Teriyaki chicken was dry, but I decided to give them a second chance and ordered the chicken she burrito. Dryyyyyyyyy There's not enough water in the Mission to make this chicken moist at all. Hey at least I gave it to tries that was Your last chance.

Their was only one guy working which concerned me (there is only one person handling food and money??) but it was my only lunch option that except for burgers. I took a chance and ordered the organic tempeh sushi burrito. The cook/cashier/greeter was very pleasant an explained the menu item to me. Unfortunately, the sushi burrito was so soggy inside and bland. The size was good for the price but it was way too much liquid inside and I was disappointed that they didn't offer brown rice as an option. I would not eat here again; especially, since the two times that I have seen them, they have been out of the veggie bowl.

Shoubu was parked at one of our favorite local spots:The Block. Even though I was craving fish and chips, once I saw there was sushi burritos, I abandoned ship and made a beeline for the white & Grey, sakura-covered trick that is Shoubu. Ordered the Salmon sashimi burrito whole size for $12 or $13. It came with a small serving of soy sauce and a large serving of wasabi. Super yummy. Would get it again. The only downside is the thin white paper it was wrapped in that quickly becomes soggy and drippy.

The Tuna here is much better then the poke bowl at the local restaurant I go to sometimes.

The sushi place I went to the previous night left me unsatisfied and yearning for more and better sushi. As an introvert, I prefer to come to restaurants on their off hours. To my surprise, even at 1:30 PM the place was busy. There were plenty of tables, but there were also plenty of patrons. Most of them were Korean, which is always a good sign when you go to a Korean/Japanese restaurant. The server and she was the only one was extremely nice. In her younger days, I'm sure she would've passed for a K-pop star. I knew what I wanted from the menu because I searched their website the night before. I ordered the 25 piece sashimi dish. It comes with a salad and miso soup. The salad was tasty with a nice light dressing that didn't overpower the other foods. The miso soup was perfect. It was not too salty as the other place that I had visited. The star of the afternoon was the sashimi plate. It came out on the bed of ice that was huge! My eyes bulged when I saw how much food was on there. In today's shrink-flation I was expecting smaller portions but I was wrong. There were so many varieties of fish that all tasted amazing. I'm not a big fan of octopus, but this one was perfect. It wasn't chewy and the sizes were small enough to fit in my mouth without feeling like I ate a large rubber band. I'm not sure of all the fish that were on there, but most of them would qualify as my favorites. I'm so glad they did not add the omelette thingy that I absolutely hate. Between the sashimi, the miso soup, and the salad I was completely satisfied and happy. I know there are other places in Santa Rosa that are probably better, but this will be my go to place when I'm craving sushi sashimi. They also have Korean dishes, but I've not tried any of them yet. Perhaps the next visit, I will try them out. Maybe what I will do is order the smaller 15 pieces and add a Korean dish. Many thanks to the chefs and the server for a magnificent experience.g

We were served by the amazing Chef Gary Chu himself, and he made customized meals based on our preferences. We were the last people to leave, and we didn't feel rushed at all. Sitting at the bar is a great option if you want to watch most of your food being made and if you want to talk to Gary! My husband isn't a fan of raw fish, and Gary converted him that night! F O O D: Everything tasted amazing. I had the best sashimi I've had in a while, and the cuts of the fish were fresh, melted in my mouth. The martini shrimps were delicious as well - nice crunchy flavor with carrots, and the sea urchin with toast was something out of this world! I guess partly because I didn't realize the ownership of Osake. The experience at Osake was great, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and has really pretty decorative wall hangings. For appetizers we ordered the Martini Prawns (based on other reviews) and the spicy garlic edamame. The prawns were delicious and served in a martini glass - think walnut prawns sauce for taste but comes without the walnuts. The edamame had a garlic teriyaki sauce on them - which I haven't had before and enjoyed. For lunch I had the Marilyn Monroll (cute play on words) shrimp tempura, crab salad, scallops and spicy sauce. I'd order this again, so good with the crunch and the spicy sauce. My daughter had the dynamite roll - smoked salmon baked and drizzled with spicy sauce. We both finished our order- no complaints here. There is also plenty of parking. Worth checking out if you haven't been.
