Amazing food! I've been to every state in the country, and I've eaten sushi from probably every coastal city, and I have yet to find a sushi roll as good as their interpretation of the volcano roll. We get lunch delivered from here at work all the time, and we all (myself included) LOVE Bamboo Garden! They always have great coupons, and the lunch menu is really cheap to begin with. It is so hard to find great sesame chicken, but they nailed it. The crab rangoon is fabulous, but make sure you specifically order sweet and sour sauce- it doesn't come with it. This place really is hit or miss. Some days the food and service are great and some days not so good. You can eat it, take out or have food delivered right to your door from a lunch or dinner menu. They have a pretty good sushi menu and make the rolls fresh to order. There are Chinese inspired apps, specialty dishes and combination plates that include steamed or fried rice, as well as soup or an egg roll. They also have seasonal dishes like the mango chicken (yum!). My favorite picks is the lunch bento box (served until 3pm) that includes a bowl of miso soup, edamame, a California roll, your choice of teriyaki meat, veggies, steamed rice, and a side of shrimp and veggie tempura, all for just $8.95!! And for those trying to stay healthy, I recommend checking out the weight watchers selections which are steamed meat or tofu with mixed veggies, steamed rice and sauce on the side. I ran this app and this shop had some good ratings, so we gave it a shot. Took us quite a bit from Lincoln Park to get here, but it was definitely worth the trip. The food here is pretty good. We had their appetizers, but I'd rather skip to their sushi rolls because that's where they truly shine. They gave us some rather generous portions of sushi rolls that's pretty much larger than the usual. Ingredients were extremely fresh and tasty as well. We were definitely full by the time we finished all of our sushi rolls. I give mad props to the sushi chef,, front line employees kick butt as well. They're very welcoming and accomodating. Dining area is a little rustic, but I really don't care about that stuff. I came here to eat, not gawk at nice surroundings. Food always trumps venue, that's the way I see it. Life is awesome! I don't know what happened to this place. Used to be great...food was well prepared, fresh and tasty. Staff was very good. Ate there day before yesterday. So horrible now. I ordered chicken and broccoli with white rice. Waitress was very nice, but definitely can't speak enough English to answer questions.... Got brown rice, and the chicken and broccoli tasted like a microwave meal. The place doesn't even smell like food is cooking! I thought it was because I was there for lunch, but I don't think they're really cooking anything, anymore. Microwave food tastes like microwave food. The place is dingy and not well lit anymore. Doesn't smell dirty, but it smells like 'failure'. I also ordered iced tea, and what came to the table was as dark as a cup of coffee and obviously powdered....an Asian restaurant that can't make tea????? Come on. Undrinkable. Staff was on their phones, in the corner. It took awhile to get somebody's attention for the bill. I wasn't charged for the tea. I did take the leftovers home, thinking I could doctor it up for dinner later, but around 6pm I had horrible stomach issues and things got rough in the bathroom, so I threw out the rest of the food, just in case. I've had the General Tso chicken here, which was spiced just right, crispy, and overall pretty good. The next week, I had the orange chicken, which was definitely missing something. It's marked as being spicy on the menu, but it's definitely not. It's not even really that orangey. My coworker said her dish wasn't as spicy as she's used to, either. I decided to order the twice cooked lunch combo which came with white rice or fried rice and soup. I had to order an egg roll because those were not included. The egg roll was the cabbage and shrimp kind which I prefer the pork bean sprout but it was still tasty. My meal came and it was a good portion for the price. I was a bit surprised that the cabbage in the dish wasn't cooked more so they must not blanch before stir frying. It had a good flavor but the pork wasnt really cut up right. Some of my pieces looked like octopus legs attached to a body because they werent cut all the way thru. The waitress must have been new because she had to keep coming back to verify my order. And didnt come back to ask how everything was or if I needed anything else. She didnt clear the plates off as I was finishing either so I had to make room for stuff. She brought me my bill and a fortune cookie, laid it down on the table and walked away. Heck I didnt even have a fortune in my cookie which explains my experience! I ordered food from this restaurant a couple of days ago and the food ended up giving me and my family a bad stomach ache. Before we could even eat a second bite of our food we realized that something was not right about the food because the crab Rangoon was stale and that didn't sit right with me. So I contacted the restaurant and spoke with the host and she acted as if she didn't understand, which led her to give the phone to the owner. After explaining the issue to him, he acted as if he didn't understand what I was saying, never tried to provide resolution, so I ended the call.
