We came out to Pahrump to visit my mom this weekend. I saw this place was one of the top rated places in Pahrump so we wanted to try them out! We got seated right away and the waitress was very friendly and made suggestions on the menu. She was holding down the place on her own and I wanted to give her kudos because she also had several to-go orders. She was attentive and brought our rolls to the table as soon as they came out. Sadly I did not get her name. My husband and I got the Hawaiian and Apache roll.I also got the baked green mussels. My mom got the Grand Canyon and Rainbow Roll. All the rolls were good! One note- my mom wanted to get the ramen but the menu stated it's a seasonal item only from October to April... understandable because it was 110 that day and I'm sure hot soup is not a commodity during the blazing summer in Pahrump. The sushi is priced right, however just about everything else is over priced. The 1/2 order of rice $8 in a bowl smaller than a cereal bowl. The egg rolls were NOT egg rolls they were spring rolls and small, also over priced. We were not asked if we wanted anything to drink, nor did our waitress come back to the table. This is a great little sushi place in the middle of nowhere. I was a little skeptical when we first pulled up but was pleasantly surprised. The inside is nice and we went to the party room in the back of the restaurant since we had a big group. They have a pretty extensive list of rolls. I don't remember the names of what we ordered but everything was great. The pricing is amazing and half of what we normally pay for sushi. Their house salad was simple but so delish. I love this restaurant BUT I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM DOORDASH AGAIN, AND I WOULD RECOMMEND EVERYBODY NEVER ORDER FROM DOORDASH AGAIN! I entered an order. I had a promo code It would not allow me to apply it I thought perhaps it was on the checkout so I hit next to go there and it just put it through. I immediately hit the Help button. I got someone very quickly came right on a chat And I told him what happened and he said I'll take care of that for you and I heard him tapping away on his little keyboard and then he came back and he said oh the status has just changed and you could no longer get that promo? It didn't get in on time? I asked him so if I canceled the order, will I get a refund and then I can just do it again But he wouldn't answer me So without responding, he just canceled the order? And that would've been fine except that he didn't refund anything to my credit card card And I spent the next four hours trying to get somebody anyone to give me a refund They told me I'll just order it again. We'll take care of that later. We'll get it done. Yeah, I'm just gonna order again and pay another $60 and change After four and a half hours I finally did get a refund I re-ordered and they delivered it without following the delivery directions I had a Zoom meeting at 7 PM Someone called me at like 6:57. I told him I have a meeting at seven. I can't talk now. Yeah ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya. He says to me, but I want a manager to call you back so we can see if we can make you happy... So he says when can I call you back or tell him 9:30 PM Pacific time that would be an hour and a half from now So he says I'll have someone call you tonight. I said no not tonight not till an hour and a half. It cannot be before 9 PM Pacific time. I'd rather be at 9:30 to be certain. So I went to the meeting unprepared because I spent the four hours before trying to get that refund resolved Spent the first 15 minutes of the meeting on the phone with him for trying to get him to understand he couldn't call me until 930 or call me tomorrow. Well which one do you want arguing with me going around in circles with me what kind of customer service is this? I'm not talking about sushi now. I'm talking about DoorDash. Don't ever order from DoorDash! They are scammers and try to find any reason not to give you a full refund? Kept telling me oh they can't give me the service fees in the order fee or whatever it is back almost $10. They're gonna keep because they canceled my order? So by the time all this is done now, my order is being delivered during this meeting, which would've been no big deal except they can't follow directions so they delivered it in the wrong place and I had to stop what I was doing and go get it. How to fight with a door that doesn't work correctly because they can't follow directions Popped up now they want to review during my meeting I'm so mad I stopped what I'm doing and I put it in And it's all negative I don't know why I can't imagine... So they call me during the meeting. I tell him I can't talk when they call me. It knocks me off the meeting two times knocked off the meeting and one time interrupted by the delivery. And let's not forget I started doing this order at 2:15 in the afternoon that meeting didn't start till seven! So after the meeting, I called them back With the number wasn't a number for a manager it's just a regular Customerservice person and she says what do you want me to do? I said I just wanted to report it when I first started talking to the people on Help. I got hung up on in chat with eight different representatives eight count them 12345678 Hung up on me, wasted 4 1/2 hours of my life DONT EVER ORDER FROM DOOR DASH! It makes me sad because I really do enjoy Sushi Yong-- But I prefer delivery than going by myself? And that is the only delivery service that they are listed on So unless I am willing to drive over there and pick it up and bring it home right now, my car is having trouble anyway. Well, I guess I'm not gonna get to eat there because I will never ever and I would suggest that nobody ever order from DoorDash. The reason being I would like all of those representatives, the two managers I spoke with to end up without jobs because they don't know how to do their jobs SO THE MESSAGE HERE IS SUSHI. This is only the second time I have tried this place. We went when it first opened and it was not the greatest experience. We tried again this weekend. There will not be another try. My wife ordered the pork Tonkatsu. It was burnt and they tried to hide the fact with sauce. There was another review from January that stated the same thing and that the blame was put on their fryer. So either their fryer is isn't working the way it should for months now or they are not changing the oil out as frequently as they should. The eggroll was also burnt. The side salad was wilted and covered with dressing to try and hide this. How anyone could look at a plate and still pass it on to server to bring it out like that says something. Have a little pride in your food and stop putting out something that is "good enough". It's not. The servers were nice enough, but the food was not. read more

Ok Pahrump and Las Vegas you got to come here on a Monday. I don't know another chef comes in with innovated cooking styles and sauces. I tried the Chirashi Don and if ur a sashimi fan u will not won't go back after trying this sashimi. My wife had the teriyaki veggies and my brother had the pork belly ramen. The teriyaki veggies with Chef Vera sauce had my mouth watering for more. The pork belly ramen OMG Chef Vera you out done your self. The pork belly ramen was so tender it melted in your mouth leaving your mouth watering for more. Haven't eaten here for awhile since the last time was horrible. Went today with a group of ladies for lunch. Ordered chicken teriyaki don. By the time my food came which was second to last everyone else was done eating. How hard is it to make a simple dish. Last time their pork tonkatsu was burnt. They said its because of their fryer. Tonkatsu should be a nice golden brown not a dark brown. Server took awhile to bring another cup of ice and to refill water flask. Granted our party was like 18 people. It is nice to see an actual sushi restaurant in Pahrump that has good fish quality. The service does remain a little rocky. We do think it will improve and will return. The lunch special we enjoyed included 7 pieces of nigiri and a basic roll. My favorite roll is generally always the Philadelphia roll. This restaurant just opened. The sign says "breakfast, sushi, ramen" but they don't open (at least not today) until noon. The lettuce and greens on the house salad were very fresh. The salad was not over dressed and it was a healthy portion for the price. The garlic edamame are a must order. The sauce at the bottom of the dish is almost drinkable. I ordered the garlic albacore nigiri! I will order it every time I come here. The flavors were very well balanced. All in all a great experience. They were very busy but staff was hustling to keep people eating and moving but we did not feel rushed. The kitchen had no problem keeping up with orders. I am surprised by the type of negative reviews I see because I've dined in 8 times since December & have not been disappointed. I am pescatarian for crab meat only, otherwise I'm vegetarian. I've tried every crab sushi roll on the menu & have been pleased every time. Everything comes out hot & fast even with a full house. The service is very good. Someone mentioned Courtney by name in a negative way but she was very attentive & professional when she was our server, I had no complaints. I've seen some inconsistency in all 3 servers regarding the pep in their step but I understand they aren't robots. I still received everything I asked for & never felt ignored. Everything is always clean & put together. My parents have gotten takeout quite a few times & are always happy with it. My entire family LOVES this place. Being new to Pahrump, I haven't had the chance to experience this town without Sushi Yong, and I'm not sure I'd want to. Being from California, my fiancé loves sushi, and this was an absolute delight to stumble across in town. The prices were good, the portions were nice, and they had a good selection of sushi rolls. I very much enjoyed having the option of getting a server or using the order tablet. My fiancé and I happened to come for dinner on a night where we needed to be quick with our meal, the tablet worked perfectly for that. This was my first time stopping by. I heard nothing but good things so I stopped by while being out for a walk. The restaurant is closed on Monday but does serve brunch & bento boxes. I was greeted by a very friendly gentleman. I predominantly eat more plant based but I'm not strict. Anyhow I ordered the mango sticky rice. I wanted to dine in because I had time to spare. I was told they only had a seat on a bench in the corner which only gave me the option to eat my food in my lap with no table. So I took the food to go. I've never tried mango sticky rice before so was bewildered when I opened the box at home. The rice was very mushy & overcooked & it had very little pieces of mango. I ordered a couple of specialty rolls from Sushi Yong through DoorDash--the Spider Roll and the Dragon Roll--and I was seriously impressed. Sometimes sushi delivery can be hit or miss, but this was a total hit. The Spider Roll had that perfect crunch from the soft-shell crab, and the balance of textures was spot on. Not too soggy, not too dry--just crispy tempura goodness wrapped in fresh rice and nori, with a little kick from the sauce that really brought it all together. The Dragon Roll was beautifully layered with creamy avocado and tender eel, with just the right amount of sweet glaze. It held together well (a big plus when you're eating sushi at home), and every bite had that rich, melt-in-your-mouth quality I look for in a good unagi roll. Portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and the presentation--yes, even in a delivery container--was thoughtful and appealing. It's clear these folks take pride in their food. I came on a Monday and they had a much smaller menu than normal. Their coffee machines had malfunctioned and they couldn't make me standard black coffee. We choose pork belly ramen. The soup was incredible delicious and the pork belly was so so tender. They were able to bring me a cup of coffee after all and gave it to me free of charge. Very friendly family restaurant vibe.
