I followed Violet from her old location and have been taking my pets to her for years. She is very detail oriented and if she ever sees anything of concern she'll bring it up to me which I really appreciate. She always has the pets wellbeing foremost in her mind and often discusses with me what grooming is right for them rather than just trying to add unnecessary services. They are also very patient with my cat who has definitely scratched them multiple times but they still give their best effort. The office staff are also very nice!

Now I cannot rave about our vet Dr Kaala enough. She takes her time, builds our dogs trust, and genuinely cares. From the moment she walks in the room, she is calm and kind, she gets on his level, and she takes her time to let him warm up. She is a wonderful example to her staff and sets a perfect tone. No matter how many times our dog walks away from her, she keeps her cool and encourages him back. She talks us through his care and makes sure all our questions are answered (yes we are those very involved dog parents). Dr Kaala is truly a gem and we are so grateful to have been recommended to go to her. We drive 40 minutes just go to Tiger Tails based of a recommendation from a friend who also drives that far! Dr Kaala is worth it and after two visits now we are clearly not going anywhere else.

I want to support local non-corporate vets, but the constant high-pressure upsells are making it…read morehard. Over the past year, almost every visit has included some sort of pressure for unnecessary tests or medicine. A couple of months ago, we spent almost $300 just on testing for a soft stool, only to realize on our own it was just a food storage issue. On top of that, when we requested a prescription for flea and tick treatment, we had to go through hoops and wait just to get the physical paper prescription so we could save 25% elsewhere. Most recently, we were advised to get X-rays for a potential obstruction, even after a physical exam suggested it wasn't necessary and after I insisted I hadn't seen him ingest anything. We were warned that if he was obstructed, he might need emergency surgery before the weekend, so we gave in out of fear. Between the consultation fee,$250 X-rays, a $100 fee for a second opinion (to release from liability), $150 for nausea medication and IV fluids, plus another $100 to retreat a recurring skin infection, we spent half a mortgage payment in one visit. To make matters worse, after paying for that urgent second opinion, almost 24 hours passed without a single update, only for them to finally reiterate us, "we don't really know what caused his upset tummy at this point." We knew he had an upset tummy, we came in to get a second opinion and help alleviate his symptoms. Medicine isn't an exact science, but exploiting fear when a life isn't in immediate danger isn't right. To be clear, the support staff is always very nice and the facilities are impeccably clean, but the corporate-style sales tactics and lack of follow-through from the medical side are discouraging and disappointing. Please let vets be vets, I would gladly come back one hundred times to get more tests if needed if I feel and know I'm dealing with an honest practice that's looking to help and not just after my wallet. All business are for profit, we get it, but I would like to think you could profit more from an influx of customers that come from all these corporate vet practices trying to not get screwed over with a bunch of tests and things that are not needed.

No problem. Medications? They can handle it. But what I appreciate so much is the attention to detail, like vacuuming up stray litter, rinsing food cans, I never had to come home to a mess. Took my sweet kitty Pancakes here when she was acting very unlike herself…read more I normally go to a vet in Decatur but I moved to Lawrenceville and it's too much of a drive. The staff were super friendly and seemed very experienced. They had to give her a shot and I swear she didn't even noticed that she was given one! At my old vet she use to hiss and growl at this one she actually purred! They gave me some medicine and sent us on our way. Pancakes got so much better and I really have this place to thank! I would also like to add that they were not at all expensive. A total exam, a shot of some medicine to make her eat, an IV since she was dehydrated, and a 30 day supply of pills ran me about $90 which probably would have cost me upwards of $200 or more if I went to the Decatur clinic.
