You can park further away in small streets and walk here if so inclined. We ordered via Ubereats this time and it came in decent time. Food: Sushi bong special - I feel like the fish in the sushi has gotten smaller and a bit thinner than years past. Still fresh fish - salmon is great as is the tuna. The California roll has salmon still which is nice. 4/5. Unagi roll - the unagi roll has a nice bbq eel flavor to it. The rice in the roll is good though some pieces were falling apart. I feel like there's a lot more filler now and less of the star unagi. Not bad still - 4/5. This is a great spot for affordable sushi to satisfy a craving! Sushi Bong is located around the roundabout at the Tridel building complex just north of the Metro. There's street parking along Yonge but on weekends can be challening to find a spot. We ordered the Bong Sashimi platter, Spicy Salmon roll, and Dynamite roll which came to $35. The Bong Sashimi platter consisted of roughly 18 pieces of salmon, butterfish, and whitefish I believe. It isn't the freshest cuts so if you are prone to tasting the fishiness of sashimi, I'd stay away. The Spicy Salmon roll were the smaller sized rolls but were very satisfactory. Not too spicy and is a nice add on to your order. The Dynamite roll was HUGE and had tempura shrimp, egg, avocado and other items all crusted with tempura bits. They do phone orders ahead of time but they didn't pick up when I tried to call. They only accept cash and debit. Portion sizes are average in their piece counts, but the sizes of the rolls are massive compared to what their competitors put out. The Bong's Special is always a great choice for variety. My personal favourite is the Spider Roll. There's just something about the texture and taste of the softshell crab encased in a roll that is nothing short of heavenly. Both speed of service and pricing is great, but parking isn't. Theres a maximum of 12 spots for the whole plaza, effectively making everything in the immediate area very focused on pick-up orders. I've started to put in large pick-up orders for parties and holidays and everytime I've gone to pick them up, as a thank you they've put in small additions at no extra charge, things like pop and/or miso soups. Such a small gesture of thanks such as this has made me feel good and as such, has retained my business and loyalty to this establishment. Over the course of several-dozen visits to this location and I've never once had a problem. The fish to rice ratio was excellent and the rolls were stuffed. Got takeout with a couple of my friends. The place is still closed for the most part and is only takeout + only accepts debit/cash. They also gave us a bag of salmon heads for free which I think is nice? Kind of weird but appreciate the generosity. Price was OK, this was the extra large tray (122 PCs for about $82, there is also a 100 PC for $64). funny enough you don't actually get a tray unless you pay extra. For the "price to piece" ratio, they "supposedly" do a food job. However, even though the advertised price seems decent, the actual pieces of fish are super thin. One slice of salmon at a place like Ai Sushi is equivalent to 3 or 4 pieces here and they charge about the same. Same for the sushi, the pieces of fish are small. On the flip end, they try to compensate by giving very large California rolls with lots of rice. However, going to a sushi place, having to order rolls are more of a consequence rather than choice. I go to sushi places to eat fish not cucumbers, imitation meat, and rice. The rolls weren't particularly tasty or creative either. I thought they were OK but didn't really find myself wanting more.
