If I'd seen the Yelp reviews before we went to this Jewelers, we wouldn't have bothered. However, the first jewelers we found recommended them so off we went. I love it when I walk into a store and am welcomed in and told they will be right with me. That didn't happen. I almost walked out, but I had a broken piece of jewelry and really wanted to see if it could be fixed. Plus Hubby told me to be patient. I am so glad I was! The real Jeweler had just stepped out, but the lady who helped us was amazing! She was able to fix my earring right away, and was happy to help. Turned out to be a very nice lady! I have given this family plenty of my money and have always got my wife stuff from this store but this was the last straw. Every time I go in to pick something up for a resize or they have to order something for an item I pay for the product/service TWICE. I have been very professional with the owner in there but they will hold your jewelry hostage and charge you twice. Even if you have receipts they will say that was a mistake and they never charged you for it. Big lies and very confusing. It was a learning curve for me for sure. I spent somewhere around 3-4k a year for my wife's special gifts there and will never return. read more

Took my silver cuff here to be repaired and cleaned. They had my watch for almost 3 months and failed many times to call with updates throughout the process, and when they did finally call me it was to update me on what I already had been told? Very confusing and frustrating. When I went to pick up my watch while it does work, it was not cleaned and I was lectured about how that was seemingly my fault for bringing them a vintage item? I would take my jewelry anywhere else but here, really disappointed with the service and communication. read more

*I am reviewing this shop simply as it relates to Citizen watches. I have not looked, or purchased any of their other jewelry. I have gone here several times as they are the only ones in flagstaff who deal with Citizen watches. I brought my Nighthawk WR 200 in to try and find a new band as mine had been driven over (Yes, driven over). I asked to see the catalog of bands that were rubber or steel. The saleswoman immediately pulls out a leather band in gold (a color I told her I hated) and tries to sell it to me. I reminded her of exactly what I was looking for, and she continued to attempt to sell me the leather band. She was pushy enough that I walked out. A few months later I called to see if they had replacement pins to put my new band on (I went online, a lot cheaper). The woman on the phone immediately said yes. When I went in ten minutes later, they did not have what I was looking for at all. The saleswoman (same one) kept asking me about my watch so she could order the pins, but failed to ask the size of the watch (22 mm). A week later when I went in, I found myself again without pins for my watch, this time with no certain date for the pins to come in. My experience here has been awful. Their sales people are pushy, and unfamiliar with Citizen watches as a whole. From my experience, they are trying to sell and repair a product they know nothing about except from the pictures in catalogs. 25 seconds on the Citizen site and I found exactly what I was looking for, No hassle, and much cheaper than Mcnabbs. Bring your watch somewhere else. I cannot stress this enough. I have several citizen watches. I will NEVER let these people touch them. read more

I went in to see if they had an extender for my vintage turquoise necklace and he pulled on the strand I saw the wire at the time I thought why would you do that you deal in fine jewelry he told me he could restring it and that would allow it to be longer I said no I don't want it out of my site ( I only wanted a extender piece to make it longer you just hook it to the necklace and you don't have to change it I took it off tonight and that side broke and beads went flying I just bought this today from a vintage jewelry place I would not go to him he doesn't know what he's doing and he's so overpriced for his jewelry trust me you will overpay for any jewelry you buy here read more

Most recently I had an engagement ring designed from afar (I live in the San Francisco Bay area) and the simple yet refined ring that had been envisioned and discussed with Shea (the jeweler) was designed, created, shipped and received in a timely fashion. The proposal occurred on the large rock promontory at the lake in Central Park; the ring was a resounding success. They are currently creating our wedding bands as well. I went in to this store to have a new ring made. I was treated very rudely and asked if I could afford the ring. After a week, I changed my mind about the style--what they wanted to make me wasn't what I wanted. I got my ring back, but they kept my deposit! Think twice. I dearly wish I had read the other review regarding McNabb's and Citizen watches before purchasing mine. When I picked up my new special order Citizen watch, Mr. McNabb pressured me to resize the bracelet on the spot even though I explained that I was in a hurry. I did not examine the watch after his resizing until I got home. During the re-sizing, Mr. McNabb caused $450.77 worth of damage to the watch and bracelet, as appraised by Citizen Watch repair in California. McNabb's salesperson Sue said there is nothing they will do for me since I sent the watch directly to Citizen instead of bringing it back to the store for repair. I paid more initially because I thought I was supporting a deserving small business. Now I know better. read more

Our family has been dealing with Mr. McNabb and his staff for years (most recently March 2013). I feel compelled to balance the "sour-grapes" review below (Jesse M.). Mr. McNabb -whom our family knows professionally but not personally - is one of the kindest, most honorable, and in his specialized field, without a doubt the most knowledgeable merchant in Flagstaff. His staff are all devoted to him and their work. Mr. McNabb's inventory is phenomenal: his small, beautiful shop is always worth going out of one's way just to visit, for the pleasure of seeing and learning. Mr. McNabb is also the only jeweler in Flagstaff able to make repairs on estate jewelry and watches (many brands). He will never undertake a project that he is not confident that he can complete. He is naturally interested in beautiful objects, whether jewelry (contemporary, estate or Native American), silverware and other finely crafted objects. He is always happy to help recommend artisans who can make repairs (mostly West Coast), if he cannot. My husband has happily relied on Mr. McNabb - specifically for watch maintenance - for years. Over this period, we have purchased several lovely pieces of jewelry from him. Mr. McNabb is *highly* respected by his neighbor merchants, and considered one of the anchors of Flagstaff's commercial community. I have had several contacts with the female front-office manager mentioned in Jesse M.'s review, without problem. I can only guess that this customer had some kind of "personality clash" with the shop manager that he/she was unwilling to transcend. Mr. McNabb is always present at his work table in the back room, always happy to step up personally to the front desk. It's a shame to try to mar his good reputation. read more
