We were already on the pier and it was lunch hour. We saw the sign for the Sushi GoGo lunch special and figured eh why not. It's certainly not Sugarfish here, but a cost-friendly sushi spot has it's upsides too. As for the lunch special, my favorite part was the vegetable tempura. I was a big fan of their vegetable selection, the tempura was fried nicely, and the dipping sauce added a good sweetness. The teriyaki chicken was moist and my second favorite part. The California roll was alright, but the spicy tuna roll was not good. The salad was fine, and the rice was okay. Overall, a good amount and variety of food for your buck. read more

Savory beef with caramelized onions, crispy shrimp and veg tempura (a little heavier breading than other tempuras I've had), California roll, gyoza, rice and salad. Couldn't finish it in one sitting. Pretty delicious sushi in Santa Barbara ! Came here during a little mini weekend getaway with the hubby. We aren't familiar with the area but our Airbnb host actually recommended this place. Food - I ordered a rainbow roll and a salmon avocado roll. Both were very delicious and the fish was surprisingly very fresh! My husband ordered something separate and I can't remember what it was but he also was surprised at how fresh the fish was. We also tried the miso soup which was just okay. Dl Service - Incredibly friendly and everyone seems very attentive. They check on the customers all the time and it seemed like there was always one person outside to make sure that everyone was okay. Ambiance - They only have outdoor seating which is just fine because the view from the piers are lovely. You get to see the sailboats, the hills, the water, etc. The restaurant itself is small - it seems mostly for take-out. The only thing that I found most challenging but wasn't a huge inconvenience was the parking. There's a huge parking lot but it can be quite a walk to get to the restaurant, especially if it's a busy weekend so expect to do some walking just to get to order some sushi from here! read more

Super great for a quickish meal!! I ordered the baked lobster roll and beef potstickes and ate it outside (there are no tables inside, so maybe not great if its cold out). By far the BEST sushi in Santa Barbara. 15/10. Found this place and it became my new fix. I could not say anymore good things about Sushi Go Go. Consistent, exceptional, fresh sushi. Great, quick service. Located on the harbor, with a charming intimate atmosphere- the only flaw is that it's not closer to me. Their rolls supersede their marks while putting a unique spin on some tasty classics. My fav is 100% the the Go Go Express roll. It comes with spicy yellow tail, cucumber, albacore and topped with crunchy onions. BOMB.com. It literally melted in my mouth and was the perfect combination of flavors. Arguably, the best thing about Go Go is the fact you can eat amazing, quality sushi for a reasonable price. My favorite roll to get here are the go-go express roll, which is an explosion of flavor it is spicy Tuna roll topped with seared yellowtail. And freshly fried onion. It is amazing and addictive. They are super OG, simple and straight to the point. No frills so don't expect a dine-in experience. Service is sweet and short, they take your order ( order off their menu, that's what it's there for). And you wait for it. They are always busy so order online. Portions are HUGE! One of my favorite sushi spots in Santa Barbara. It used to be the cheapest too, but inflation has gotten this spot now too. The fish here is incredibly fresh and the food comes out fast! I once went around to 3 sushi spots in one night to compare and contrast their spicy tuna rolls and this one came up on top for quality and quantity. Their basic rolls are pricey ($9-12) but they pack them with fish and I notice they end up being larger than other spots. I love their hand rolls here too, those are packed with fresh fish and a couple of those would make a full meal. They don't have a huge menu for sushi, but the other day I asked if they could make a yellowtail green onion roll for me and they did it! They charged me for a specialty roll, but it tasted delicious. The best thing about this spot is the location. It is right on the harbor and I have never had a problem with seating here, even though they only have a little corner and all seating is outside. read more

Sushi GoGo is a tiny hole in the wall restaurant located right in front of the harbor, and where the main walk way is for foot traffic. If we weren't in the midst of a pandemic, I wouldn't mind the amount of people that were coming in and out of this place. Unfortunately, on my visit I was overwhelmed with anxiety because nobody was practicing social distancing here! Thank goodness people were wearing their masks though, but still this place really needs to re-think the way they are operating and set up some boundaries. My son was in the mood for sushi, and since we had taken a nice walk along the breakwater we decided to stop here. We waited for almost 30 minutes for our food, not sure if that's a normal wait time for this place or if it was due to how busy they were. In any case, it was well worth the wait! I haven't dined here before, but I have to say in my opinion the sushi here was the best I've had for the prices they charge. The snowcone roll was my son's choice, and it definitely did not look like the picture on the menu! So, if you look at my picture that is what it really looks like. It's more of a baked sushi, and served warm. I tried it, and it was really good! My son loved it as well. The Go Go roll is what I ordered, and it was topped with spicy tuna. The tuna wasn't really spicy; at least for my taste buds, but the roll was very fresh and overall it was delicious. I honestly was impressed with the quality of food we were served here, and I think this will be my new go to spot for sushi! It will definitely be TO GO, and we will not be dining here at the restaurant until COVID-19 disappears. For now, I'm rating it 3 stars because of the way they are operating during COVID-19, but the food here is really good so I will rate that as 4 stars. No bad for a to go sushi place. This place seemed to be one of the busier places right now at the marina harbor with the pandemic. It does get crowded so it may take a while to get your order. We kind of got lucky as there was one or two customers right before us but a lot that were waiting for their order. Honestly didn't even looked at the menu as they had a special that outside of the door that caught our attention. A couple piece of spicy tuna cut roll, California roll, tempura, rice salad and teriyaki chicken for a good price. Once we ordered, it took a little while till the food was ready. Guess it had to be fresh which was good. But with the view of the harbor and boats, that helped with the waiting time. Food was good and it did the trick. The takeaway menu did have a good selctions or rolls and dishes. Only downfall was that, even though they had a sign on the door that mask needed to be worn when entering, we've seen people just go in without any. read more

Best Sushi Take out in Town - Fresh as it gets right in the Santa Barbara Harbor! portion sizes are large and very adequate. Daily specials are a great value. Their miso soup is definitely one of the best in town. Their staff is always responsive and helpful. They are our go to sushi restaurant for takeout for our family events! First time in Santa Barbara and someone had told me to stop by this little shop. I came here with no expectations, I'm very particular with my sushi ESPECIALLY RAW FISH. I walked inside and it looked a little tight and a little uncomfortable. I ordered the Sushi GoGo special, Red Dragon, caterpillar, and chef choice #2. Every single piece of fish was super fresh and not like other places they give you paper thin sashimi pieces. The TUNA was insane, amazing flavor and texture. Probably the only thing I would say....it does look a little sloppy when you open the box but the taste....ONLY place I've ever actually tasted the sushi vinegar on the rice. If I'm ever back in Santa Barbara, I'm definitely coming back. P.S I'm a Japanese trained 5 year Sushi chef....so maybe that would help Itadakimasu!!! read more

I like the ratio of fish to rice ratio on their Nigiri. The fish was not fishy, but also didn't really have much of a flavor. But the only the uni was slightly fishy. I probably would give them another chance to see if it was just a one-time fluke but overall the size of the portions are actually pretty good and I like how the wasabi had a nice kick, versus a lot of other places having their Wasabi taste like powder read more

We came here for the Santa Barbara fish market but unfortunately they already ran out of uni. We ended up finding this hole in the wall sushi shack that did have uni!! It was the literally definition of hole in wall with only standing room for 2 people. They were working so hard in the back and was clearly busy but they forgot our order for 30 minutes. When I came in to ask they ended up needing to make a whole new order :/ the sashimi was still frozen but tasted really good (after it was defrosted in our mouths) and uni was obviously fresh straight from the water front catch. Large menu with lots of options I ordered the aloha roll with spicy tuna cucumber and albacore on top. Ordered to go as there is hardly any seating outside , maybe 4 tables Food came out pretty quick and looked great. Taste was good and fresh but not rolled tightly at all. I went to pick up a piece and it was one, stuck to the bottom of the container and two, not tightly rolled so it fell apart. Busy and congested area but fun to be down on the water. read more

It's a very small shop, with outdoor seating along the harbor to enjoy sunny days and the water. We got a few different rolls and nigiri, but my favorites were absolutely the baked lobster and baked eel rolls. They melt in your mouth and the flavors don't overpower each other.
