Atmosphere: when I first arrived here, I was a little taken back as it seemed like it was a seafood spot. However, when you start asking questions, you will discover that they also serve Ramen. At the time, it was not super busy and the dining area was comfortable. They have TVs where you could possibly watch a sports game. Food: The Ramen was pretty good. I don't think it was the best I've ever had, but it certainly wasn't bad either. Again, the food tasted amazing. I got the combo which allowed you to get an appetizer and Ramen. The appetizer was pork buns and it was really good. Also, the Ramen was excellent. Service: The service was good. Nothing exceptional to note in this area. Overall, the food was good. The dining area was clean. I will probably return and I recommend you do the same. I don't like seafood however you might like that but certainly the Ramen was good. read more

I ordered the spicy ramen and hubby ordered the Kinya ramen. The special for $22 offers ramen bowel with appetizer. Unfortunately, we will not return. The ramen was not what we're accustomed to. I went to this restaurant 39 minutes before closing. And repeatedly I kept getting asked do I want to order to go. Now I get full fast I was totally planning to eat some of my food with my drink and take the remainder home. My waitress was nice she checked on me and the shrimp ramen was good the vegetable gyoga was not for me. The decor was cute. I asked for a carry out container and the waitress said it was too late. But apparently she thought I wanted to order food to go. She was freaking out. Once she came to her senses she brought me my containers and I was out by 10:03. This ramen spot is actually located inside the Hook and Reel. You might almost it if you aren't paying attention but they do have a sign for both located outside the building. I was not quite sure what to expect but I must admit the ramen was pretty good. I have to say the portions are humungous! The bowls are about three times the size of a normal soup bowl so even if you have a big appetite, you'll probably end up taking leftovers home. I had the Kinya Ramen, which featured 24K gold flakes, which was something I had never had and the pork gyozas. It tasted like a big hug and chicken noodle soup all wrapped into one. I'd definitely describe it as flavorful comfort food. The service was good as well. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The seafood boil bags looked tasty as well so I'll have to visit again and try that as well. If you're in the area and craving ramen, I'd recommend giving them a try. read more

We happened to visit on a Saturday night and walked in very confused as there was a live DJ playing very loud music (totally fine, just want expecting it). I asked the hostess if this was a ramen place and she smiled and said yes and it's a shared concept space with Hook & Reel. The food was good, but all of the ramen has a fish cake made to look like Naruto radish and I would have prefered real Naruto. I got the Chintan Ramen with chicken. I asked for no black fungus (mushrooms). I'm assuming they were out of nori as it was listed in the description but there was none in my bowl, but I didn't complain since I like ramen with or without nori. The broth was very good, but I could not finish my ramen and the carry out container provided was not appropriate for the broth so I left most of it in the bowl. We also got the bao buns. They were good, but there was too much sauce, maybe twice what it needed. The pork belly tasted great and the bun was soft and warm. Service was great, though it was not busy. I'd like to visit another time when it's busier to be able to vouch for service quality and maybe bump up my rating after trying more things. read more

This is not good. The broth was bad. It was gamey. It did not taste like ramen - it tasted like bad schmaltz. And the ingredients in the soup were bad as well. The chicken did not seem fresh. This place was great! It's combined with hook &reel so I didn't know what to expect. But this was pretty legit. The vibe is trendy and there is ton of parking. The service was great, the waitress always checked on me and filled my water. I had the takoyaki balls which were fantastic, they were slightly crunchy on the outside but hot and soft inside! Soooo good! I also had the kinya ramen with pork chasu and it was delicious! The broth was flavorful, noodles had a good chew and tons of toppings. Haha it even had a gold leaf, so extra! New Ramen chain located inside Hook n Real just opened a few weeks ago. Had a good meal of Wonton Ramen and Chicken Bowl with appetizers Pork Boa Buns and Spring Rolls. Dessert the Mochi Ice Cream one each Green Tea, Vanilla and Strawberry marvolus. Thanks to manager and waitress for the outstanding service and hospitality. Wanted to try out this new ramen spot in southgate. It was a little hard to find as it is inside / connected to the Hook & Reel. When you walk in they can give you either menu. The restaurant itself is very cool, love the decor and the people here. I decided to order their signature Kinya Ramen with 24k gold on top. Great service and presentation but noodles and the broth were lacking flavor. It was still good but not what I was craving for. This is definitely not an authentic traditional ramen, but it's still a good place to stop in for a bite or combo. read more

I got the spicy chicken ramen and the veg gyoza! They were pretty good, the ramen had a slightly fishy taste(I mean it's at a seafood restaurant so what would I expect). I normally LOVE soft boiled eggs, but this one tasted like it had been soaked in alcohol, and it was grey on the outside. They had good service, but the food was gross. We did the signature ramen but it wasn't any good. Didn't like the pork or the broth. And they use way too much mayo on the pork buns. Nasty. It's also inside of a Cajun seafood restaurant. It's Cajun seafood/ramen, which seemed strange. We will not be going back. read more

Waited a little longer after we were seated than I felt was necessary since we walked right in and were seated right away. The server was very polite and responsive once she came over.
