Office staff were efficient and cordial at sign-in, and the nurses and NP who treated me were respectful and professional. The facility is very clean and comfortable. I was there early on a Sunday morning in the summer, and I'm sure other time frames would provide a different experience, but this visit was so positive that Sutter will be my go-to for urgent care from now on. read more

I was denied medical services despite having Health Net insurance. I was told they accept some Health Net plans, but not my specific group. Ultimately, I was refused care and left without any medical assistance. They advised me to contact Sutter's patient advocate, but when I called, no one was available to help. The front desk staff were unhelpful, unfriendly, and showed little concern for my situation. There was certainly no "service with a smile" -- only denial of healthcare. What was most frustrating was that they would not offer any guidance or alternatives for receiving care. Instead, while I was standing in urgent care with active insurance coverage, they joked about calling me an ambulance rather than helping me access medical services. We visited the urgent care last week after my better half had been suffering from significant and persistent lower back pain. He is a veteran but had heard that this location does a great job working with the VA and those requiring coordination of care with the VA. The recommendation that we were given was right on the money, and we had a fantastic experience. Not only were the office staff, adjunct medical staff and physicians fantastic but they were accommodating but listened well and make sure his individual needs were met both medically as well as via insurance. continuity of care was maintained, and both his prescriptions and aftercare instructions were sent to the VA as is necessary and he was able to get what he needed the same day. We are extremely grateful for their kindness and highly recommend that anyone needing urgent care services, especially those through the VA who may have a limited options utilize this resource as is necessary. I opt to come to Sutter Urgent Care when my primary care physician is out on leave or her office is closed. I like that my primary care can view my visits here to the urgent care along with any test results and treatment orders prescribed to me. They provide high care quality. Wait times vary depending on whether there are any bugs going around but staff and the doctors do their best to get you in and out. read more

I ask that this message be forwarded to the person who is responsible for the decision to combine the Urgent Care department with the Pediatrics department at Sutter in Stockton, CA on Hammer Lane. My understanding is that the entire staff here, including the office manager, all very openly objected the foolish decision to temporarily merge these two areas of care. Despite the glaringly obvious reasons why that would be a bad idea, you decided to make that call anyways. I also understand you do not have to deal with the aftermath and consequences that your doctors, staff, and patients, like myself have to deal with. This email is being written with the hopes that this opens your eyes and you immediately rectify your mistake. There were multiple errors you made. All other options and configurations should have been exhausted before you put the most fragile immunosuppressed patients in the same waiting room as your sickest patients. You could have temporarily merged two other departments while you gave urgent care its own isolated space that it requires. And even after exhausting all of these options, if this truly was the only option for logistical reasons, your second mistake was pure lack of communication. Bare minimum, you could've sent a notice out to all parents of pediatric patients giving them a heads up and offering solutions like recommending masks before entering the waiting room, suggesting limiting number of guests with patients, or potentially rescheduling appointments. You could have implemented some sort of system where pediatric patients could come check in and then wait either in the outer lobby area or in their car and be called when they're next. You could have offered a mask and sanitizing station directly in front of the check in area. You could have implemented better signage that gives parents a heads up and explains why the arrangement is the way it is, with an expected timeline. You could have implemented signage requesting urgent care patients sit on one side of the room and reserve the other side only for pediatrics. You could've had a separate entrance for urgent care patients vs pediatric patients. There are so many things you could've done do protect our little ones. Instead, what my family and I have experienced is two side by side lines with no distance what so ever, urgent care patients intermixed with pediatric patients in the waiting room, no proactive sanitization happening in the space, an enclosed space with no where to have social distancing, and absolutely no heads up at all. You also have less control rooms and availability for both departments which means longer wait times that you have these two groups being exposed to each other! On December 27th, I showed up to this department with a premature newborn, who wasn't even old enough to have had her vaccines yet, with my autistic 5 year old son, and my husband. I would've made arrangements for a sitter to watch my son had I known what we were walking into. There were sick people coughing all around us. We had to walk directly through all the sick patients to use the same door all the sick people were touching. Our family almost never gets sick. Within 2 days of this incident, our entire family got bronchitis and sinus infections. Both my children have larygomalacia, which is an airway disorder, meaning when they get any kind of respiratory illness, it greatly affects their ability to breathe. My family's health was directly affected because of your decision. I showed up today, January 22nd to see that this is STILL happening. I'm not sure what your definition of temporary is, but at this point, you have had PLENTY of time to remedy this situation. I want you to know, that while it isn't your child, your family member, or yourself having to go through this, that you are affecting other people. I no longer carry health insurance because the cost is too high and it is difficult to access appointments (much less meaningful care). When I can get appointments, it's the same routine ... we run CT scans, chest Xrays, and labs. Every time. Then, they deliver a fake congratulatory gesture that my cancer remains in remission, they ignore any current symptoms, and they send me away with a fat bill and no actual service. Sutter treated my colon cancer in 2020, during which time they destroyed my digestive tract with chemo. I have been in a constant rotation between diarrhea and constipation since and it's well documented on my records. Occasionally, the extreme loss of water and nutrients is best resolved with IV fluids. It's elementary level care. Any competent provider understands the damage dehydration will do to your kidneys, and mine were hurting. After a full week of diarrhea, I called Sutter emergency to see if I could get a quote for basic rehydration treatment, but this was not possible. Instead, citing because I was cash pay, I needed to go to Urgent Care instead. I was advised they are suitable for this level of care, so I went. Sutter Urgent Care declined to provide hydration, or any treatment because I didn't have a current CT scan and chest Xray (last done in early 2023). They said they couldn't treat me because they didn't know what they are treating, yet they refused to evaluate me. Apparently you cannot diagnose dehydration without a CT scan and Xray so there is no point in an evaluation!?! Sutter is either so salivating to find a new cancer in me, or they continue to be upset with me for not running these ridiculous tests that not only expose me to known cancer agents, but that are designed to wipe out my savings. Sutter, please let's be honest with everyone ... you performed CT scans & Xrays for years to rule out cancer that was there the whole time. Finally, after it reached stage III, we found the cancer using entirely different methods. Still, and I assume it's because of predetermined agreements within the healthcartel that allow for quarterly testing, that you INSIST on performing these tests. Stop acting like you are testing for the underlying problem. How about try to stay focused on the patient instead of the payout? read more

They were polite, caring and top notch patients focused. I could not have asked for a better team. 9/9/2023. I wished this was the team that was present 24/7. We are very concerned about billing practices, a lack of price transparency, and potential exploitation of vulnerable patients, particularly teenagers, who may not be equipped to reject a doctor's offer effectively, at Sutter Health Stockton. In November 2023, my 16-year old daughter had an urgent care visit, and we were charged $405 for a "Walking Boot Non-Pneumatic Prefab" (we later discovered the same boot on Amazon for less than $40. We use the same code to check the price on fairhealthconsumer.org and the cost is $112). Before signing any documents, we explicitly asked about the price of the medical boot from both the doctor and nurse, but they said they didn't know the price and we will receive a billing statement later (this is definitely a sign of scam but we just blindly trusted Dr. Bikramjit Singh). This lack of transparency left us in a vulnerable position. To compound our frustration, the hospital informed us the day after the visit, based on the X-ray results, that the medical boot was unnecessary. Despite our inquiry about the possibility of returning the unused boot for a refund, our request was regrettably denied by Sutter Health. After receiving the billing statement, we contacted the billing department to dispute the charge related to the boot. Unfortunately, our dispute was summarily rejected. I was told by the front desk lady that my insurance was accepted and valid only to receive a bill over $2000 a year later. Since it was not valid, I have no arguing grounds and just had to pay the fee. Terrible. Staff should be held to some accountability when making claims as such. My mom and I had a great experience at the urgent care! Both doctors that my mom had seen treated her with respect and she loved both doctors. With the emergency room being so full I totally recommend this urgent care but go early just as you should go early to the ER if that's where you prefer!!! The MA and physician were great! (didn't catch their names). Even though I had an appointment, the wait was around 35 minutes in the lobby. Once we got into the room it only took about 10-15 minutes for the physician to come by. Rating based solely on the experience with each person my four year old saw. They made son very comfortable - used fun terms to him and explained what they were doing at each step. He gets a bit timid with strangers so their approach made the appointment easy and smooth! read more

It's not an appointment. I recommend that you do not make an appointment for it's best to walk in as soon as they open. I made an appointment to find out I have to wait three hours. I've been to this place for sooooo many years and today was no different. The staff and Doctors as always sooo soo soo amazingly nice and helpful and informative. From broken fingers, sprains, asthma, lumps in the breasts. They've been amazing to me and my two athletic, crazy children. Today I took my son in and Dr. Solari was his treating physician today. This is the second time I've been to this urgent care and my experience this time was much different than my last time. My 7 week old daughter and I were rear-ended in my car yesterday. My back was hurt but she seemed okay; still, as a mother and having a medical background, I wanted to have her checked out. When I arrived, there was a gentleman at the front desk. I was still shaken up from the accident so I do not remember his name but his nametag did indicate that he was a CMA. I informed him what happened and that I wanted both myself and my daughter to be checked out. My experience with him is why I'm leaving a low review. He was unsympathetic and very flippant in his attitude with us. His way of speaking to me and my husband was very condescending, and came across as careless. There was also confusion regarding if my daughter could even be seen or not; he checked her in, then realized her age and said they wouldn't see her because she was too young and they "didn't have the resources to see her" (his words). A sweet RN got involved and tried to see if a doctor would be able to examine her--the gentleman left the front desk and came back and told me that they would see us. But then the RN came up and said they wouldn't, again. This back-and-forth was extremely stressful and I started to cry. I just wanted to make sure my daughter was okay. The RN was extremely sympathetic and did quickly look at my daughter at the front desk just to triage her. Obviously, she could not legally tell me my daughter was okay, but she agreed with me when I asked if I should go to the ER instead and she recommended Dameron, stating that they would be quicker. (They were; Dameron saw us immediately while Sutter Gould had a 2hr 45min wait.) Ultimately, I am not totally upset that they wouldn't see my daughter, although the back and forth conflicting answers was frustrating. I am upset, however, with the mannerisms and treatment we received at the front desk. I feel this gentleman should receive some sensitivity training, as he is the first point of contact at an urgent care facility. Nobody is there for a good reason, and patients should be treated with sympathy and respect instead of a flippant attitude. read more

Because of so much discomfort. Dr. Garbeff and his RN Nocole really took care of Mr. Kass. He was smiling when he left. He had a good night's sleep. His appetite came back. What most impressed him, was that Dr. Garbeff cared enough to call him at home the next day, to see how he was going. Old school doctor, we just love him. My daughter appointment was at 945 and the app only told us to arrive by 930; which we did and was told by the nurse that we have to call and register to check in and wait in the car until they call us on the phone..I did not understands why I see other patient waiting inside the waiting room and we had to wait out in the car ..makes no sense to me.. so we went outside and waited and 45 mins past by and I came back in and was told there's only 3 room and still have to wait..I was like "ok" so we waited outside the building. I went in this morning not able to breathe. The staff was A+ from the receptionist to the triage nurse, doctor and assistant. They worked very hard to help me and to find out what was wrong. I found out I had pneumonia and the flu and it dont help that I'm asthmatic. This kind of treatment does not need to go unnoticed when you have a team like yours that go above and waayy beyond.
