I would imagine tastes the way Pine Sol does. When our server came to ask if we needed boxes we filled her in, and the only response was "I'll let them know". Our server was good, everything was timed nicely, but it was clear that there is no communication when things go wrong- no one from management came to ask about our meal. When you spend $58 and half of what you order tastes bad and there isn't any true acknowledgement of it- that's a big red flag. Sushi & Thai has the best sushi in the area but the worst hibachi. It doesn't look nice on the outside but is super nice on the inside! They always have good specials and they are really accommodating. Although everything I order is good, my order is always messed up somehow. Luckily I love sushi, don't have allergies, and it's always good so it doesn't really bother me. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for sushi in Dunmore! Great food, and we live close by, but we will never go there again. On my birthday my girlfriend brought me here for Thai and sushi. Long story short, she ordered vegetable Pad Thai. There were no vegetables. None. We pointed out their mistake, and they said, "We'll make it up to you next time," making no effort to just fix the meal at hand. What? We were a little shocked. We complained again, thinking, this is not a big problem, just give us the veggies that were supposed to go in with the noodles and we'll be good, but they said no. We were amazed. Seems to me that would have been a very easy way to fix the problem. Instead, they didn't give us what we ordered, made no effort to fix their mistake, and have lost our business, and the business of many of our local friends for good. Too bad. The food is good. But I will not be treated that way, and especially not let someone treat my girlfriend that way. Very foolish, incredibly rude. And on my birthday. Shame on you. We have already made sure you lost plenty of our local business. And will continue to do so, all because you wouldn't add some veggies. Very, very stupid. Don't mess with Scrantonians. I've had several pleasant experiences at Sushi & Thai and our waitress time and time again has been very kind. The host, however, was kind of cold and bitter about working a Saturday night in my opinion. The hibachi tables look super fun and delicious, while lively! However, the atmosphere, though very trendy, is a little too dark for my liking - some people have to shine their flashlights on the menu items. It is very affordable, and their sushi is to die for. A personal favorite of mine is the Spider Roll. The wait can be a little long, and takeout is a pain. read more

Really good food, a little pricey, but overall I'm happy. My mom and I got food to go, everything was very tasty and the staff was pretty nice. They actually messed up the order a little bit, so they remade what was wrong and let us have the mistake without charging for it. Nice! The boba tea is good, the soups are very good (only complaint is tom kha gai had a little too much mushroom, but it wasn't bad, just not as good as other places I've gotten it). It was pretty packed for a weekday afternoon when we went, so that's a good sign. Overall I really have no major complaints and we'll likely come back again soon. read more

Visited for lunch because a friend posted on facebook about what a great meal they had. It was very good. I had the spicy girl roll. My coworkers had the steak hibachi. Everyone enjoyed their meal, But... the portions were so small we all left hungry. My roll was delicious but for 13$ I expected a little more. It barely covered the palm of my hand. The Thai soup was really good. definitely try if you go- it was a coconut milk broth with vegetables and lots of garlic; aromatic and delicious. I mainly came here for the drunken noodles and was disappointed. It was really greasy and could've used more vegetables- it was very plain. For a fusion restaurant that only serves a handful of Thai dishes, you would expect them to be really good but it was mediocre at best. It's the only one restaurant with Thai food in the area that is open on Sundays since both in Scranton (Thai rak Thai and thai Thai) are closed, which is why I was here. read more

We have been going here since they opened. It had been a while since our last visit. It was 7 pm on a Friday night and the place was practically deserted. It took almost 20 minutes to get something to drink. The first thing I noticed was how dirty the place was. Counter at Hibachi was sticky and greasy, plates were not clean. The four tvs on the walls all had the wiring exposed like a dogs breakfast. The guy that did the hibachi was terrific. The food was tasty. Never tried the Sushi but as far as the Thai food, it's awful. The Thai Fried Rice with vegges came with frozen peas and carrots, that's it. To me it tasted like the Chinese take out next door prepared it. Nothing Thai about the meal, and I've tried this place twice. Personally the Thai Rak Thai on Adams Ave, Scranton is GREAT. This is an amazing restaurant for either sushi or Thai. We had both, the sushi was very fresh and the slices were thick. We had a specialty roll called "the incredible roll" and it was incredible! We also had panang and my mouth is waiting for me to go back. I'm just upset that I have been missing out for a year at eating here we just found out about it last week. This restaurant is as good as any I've tried in New York or L.A. It's located in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you, they have a great selection of modern asian, Japanese and Thai food. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully elegant, done in dark woods, complete with a well stocked bar. It is smallish inside, don't book a large party, but it's a great place to take a date and I have yet to see any noisy children running around. And the most important part, the food! It's great and is prepared with all fresh vegetables. My favorite is the chicken with black bean sauce. It comes with fresh water chestnuts and fresh bamboo shoots, something rarely seen in northeast Pa. (And none of those miniature corn abominations). The dish also has fresh sweet red peppers, sweet onions and green beans. And the sashimi, well, it's thicker than a lot of steaks I've been served. It's deliciously fresh, and as stated, you get a great sized portion. The service has always been quick and efficient. They are not pushy and overly friendly--they do not come to your table and say in that fake excited voice "Hi- my name is blah blah and I'll be your server." I guess some people like that type of service, but not me. They do not hover over your table, but they are always there to refill your water glass or drink and the check is always delivered without you having to hunt them down. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. And there's always the lunch specials if you want to try it out. read more

5 star rating for the food!! We had chicken pad Thai, yellow Thai curry with chicken and brown rice and sunset fried rice. Everything was so delicious!! I do have to say though, based on my brief encounter with the staff (we got takeout) there is something to be desired as far as friendly wait staff goes. I usually tip, even for takeout. But this time I didn't. The bartender basically ignored me, grabbed the food and left it on the counter without even handing it to me, and pushed my receipt to sign without a word or smile. I have been here multiple times and will always come back. Sushi is good here, especially the rolls. The rice is also very good. They have fried ice cream that is to die for, if you are in the mood for dessert. One time that I came we happened to get a waitress who was kind of rude, and laughed when I ordered a juice, (I guess she was just having a bad day, although this was months ago?) but all the other times that we came make up for it because the service was good all of the other times. I ordered takeout from here the other day for the first time because I just wanted to try this place as I was near by. I order the vegetable tempura and yellow curry beef. I picked up my order in 15 minutes and for just these two items if was $21!!! The beef was tough the curry very watery and the WORST part after eating virtually all of my veg. tempura I found a long, black hair cooked inside.....so gross and disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!! I definitely won't be going back..... Overpriced... Gross.... !!!!! Don't waste your Money or health eating there.....The Department of Health should be in the kitchen ASAP and inspect!!!!! read more

I have eaten here before and in the past it has been very good, but last visit was a different story. One waitress for the entire back room, took 25 minutes to even put a food order in was not told anything about the restaurant for newcomers or specials for that evening. Finally after an hour wait we got our food which was cold for all 8 of us. Not one person ate their meal and was never asked why. For the price the entire party was extremely disappointed. read more
