The sushi is absolutely fantastic. Some of the best if not the best sushi and rolls in the area. This great taste and freshness comes at a cost and it is more money than other alternative sushi restaurants in the area though. Pro tip: Get the spicy squid salad. Absolutely amazing!

This is simply the greatest sushi spot. Q and Steven do such wonderful job. The picture posted is a platter created by Q. Includes Multiple Roll, Yummy Yummy Toll, Detroit Roll, and Avocado creation by Q

This is one of the better sushi spots in the downriver area. The portions are a good size, there's a variety of appetizers on the menu, and there's a koi pond (instant W). I haven't been in here since their remodel, and while it gives off more of a bar vibe than a sushi vibe now, the food is still great. A little more pricey, but it was worth it!

I've eyed this place for a while and decided to give them a try since it is the closest sushi place near my house. I've read a mix of reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. The quality of the fish was good and the rolls weren't over the top like I've seen some places. I was a big fan of the Detroit roll. The shrimp shumai left something to be desired as an appetizer. It was actually a little cold and bland. Ambiance is casual, décor is typical of a sushi restaurant. Overall, the pricing was fair.

SERVICE: World Class Service. So my girlfriend and I came in 6 minutes before closing. If you've ever worked in the service industry, we all know how that can be annoying, especially when they close at 11:00pm. However, was met with some fantastic smiles from Cindy (Manager), Ashley (Hostess). They made us very comfortable and told us to take our time. Cindy even set up a table for us at the connected bar next door (On the Rocks). Kind of cool having sushi at a little bar. When it got chilly Cindy moved us close to a fireplace and blasted the heat. We were served by Hailey at the Bar. Fantastic service. Cindy made us feel at home by asking us what we wanted to request from the Juke Box. FOOD: I'm asian and sushi has always been part of my life , just check out my other reviews. The lobster sushi is to die for. I got the I've tried many authentic sushi bars and I was extremely impressed by freshness of the sushi. The spider roll was perfectly crunchy and the spicy tuna was the perfect type of spiciness. These place deserves more recognition! Keep up the good work Cindy, Ashley, and Hailey! To the owner of the bars give these ladies a raise.

California rolls surround the crunchy roll on the ends the middle is two Detroit rolls and the Tokyo roll.

Craving some sush and it was delish! Between my husband and I, and his brother and wife we ordered a spicy and non-spicy California roll, a crunchy roll, two Detroit rolls, Tokyo roll and a multiple orgasm! The rolls are a perfect bite-size; specialty rolls are a bit larger with the extra fluff but still manageable. The regular rolls were just what you would expect, however if u don't like a lot of sauce perhaps ask for light mayo. I would eat it doused in sauce so no complaints there. The specialty rolls were a lot of fun. If u like a sweet Rangoon flavor I highly recommend the crunchy rolls! Also the crab on the Detroit roll was yummy. Overall the sushi was very fresh and delicious. Oh and if you're worried about the caviar, don't be, it's very tiny and unnoticeable in both flavor and texture. My two complaints are that we ordered together on one piece of paper and later had to list off our rolls because we were paying separately. Next time we'll just ask for another sheet. And then it was a pretty hot day out with poor a/c if u can call it that. If you plan on eating in, don't overdress expecting cranked a/c as in other restaurants. Update: We've tried calling about 3 times to order take out since we've visited and they never seem to answer the phone.

Sushi quality was pretty good. We ordered salmon & yellow tail roll, Alaskan & spider roll, salmon roe nigiri. We also ordered shrimp tempura which came with three pieces of shrimp & some mixed vegetables. That was also pretty good. Also ordered soft shell crab as appetizer & I felt it was too small a size for the price, they probably should have given two for the price. Over all the place had pretty good sushi but the only turn off was the decor was dated. Tables were wobbly & it felt like I was in the 90's with banquet chairs. Service was really good, my water never ran dry. If you need a sushi fix in Wyandotte, this place can give it to you.

Outstanding sushi every time I eat here. Not only is the quality of the sushi fantastic, but the service you got is second to none. Chef is just an artist and possibly the most likeable person I know. He treats us incredibly well every time we are in this fine establishment. I must drive past 50 sushi restaurants to come to this incredible place in Wyandotte Michigan. I also got a chance to meet the owner today and he was as kind and high energy as they come. This place just has an incredible vibe and you will have the best meal imaginable. If you haven't eaten yet, you have missed a lot. A++++

Eating here is a sensual experience. The food is meant to be savored by every faculty which man possesses. I see advertisements for other sushi restaurants and am not even remotely enticed by their accompanying pictures or menu descriptions. On all fronts, the Sushi Bar in Wyandotte is extraordinairy--presentation, service, atmosphere, taste and quality. I've traveled all throughout Central Europe and North America, and have never tasted any dish so exquisite and savory as those I've ordered here. The secret ingredient, I believe, is Love. Mike, the proprietor and designer of the establishment has a real passion for quality service, and his eyes light up when he speaks of his restaurant. If you look through the photos I posted, you can see evidence of passion on a plate! Two days ago, the love of my life and I, again, made our third pilgrimage to the Sushi Bar for our fix. We sat at the sushi bar, and ogled over the fresh fish displayed. Mike stopped by to sit and chat with us for a while about the history of the place and how something so good came to be in such a little-known place. If you ever have the opportunity, ask him about its roots. You'll be in for quite a tale! On this visit, to thank us for our faithful patronage and kind review, Mike gave us a sample of his favorite creation with the triple-punch flavor--cool, slightly spicy, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. But his kindness extended, still further! "I'm going to make you the best dessert of your lives, the likes of which you've never seen or tasted. This dessert will blow your mind," he said. "Free of charge." And he was right. Absolutely right. At the end of our meal, he came out with a specialty dessert on a long plate: two decadent towers of tiramisu, fresh artfully arranged fruits, and a single scoop of flavorful frosty ice cream, complemented by two chocolate syrup hearts. (Check the photos section to see! I'm going to have to start bringing my DSLR camera to the Sushi Bar after that!) My boyfriend and I both could not recall a time when we'd ever had a better tasting dessert. Please, if you have not, go and check it out. I do not endorse just any old venue. It really is an exemplary place. You will not be disappointed.

Rainbow Roll and Alaskan Roll

I ordered carryout from The Sushi Bar and it tasted just as good as it looked! The sushi chef did an exceptional job and the server was very friendly. Highly recommend and will be back again. Pictured is the rainbow roll and Alaskan roll.

Pickup experience was good.. friendly staff greeted me and I had to wait 5 or 10 minutes but no worries our food was fresh and delicious when we arrived home to eat our meal. Luckily, the waiting area on the inside by the bar opened up. This place has a sushi bar in one corner and the rest of the restaurant does teppanyaki. Our whole party sat together at one of the teppanyaki tables. There was a chef in the middle of our table that cooked all our food for us and put on a show. I love how he made a volcano with the stacked onion slices and lit it on fire. For our appetizers we got their specialty sushi roll of the day. I forgot the name of it, but it was so good. It had real crab and it was deep fried. Our hibachi combo meals came with clear soup, house salad, veggie medley and fried rice. I got the shrimp and scallops $30. The hubby got the chicken and filet mignon $30. I'm used to having miso soup at these places, but this place had a clear soup, which was ok. The food was good and the proteins were fresh. I loved the scallops. My only complaint was the butter. OMG, huge scoops of butter for everything that he cooked. I could see my arteries clogging. They gave us this dipping sauce that was to die for. I think it was called yum yum sauce. I could put that sauce on everything, lol. We had fun and I would dine here again. Just please use less butter.
