The only and I repeat the ONLY reason I'd go back to this place is for the scenery. Ambiance: 10/10. The place is located at the rooftop of the Tower-K hotel. There is a pool at the main focal point, a hot tub, multiple tables for people in bathing suits and tables by the covered bar area. Service: 10/10 The young man at the bar with the beautiful eyes was attentive, proactive and very effective. Food: 1/10. The Crispy Roll lacked a finishing sauce. The California roll had little bits of crab and no finishing sauce either. I asked for eel sauce or spicy mayo and they refused! Even when I offered to pay for it. Really poor food at steep prices. The fried tuba wontons were decent. I'd give that a 8/10. It was hot and fresh. Overall the place is beautiful, indescribable views and immaculate seating. Ever since I've discovered Hotel Lucerna, and it's even more upscale boutique hotel K Tower, this property has become my go-to when it comes to lodging in Tijuana. One aspect of this property that I did not become aware of until months after my first stay is the rooftop lounge at K Tower. This lounge has a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, plenty of plush seating, a fully-stocked bar, and nice views of the city. Their star offering is the sushi. Prices here are comparable to US sushi prices, but the quality is more than worth it. I've had their sashimi, spicy tuna rolls, and rainbow rolls. I have now been here several times on dates, with friends, or on a quick excursion alone. Every time, the sushi bar at this rooftop lounge has provided me excellent service. Whether you're a local or a tourist from LA or SD, I recommend coming here to try their sushi. The ambient is great, upscale, and relaxed. And this wasn't the exception ! We started off with drinks two virgen pinas coladas and one limonada for my mom! Our drinks were good can't complain! Except the fact they charged them with alcohol lol But they fixed that! For food we ordered spicy edamames, the ceviche atún picante, ramen soup, banana roll, Cali roll, and crispy spicy roll! The spicy edamames were delicious my fav was the ceviches atún picante it was extremely good! It was the best I ever tried that's why I gave them two stars. All the rolls were horrible not sushi authentic rolls at all! Lack of flavor! And the worst worst worst was th ramen soup! It was not cooked all the way! The noodles were discussing!! My wife and I came down to stay at the K Tower hotel for a special occasion. We stayed two nights and three days. Both nights we ate at the sushi en La Azotea. The suit food was good like we had heard in the service was excellent bar nun. But there was something that we noticed and that was a guy that appeared to be a manager. His name was LUIS. And he treated us like we were a king and a queen. For example one time while I was in the swimming pool he had asked my wife if everything was OK with her which it was but she said to me "what a good man that guy was". She was talking about LUIS Who I had already been watching for a day or so already. This guy LUIS is an inspiration to me. Not only the way he works so hard and efficiently but I can tell he has respect from his coworkers and I watched how he treated some of the guests as he treated my wife and I. I watched him clean up glasses, mop floors and the next minute he was pouring wine for a customer to taste. He did everything which is why he probably had the respect for his workers. I know I respected managers who did all the work needed and not just the work for managers. He was constantly on the move. What a great worker! When my wife told me that he was a gentleman, something she never says really, I realized whatever I had seen in him that was inspiring to me was also something she saw. As we left my wife was smiling inside I could tell. . My wife was happy to be treated like this and I was thankful to see her happy that way. So I wanted to recognize LUIS now and say thank you. And thank you to whomever hired him. We are just normal people but tonight thanks to LUIS we felt like special people too. Great restaurant, great food and great LUIS. Thank you read more

The location/view is what makes this place. The service, very courteous and professional; however, our order took way too long. Miso soup should be the most basic/common starter. This along with a spicy edamame took about 20-25 minutes to arrive. The sushi rolls (the fish itself), had a "fishy" smell, which in my experience, says the fish is not kept fresh at adequate temperatures. Alright, let's cut to the chase here. This place is a mess. The space is not designed, nor is the staff trained to handle a big party. Heck, I would go so far as to say they were not trained at all. Once the entire part arrived- a party of eight- we waited 10 minutes to be offered drinks. I am sorry, but any patron should have a drink in there hand 2 minutes after sitting down. We waited another 20 minutes, I kid you not, 20 minutes for the menu. We didn't feel the time go by on account of the good time we were having in company, but my gf and I were keeping time (admittedly, we arrived hungry). Once they thought about bringing the menus, they could only offer us four because they did not have enough. The place only had three other parties. Astonished by the terrible service so far, we ordered despondently. The joy of the time was being had at the expense of the place to be honest, as we could not stop sharing jokes about the place and service. Not feeling risky, as I believe service is a reflection of food quality, my gf and I just ordered octopus ceviche, a spider and spicy tuna roll. We did not receive the food until after 40 minutes of waiting. At about minute 35, the manager came over and claimed everything is made fresh, even the juice used to cook the ceviche. However, that is not an excuse for the delay; I have visited different (fresher, too) sushi places, and the wait does not exceed 15 minutes. Regarding the food, unimpressive rolls, and the octopus ceviche was too salty. Nevermind the fact we also had to wait for the ceviche's crackers, after it was given to us. Staff was courteous, exchange rate, ok (18.20), and the view is displeasing (Ktower is not really a tower, just a 6 story building, towered by an actual hospital tower). Changes need to be made very quickly, otherwise, all the flashy features, fairy lights, outdoor pool will just be indicative of overcompensation. read more
