If you are looking for a pediatric doctor, avoid Sutter Gould medical Plaza. I've had multiple bad encounters with this department. They are always running late and give the excuse that they can only have two patients in the back at a time, however, you see patients being called in every couple minutes. I had to wait over one hour and 20 minutes to be seen. Their track board displayed that they were on time, and did not change it until I complain that I have been waiting. The worst thing about this department is that it is combined with Urgent Care. You have very sick, patience, being walk through the department and waiting area while there is newborn babies and children that are immunocompromised waiting for their appointment. Not sure who thought about this layout, but it needs to be changed. This is a health and safety concern and should be addressed immediately. read more

I really love that Sutter lets you schedule your lab appointments online--no more long waits in the lobby. You check in, and you're seen so much faster. My appointment was scheduled for 3:00 PM. I arrived a little early, waited about 2 minutes, and was already back in my car by 2:57 PM. That alone says everything. The lab is very clean, spacious, and organized. Even the bathrooms were clean, which I always appreciate. The staff here were so kind, patient, and helpful. My blood draw was swift and totally pain-free. Overall, it was such an easy, stress-free experience. I'll definitely keep coming back to this lab. read more

Huge thank you to Dr.Vang and her entire care team within the women's department. The receptionists were also so kind and helpful during every check in. Dr. Vang was absolutely amazing throughout my entire pregnancy as a first time mama. Dr.Vang is such an uplifting and well educated doctor. She is authentic, funny and doesn't waste any time with providing the best experience for her patients. I recently had a c-section and the entire procedure was truly a beautiful experience. Thank you so much for helping both me and my new family. Aside from that I would also love to recognize Dr. Manaig a pediatrician who also works in the building. I recently met Dr. Maniag for my baby's first appointment and she was so helpful. This morning at the lab a women named Pilar was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was escorting my mother (Sutter Gould Patient) whom was in a wheelchair at that and there was really no room for her. I was speaking with a different employee when she rudely interrupted US and SAID "This is the only space we have so pick a place to go" Then I told her supervisor and she literally didn't even care what I was saying!! I love our pediatrician at sutter Gould, however they company just moved urgent care into the same space as pediatrics. I don't think this is okay. Here come adults with all shorts of illness exposing little children who come for wellness checks. This also means less rooms for pediatric doctors to see children. I was so disappointed today when i had to stand next to coughing adults while checking in for a wellness check for my baby! Move urgent care out of the pediatric section! read more

Sutter Gould Medical Foundation - Waiting Room - Doctors Near Me - Stockton, California

I ask that this message be forwarded to the person who is responsible for the decision to combine the Urgent Care department with the Pediatrics department at Sutter in Stockton, CA on Hammer Lane. My understanding is that the entire staff here, including the office manager, all very openly objected the foolish decision to temporarily merge these two areas of care. Despite the glaringly obvious reasons why that would be a bad idea, you decided to make that call anyways. I also understand you do not have to deal with the aftermath and consequences that your doctors, staff, and patients, like myself have to deal with. This email is being written with the hopes that this opens your eyes and you immediately rectify your mistake. There were multiple errors you made. All other options and configurations should have been exhausted before you put the most fragile immunosuppressed patients in the same waiting room as your sickest patients. You could have temporarily merged two other departments while you gave urgent care its own isolated space that it requires. And even after exhausting all of these options, if this truly was the only option for logistical reasons, your second mistake was pure lack of communication. Bare minimum, you could've sent a notice out to all parents of pediatric patients giving them a heads up and offering solutions like recommending masks before entering the waiting room, suggesting limiting number of guests with patients, or potentially rescheduling appointments. You could have implemented some sort of system where pediatric patients could come check in and then wait either in the outer lobby area or in their car and be called when they're next. You could have offered a mask and sanitizing station directly in front of the check in area. You could have implemented better signage that gives parents a heads up and explains why the arrangement is the way it is, with an expected timeline. You could have implemented signage requesting urgent care patients sit on one side of the room and reserve the other side only for pediatrics. You could've had a separate entrance for urgent care patients vs pediatric patients. There are so many things you could've done do protect our little ones. Instead, what my family and I have experienced is two side by side lines with no distance what so ever, urgent care patients intermixed with pediatric patients in the waiting room, no proactive sanitization happening in the space, an enclosed space with no where to have social distancing, and absolutely no heads up at all. On December 27th, I showed up to this department with a premature newborn, who wasn't even old enough to have had her vaccines yet, with my autistic 5 year old son, and my husband. I would've made arrangements for a sitter to watch my son had I known what we were walking into. There were sick people coughing all around us. We had to walk directly through all the sick patients to use the same door all the sick people were touching. Our family almost never gets sick. Within 2 days of this incident, our entire family got bronchitis and sinus infections. Both my children have larygomalacia, which is an airway disorder, meaning when they get any kind of respiratory illness, it greatly affects their ability to breathe. My family's health was directly affected because of your decision. I showed up today, January 22nd to see that this is STILL happening. I'm not sure what your definition of temporary is, but at this point, you have had PLENTY of time to remedy this situation. I want you to know, that while it isn't your child, your family member, or yourself having to go through this, that you are affecting other people. You need to do better and make this right. read more

I am a FTM and took my newborn in for their first doctor's visit. We had already established care with Dr. Hamidi, but he had no availability for the rest of the week, so I agreed to see the next available pediatrician and was scheduled with Dr. Kamel. I brought up concerns for jaundice at the visit and he ordered bloodwork. I received the results of the bloodwork that same afternoon and the results did present with elevated bilirubin levels. This was Friday afternoon and it is now the following Wednesday afternoon and I still have not been contacted by any doctor to discuss the results of the labs or let me know whether or not any follow up care is needed. I've called the Sutter office twice and messaged the care team directly via MHO app, but I am just told that they are notifying Dr. Kamel of my message. This is highly frustrating as it has been 5 days since the lab results were posted and no contact has been made with me. read more

Due to getting a job with different benefits, I recently changed my health insurance. It turns out my insurance covers visits at Sutter Health. I decided to have my first PCP visit scheduled on Monday, 11/27/23, in the evening. Everyone in the office was super lovely. Bianca greeted me with a wonderful welcome and checked me in for the appointment. Next, Shelly was an absolute pleasure. I loved her personality and kind spirit. She took my vitals and assessed my health history. Lastly, I spoke to Dr. Jose. She was so caring about my health and also asked questions. I've honestly never been treated with utmost care and amazing service to this magnitude until coming to Sutter Health. My very first experience here to see my new Dr. was indeed a great one. It's been since 2015 since I've dealt with Sutter Health. But this visit made it a pleasant return to get re established. Location is a small one but better for getting around and finding your way around. I like how they have lab and other departments all in one building. Dr visit was a good one staff was nice as well. I love that so many of my specialty doctors are in one place; and they work well together.

Is there a reason why everyones response to any form of accountability is met with complete and utter confusion? Why is every dr running late? Why are we held to some punctuality standard that they are not holding themselves to? Why are checks with memos/account numbers not being properly applied to outstanding invoices? Why does no one in billing seem to have a grasp of anything that resembles reconciling outstanding invoices to amounts being oaid? Why did you refund the money for the exact amount that is owed on my account as an over payment? Of course when i called to check on the status I am told to call back in 30 days. I'm pretty sure this is not the first or last complaint against the rude creature you have working in Family Medicine Floor 3. I think her name is Dahlia or some sh*t like that. About every 3 out 4 times I'm there she's always arguing with a patient being really rude. She does not belong in customer service. I was given a referral to see a pulmonologist in Sutter. The pulmonologist has the capability to read a CT scan and see what to recommend to the patient. The pulmonology department first stated I have an appt today then they switched and said I have one tomorrow. They will disrespect you on the phone and tell you off. They don't take your health concerns seriously. I still have a wheezing effect with restriction in the right lung and I might have to go into the ER. I wouldn't recommend Sutter in this area, maybe they need to learn from the Bay Area Sutters. read more

Worst customer service ever! My doctor quit and I was not notified in time. My prescriptions have no refills and my new doctor's appt isn't scheduled until 6/23 but I will run out over the weekend and can not miss any dosages.The new doctor won't refill an rx until he sees me. All doctors from Lodi to Modesto to Manteca with Sutter can't see me in time to help with my refil. After talking to 4 customer service people who hang up because they don't want to track down a solution and being told there is no administration office at 600 Coffee Rd (which is not true because I've been there before) This is a disgrace that there is no excuse for. read more

Don't ever take a loved one to the surgery center if you value and cherish your family as well as bedside manner and patient care overall. These people are rude as hell. My sister had to go in for gastrointestinal work, I was her ride, and the exPerience was an absolute mess. Waited for three hours over the time the surgery was scheduled. Then they had the audacity to say the surgery wasn't 100% covered.... BULL!!! We went over this WEEKS IN ADVANCE and were told she wouldn't pay a dime!!! Who's running this circus?! Earliest appointments are months away. I've had them cancel MY appointments in some cases less than an hour prior. They'll tell you need to come in to renew your medication, but the doctor will be fully booked for several months out. I've gone to urgent care several times for the same thing and each time I'm told it's a different problem. These people are rude, incompetent, and just want money. Hidden gem in Stockton. Primary care, urgent care, lab, pediatric care all centralized in one location. Unlike Kaiser who can and often does send you sometimes 100 miles away for care? Sutter Stockton everything you need is right there. Fast and efficient. I have Dr Shi after having two decades of another doctor who recently retired. Dr Shi was so awesome saying "everything you need is here on hammer/DON Ave and if you need anything acute our surgeons and specialists are all here with privileges here at every hospital. No long drives etc. I got in and out of a procedure in less than two hours that it took my wife with better insurance 5 hours at a local hospital. Why? Sutter has its own outpatient services on campus. It keeps you more complaint as a patient when things are easily accessible across multiple health disciplines all in one location. Sutter is growing for a reason. They understand convenience and access are the future. Their MyHealth app needs work but is awesome. read more

This rating isn't for all of Sutter Gould departments, general I've received excellent service for a long time until now 10/2021 trying to get my worker's compensation claim going, so that I can have surgery done for my right shoulder injury I scheduled an appointment to have the doctor answer some questions the claims examiner wanted from the Doctor so Miss Smarty Pants Gabriella Q. Canceled it I spoke with the Injury department at my job and they said try again. I made another appointment today 11/1/21 and again it was canceled why in the world would Sutter Give these people the power to just cancel your appointment. I am torn...3 or 4 stars? I guess it depends on what you are reviewing...the building and administration or the doctors inside the building? I am going to try and do both. This spot on the corner of Hammer Lane and Don Avenue was vacant for the LONGEST time. Ever since I was a little kid I can remember this very busy corner just being bare land. They eventually put in the shopping center across the street that contains Raley's and then went to work on building this Sutter Gould location. Imagine my mom's surprise when they mentioned that very news...no longer would she have to drive halfway across town for her doctor appointments...she would only have to drive down the street. The building itself is very nice and well designed. It makes the corner it sits on look very professional. Part of what bothers me about this location is how they treat you when you show up for an appointment. You first must wait in line downstairs and talk to one of 4-8 medical workers who take all your info and make sure they have your insurance information up to date and then dispatch you up to the individual doctor's office upstairs. Once you get up to the doctor's office you have to check in yet again and sit there and wait for your appointment. It really makes you feel less like a patient and more like a number. When my mom changed insurances she also changed doctors and no longer frequents this facility. I guess that right there should tell you something. Awesome location, nice building but they could use a little more personal touch when dealing with patients. :0) read more

Had great experiences with my children in Pediatrics; but I wouldn't take a dog to the Internal Medicine Department. Dr Basra passes out antibiotics for future possible needs and doesn't follow quarterly blood screening protocols for older diabetic patients. The best laboratory and X-ray departments; sadly Dr Basra is a complete dealbreaker as is any organization that keeps him on staff. By the way, their patient advocacy people do not work on site, nor answer their phones and their voicemail box is full. Pretty much says it all about Sutter Gould. read more

The doctors here are OK but the office staff is terrible. I have a condition that is causing me a lot of pain and need to see a specialist. My doctor made the referral but I they won't let me even try to make an appointment to see someone because they need a week to process the paperwork!! A week, of pain before I can even talk to a secretary about making an appointment, let alone how many days it will be after that before I can actually see a doctor. I switched from Kaiser to Sutter because I thought Kaiser was bad. These guys are more expensive but they're no better. read more
