We came here for my dad's birthday and got a private tour of the brewery which was interesting and fun. The taproom is smaller but quaint and of course they brew delicious beers here. They do events, like trivia night! in the larger space where beers are brewed, which is really neat! read more

Best brewery in NEPA (ok, IMO). I've always said I'm not a beer drinker, but the amazing fruit beers here have made a complete liar out of me. Their blueberry, raspberry and orange are my favorites. But their seasonal ones, such as peach are friggin' amazing as well! They don't serve food here, but often have food trucks on site. They also have trivia nights and other events here. I follow them on FB so I can see what is going on! They always have something!!! read more

Really cool brewery with very interesting flavors. my favorite part? the 8.50 for a flight, 4 different types of beers to choose from. im from jersey, and our flights are usually $12 and up. what a steal! i appreciated the unique flavors of every beer i had. the service was good, and i enjoyed sitting outside under their tent. their tap room is cute, very clean, and the bathrooms werre spotless. the food we got was hit or miss. its basically, bar food with a kick. first off, the cheese steak by date got was HUGE, but he said it was simple. not your philly cheesesteak at all. just thin cut steakems kinda steak, cheese, and a sub roll. I got the fried cauliflower with the garlic parm flavor. i wouldnt get this again. the amount of batter on the cauliflower is outrageous and not needed. it was basically all fried batter. the garlic parm sauce was amazing. you wanted flavor? well, here it is. i think they need to use this recipe for pasta. i didnt hate the cauliflower, but i am just suggesting to have a lighter hand on that batter..i think if that were the key, i would have enjoyed these more. the star of the show were the fries. again, they brought the flavor. the cheese sauce was absolutely delicious. these fries were so good! id also like to state, we ordered these 3 food items from the food truck thats outside, they are part of of the brewery, but i think they do their own thing too... i cant remember their name. the brewery itself has its own menu, but its very simple like meats and cheeses (non cooked items). read more

This is primarily a younger person's venue. Live music is a plus and there was a band in the back brewing bay. There's also a large parking lot and close to Route 81. A food truck was on premises. The tasting area is small but away from the volume of loud music. Many co-eds from neighboring colleges. It's a brightly lighted and vibrant atmosphere. If you're looking for a sit down, conversation atmosphere this may not be your place but if you're younger and enjoy the energy of a younger crowd than this is definitely your place. There were stacks of cases of beer available so it appears to be equally a distribution hub. I love the fact that they promote live music. Rate the beers on your own. read more

The people that work there are warm and friendly. We were hiking in the morning on a Saturday so arrived around lunch time and it was not extremely crowded. We ordered flights of beer and everything was delicious! The strawberries and cream is my new favorite beer! I had my service dog with me and at first they were not very welcoming and they wanted to see his papers. I stumbled on Susquehanna Brewing while wandering between Plains and Pittston. Traffic was backed up to the SBC parking lot so I came in for a beer. The have a good beer selection and plenty of prepackaged munchies. I tried the Hopcellerator, which was decent (3.75 on untapped). The have a variety fruit and sour ales, with cans, crowlers, and growlers to go. The tasting area is small but cozy with 20 seats and areas to stand. Nice job. Not far from I-81. read more

What a cute little brewery with great beers. I always find these great breweries on my travels and wish it was closer. They be has a nice variety of beers to choose from but I tried all the fruity ones with the cask and strawberries and cream being my favorite. They reminded me of a cider because they were so light but flavorful. The parking lot seems pretty big considering that it doesn't seem like to heavily of traffic but I can only imagine it on event nights. I love that when you can see the brewery from the tasting room, it really adds to the experience. Great brewery located in between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. I was up here for an overnight trip and decided to pay them a visit. I've seen their beers in local stores before - but hadn't read up much about them since I don't think they distribute to New Jersey. The facility is massive - although parking in front can be a little tight, there's plenty of space on the side of the building and just a quick walk to the front. On the day that I was there, they had a special release event going on for their blueberry ale - you can tell how massive their following is by how many people came out to celebrate. While most breweries rope off the production faculties, while I was there, the whole floor was open - and they actually seemed to encourage you to explore. In fact, they had a corn hole tournament going on while I was there and the boards were setup all over the brewery production floor. Although the tasting room was a little crowded (on account of the event I suppose) they did have a second bar setup in the production area - and lines moved very quickly. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area - and don't forget to put a growler in your car before you leave home! read more

Visited for a flight of some of their IPAs and to try their Radler. No problems with the beer, but plastic sample cups don't make for a great presentation. Staff was friendly and quick, plus everyone was wearing masks that I witnessed. The Food Truck had a long line, so I skipped it. Wow, interesting heavy beers. Good variety of mixes from IPAs to rich stouts. The flight is a good price with full pours. I loved the Toes Up Coffee Stout, full coffee taste without syrupy. This place has a Gold Medal from the Beer World Cup for a reason. Susquehanna Brewing is located right outside Scranton making it the perfect place to stop on our way back to Philly. The location is pretty small and doesn't offer food but their beers pack a punch. When we pulled it up we made it right in time for the 4pm brewery tour. There was probably 12 people on the tour, making it relatively intimate. The tour was lead by a sales guy - he claimed all the brewers just happened to be on vacation. Overall, he was pretty good at giving a tour and made it pretty interesting. It was pretty hot in the brewery so be prepared! There is a cold room off to the side - which was nice relief after sweltering by the fermentation tanks. It's very cool that Susquehanna does contract brewing. They have cases of stuff from Forgotten Boardwalk, Dockstreet Brewery, and Evil Genius. It's pretty interesting. From the tour you get 1 free beer, which is pretty nice. I ended up trying Shady Spot, Sunny Spot, and their Belgian. I REALLY enjoyed Sunny Spot which is their grapefruit beer but their belgian was also good. I prefer Cage Radler from Victory over their Gold Medal Shady Spot but that's just a personal preference. Susquehanna is a great brewery and I really enjoy their beers. I'm not sure if it's worth a return (because no food) visit but I will continue to drink their beers! read more

Went to this place after another brewery we found was closed. Came here on a Friday afternoon. Were able to sit at the bar top. The bartender she was very friendly and easy to talk to. She told us about the new bar and how long they have been around. All the staff that came to the bar talked to us cause they noticed our stickers on our water bottle because they we were from out of town. Was able to have a 20 minute conversation with the head brewery cause he was done with his shift. These beers were great! The pils-noir was awesome! Then everything else was great. We bought a bottle of their barrel aged Stout and then bought a variety pack. Next time I am in the area I will come back here! Great place! Cheers! read more

Going into this event, I didn't know what to expect. All I knew was that as of about a year or so ago, SBC came out of know where and flooded the local market with their beer in every bar and restaurant. It's amazing how much following they have and support of consumers and restaurant/bar owners. I was there for a charity event to support the Boston Marathon bombing. Don't believe SBC is open to the public. Just only for non-profit events. Don't quote me on that. They did a great job with the event. There was live music and free Brewery tours. Have a great time. Cool venue to stop in and have a beer. They also offer a tour of their facilities. We were able to stroll through the facility on a Sunday tour (free to attend). Our guide was one of the several people who work there help assists in brewing the beer made there. Our guide had a great sense of humor and kept the tour moving without making us feel rushed. After the tour we lounged in the tasting room and samples several of the beers that had on tap (7 on tap that day). They unfortunately did not offer any food services but the flight (4 beers 5oz each) was great and fairly priced. If they had food service on site would have stayed far far longer. read more

If you love Heffeweizen this is your beer ;) If you have never toured SBC check it out on Saturday's at 2pm. Loooove SBC! If you want to find the best local beer go here. They make the best fruity beers I've ever had. Depending on the season there is a blueberry, lemon, grapefruit, raspberry or orange. Every week on Thursdays they have a special cask beer that usually only lasts 2 days.. 3 at most. It's fun to go and try it. We joined the membership club for $60 and you get a growler and any 5 growler fills of your choosing. They just stamp your card every time you go and get a fill. The tour is offered on Saturdays and Sundays is great and very informative. You also get a free beer at the end! read more

My wife and I tend to pick new cities and go brewery hopping to see what the world of craft beer has to offer. We have both had some of Susquehanna's offerings in the past but it was nice to go right to the brewery. The two bartenders in the tasting room were friendly, and the beer was good, fresh and cold. Our favorites were their cask of the week (cranberry and shandy) as well as the sunny spot (grapefruit shandy). Their lager was surprisingly good and easy to drink. It was my first brewery tour and it did not disappoint! They offer free tours on Saturdays at 2pm given by the owner (?) himself, who was clearly very passionate about their operations and his enthusiasm is contagious. He was very patient answering all questions on the tour, during which he walked us through the whole brewing process. They have a bar area where you can lounge around with a beer and some friends, and there is a food truck outside with delicious eats (definitely get the truffle fries!). I tried 2 of their beers, a porter which I can't remember the name of, and Shady Spot, which is a summer shandy and has quickly become a favorite summer drink for me. Their beers are all around ~$4 for a pint, if I remember correctly. I think will slowly become a local gem in the next few years. read more

I visited for a tour - and I would recommend that anyone who's in the area stop by! The tour was so interesting and informative - it was given by the brewer, which make it all the better. One of the best brewery tours I have ever been on. They give out free samples and all of their beers are amazing. Their Shandy is the best I have ever had and the Pils Noir is so different and delicious. Their hefeweizen, pumpkin, Oktoberfest, IPA...honestly, all of them are wonderful. Stopped by for some brews and something to eat. Beer service was great! Fresh and cold. Ordered "A Hot Mess" or something along those words; from The Food truck. Our food ordered got lost; but when it did finally arrived it was delicious. Fries were hot and crisp, bites had alittle kick from the srichaha sauce, smothered In a homemade cheese sauce. The manager did apologize and said they have a new system they are working with; no worries my husband and I enjoyed being outside enjoying the hot Summer heat. With COVID-19 going on; currently you must order food when ordering alcoholic beverages. They even had a hotdog on the menu for $1.50! Remember to wear your face mask when walking to and from your table and to use the restrooms. SBC also has a growler membership for $60; which it includes a growler and 5 refills.
