My mom sent me an early Valentine's bouquet, and though it was a pretty bouquet, it wasn't at all what she ordered. She called back and they immediately tried to rectify the situation, which is why I'm giving them two stars instead of one. She told me she had originally wanted two dozen carnations in valentine's day colors, so they quickly sent me a new boutique and switched out the wrong one for it. While it was a pretty bouquet, would you pay $75 plus tax and delivery for only ONE dozen carnations and some greenery? I understand prices are going up everywhere, but I could go down to my local Safeway and buy a dozen carnations for less than $10, add on a vase, greenery and tax, and it would probably come out to about $30 at the most. Even if I doubled that price for the cost of labor and other miscellaneous expenses that businesses incur, for something that probably only took 5 to 10 minutes to put together, it would come out to far less than $75. If nothing else, when doing the math at the quoted price of $3.25 per carnation (12x$3.25=$39), $10 for the vase, plus the greenery & labor, I should have gotten a bit more carnations than 12, or at least some other flowers included in with it like the original bouquet. That one had 8 roses, 4 carnations, lilies, daisies and a few other flowers I couldn't name. My mom never likes to complain about anything, so it was difficult for her to call and let them know she wasn't happy with the original arrangement, let alone call back a second time to question the cost of the new arrangement I received. In the end, when she saw the new bouquet, she just decided to chalk it up to a lesson learned and said from now on she will go back to ordering flowers online. She really wanted to try to support a local business, but at these prices for a bouquet with only one dozen carnations, has decided it's just not worth it. As I said, they did try to make it right, and the person trying to rectify the situation certainly has no control over pricing, but would anyone in their right minds pay $75 plus tax and delivery for a vase with only one dozen carnations in it?! I know prices vary, especially close to Valentine's Day, but it's not like she was ordering a dozen roses! Personally, I think the original incorrect arrangement they sent was closer to the $75 price point than these carnations ever could be. If I had known I would only be getting a dozen carnations for the same price, I would have insisted to my mother that I keep the original arrangement instead. read more

They really came through!! In a time of sickness and forgetting the elderly- I thought of my Grandma. I'm usually able to visit her weekly but I won't be able to for a bit. Instead, I ordered her flowers to remind her of me. I went through a company called "flowershopping.com" to get them to her on Sunday. Not only did they charge more but they never showed up. On FB and Yelp there is no way to review them, that's the first sign of a bad company. I was sad, I called this company and the owner was understanding. She delivered the flowers I bought today, with chocolates, and a smile!! I can't post pictures but I can say that my grandpa called me with a mouth full of "very good chocolates" that she said she was going to eat for dinner. I am so happy we found this florist on yelp. My fiance and I were in town for his mom's birthday and we wanted to get her some fresh flowers, but we were on a limited budget. I wish I remembered the name of the lady who helped us because she was so kind, and helped us put something beautiful together. I told her my future mother in law loved the color purple, so we picked some purple flowers and she even found some purple "filler" to make our flowers even more beautiful! I needed to place an order for flowers for Mother's Day, so a Google search suggested Sutcliffe. Their website advertised many arrangements with buttons for "order now for Mother's Day delivery". I selected my arrangement and placed my order. About an hour later on my way out of the house for the day, they called me saying that they were no longer taking orders for Mother's Day. I asked why their website was accepting orders and they just said they only had so many drivers and weren't able to honor the order. I told them to cancel the order. In the end, I found another florist with the exact same arrangement for $10 less. They were able to do the delivery. I don't understand why Sutcliffe can't update their website with a message when they are unable to make a delivery on a big day like Mother's Day. read more

She asked me a ton of questions about what I wanted when we first started working, and requested a series of photos for inspiration. She came up with a bouquet/centerpiece theme and an associated quote within a week. She was very accommodating and worked with me to get to a price point I was happy with. Our Dad had passed away in Flagstaff and I was in Hawaii. I arrived in Flagstaff 2 days before the funeral and went to see Kelly at Sutcliffe Floral. It was as if I was working with a family member!! Today is Valentines Day and due to a very busy life I waited until the last minute to have a bouquet delivered to my daughter who attends a University within miles of Sutcliffe Floral. Kendra was calm, professional and friendly and said without hesitation that her company could arrange a teddy bear with candies and roses to deliver to her Residence Hall..even this afternoon! I worked with Kelly at Sutcliffe on the flowers for my wedding. I found communication with Kelly to be very difficult. I often had to call and leave several messages before Kelly would return my call. Because I was planning my wedding from a distance, Kelly suggested that I email her some pictures of flowers that I liked. I spent a substantial amount of time compiling pictures and descriptions to try and be as helpful as possible. After doing this, Kelly admitted that she was having trouble accessing her email and never looked at the pictures. The day of the wedding, we picked up our flowers only to find that the main flower that I had ordered was not present in the arrangements. When I called about it, I learned that my flowers were still sitting in a bucket in the store and that Kelly had forgotten to add them to the arrangements. Our wedding site was an hour away from the shop and they did not even offer to deliver the missing flowers. I had to call around to guests and vendors looking for someone able to pick up the flowers. Finally a server was able to pick them up and my caterer did the arranging. It took over a week for Kelly to call and apologize to me (and once again, this was only after I called and left several messages). She only offered to compensate me for ~5% of the total cost. Sutcliffe, and Kelly in particular, has no sense of good customer service and I truly regret using them for my wedding. read more

Last month, Sutcliffe Floral had an order place from my company. The flowers that we recieved were ABSOLUTLEY HORRIBLE!!!! We paid over $300.00 for ALL Carnations. Not only were the flowers super expensive, but we were very ashamed about how our visitors commented on the centerpiece. Which was 5 (multi-colored) Carnations and filler greens. This place would be getting no stars if that was an option. We ordered a wreath for my grandfathers funeral and they wanted to charge a ridicules amount for delivery. We decided to avoid that charge and pick it up. Only to find out once my newly-widowed grandma went to pick it up that they were charging her $200 for a wreath hardly worth $50. I am truly disappointed with this florist. I am originally from Flagstaff and lived here for nearly 35 years. I chose Sutcliffe Floral because I knew them by reputation as a reliable small local business. I ordered 3 boutonnieres and a corsage, made from red roses for my wedding. The total cost was $60. The product I received was my first disappointment. The 3 boutonnieres were nothing more than a single red rosebud, with the stem wrapped in white ribbon and a pin, each priced at $12.50. Nothing wrong with it except that I could have done it myself and saved a ton of money. The day prior to the wedding, we took our wedding photos. 2 of the 3 boutonniere stems broke in the pinning and we weren't able to use them for our wedding photos. My step-mother used to work in a florist shop and fortunately she was able to fix them for the ceremony, but did note that none of the boutonnieres were wired and that the blossoms weren't fresh. I called Kelly, the owner, on the following Monday (they were already closed for the weekend when the problems occurred) and she was quite polite and volunteered to refund some of my money. However, the arranged refund ended up being only 50% of the cost of the boutonnieres (a grand total of $16.41.) DO NOT use this merchant! Product was sub-par and designs are mediocre at best. Had I known this was the quality I was going to receive here, I would have purchased my own flowers and saved myself $60. This was the only negative experience in my entire wedding process. read more

Went to the shop on Monday to ask for a corsage and boutinere - expensive ($18 and $28) but hey, special occasion- white spray roses, purple limonium, and tuber rose- confirmed on Wednesday- (with increased cost $6 more) for the tuber rose- but- hey special occasion. So I get a call Saturday prom day 2 hours before last chance pick up time- no spray roses, no limonium, so they substitute larger roses and purple gladiolus bud - they don't have much choice in the shop today- but trust us we are the experts. Sadly, the single larger rose in the corsage was already bruised - even before taking out of the box. I express my disappointment and the owner pulls the boxes back and says I won't sell them to you. So 3 hours before prom - I'm stuck- either I kowtow to get the less than promised - already paid for boxes back from the "we already have a great customer base" owner- or head to Michaels and Safeway for supplies. Unfortunately- the time was already spoken for on the special occasion. Had I known on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday...Sadly, sadly. never again Sutcliffe. read more

I have used Sutcliffe Floral for years; however, after this last Mother's Day order I will never use them again! I placed an order via their on-line website and the following day received a phone call asking me to add more money to the order so my mom could receive something nice. There was nothing on their website regarding additional fees for Mother's Day. After speaking with my mom, I learned they called her and asked her for more money prior to calling me! Who ever heard of a florist calling the recipient and asking them for more money for the flowers that she hadn't received yet and were supposed to be a surprise?!?! I called the owner and spoke directly with her in hopes of rectifying this awful situation; however, she simply made excuses (We are now with FTD and they are the middle man requiring additional fees, I'm too busy to call you directly - hence the need for the young employee's call - due to graduation and Mother's Day, etc.). I am shocked by Sutcliffe Florals lack of professionalism and having absolutely no desire to hold onto what once used to be a satisfied customer - for 20+ years. If you are truly that busy and that desperate for additional funds, maybe it's time to close up shop. read more
