While West Virginia is known for a certain biscuit restaurant, I hereby declare that Suzi is the supreme biscuit maker in the Mountain State. The biscuits are the size of Kanawha County, and fluffier than the pillows of pollution above the rust belt. Whether you drown them in gravy, or sandwich them around delicious breakfast meats, you simply can't go wrong. The apple biscuit is kind of weird, but that's okay. We're all weird. Run, don't walk! Absolutely superb!! Food is always good and exactly the same. Honesty I've never seen such consistency. Workers are the best, always in a good mood and always in a hurry to serve you, more than once I have seen them literally run food. Place is always clean. All the chains puke in a bag should seriously take notes from the owner and managers of this place. My only two complaints; they aren't open 24/7/364 and the fact there is only one restaurant. Tony and I decided to go to Suzi's Hamburgers. We hadn't been for a long while. We were wanting something for lunch but not the usual hot dogs or tacos. Tony went with the Super Burger that was fully loaded with tomatoes, onions, pickles with Cheese. The sandwich was very good. I ordered the mushroom Burger which was beyond terrific Definitely going back there again and will definitely order the Mushroom Burger sandwich. If in South Charleston stop and enjoy!!! read more

Wow this place is just so good. It's no wonder why there's a consistent long line of cars waiting to place their orders through the drive thru. The portions are HUGE. I ordered a small order of biscuits and gravy and OMG the biscuits are so soft and buttery and the sausage gravy is just absolutely delicious. The eggs with cheese and bacon was fantastic. read more

My dad said this place was known for breakfast, so I gave my daughter $15 bucks to grab us some food. While not fancy in any form, the flavors were solid and the portions big. We fed 3 of us, and there was change left over. The biscuits are pillowy and covered with salty butter on top. My dad couldn't finish all of his order of biscuits and gravy. The food is good there. However, they do not know how to cook an egg. I go there and ask for 'over easy' or 'over light' eggs and tell them to just make sure the yellow is RUNNY. I normally go through the drive-through. I have learned to look at my eggs before I leave. However, once again today I did not look, and I may as well have ate a boiled egg. For some reason they cannot understand what 'runny yellow' means as a pertains to eggs. I have had this discussion several times over the years and then try to give them another chance. Point blank - best drive-thru biscuit & breakfast you will experience at this level. Biscuits made with love for sure. My go to is the BLT w/ Egg, add Cheese - this is a savory breakfast biscuit combo that is super satisfying. If that seems too adventurous for your pallet then just do a Bacon / Egg / Cheese biscuit - you will most definitely enjoy that (if you can taste at least). They should drop the Hamburgers and Call it Suzi's Biscuits because Breakfast is where they excel. The menu isn't large but it doesn't have to be because they make the best biscuits around. Not super lard filled Flake fest biscuits but the nice fluffy doughy Drop Biscuits like my Grandmother used to make. Huge pieces of sausage good portions of bacon. It's old and dirty and they have a sign above the registers that says something like, "Try our new mushroom burger!" but it looks like they dug it out of the trash dumpster from McDonald's in the 1980s. I stopped by for a slightly late lunch on my way to Virginia. Unfortunately I missed breakfast, but I figured I would try one of their burgers and some fries. The reviews indicated this was a nice place, with friendly staff. Obviously breakfast is what they are more known for, but I was too late. The lady who took my order was rude, seemed generally disinterested in even being there, and said as little to me as possible. This surprise me, is most people I know from West Virginia are extremely friendly. As for the burger, it reminded me of a high school quality burger. A few of my coworkers and I went at lunch hoping to get breakfast but they stop serving breakfast at 11. We stayed and ate the hamburgers and fries. I would not recommend lunch here. I was told by some others at work that the breakfast was what they are known best for and I should give them a chance for that. This place is a local favorite low-key place focusing on breakfasts and burgers and, despite it's hamburger reference, its seems like breakfast is its strong suit. On a dreary, rainy Thursday morning we went it was bumping at about 8am. Food: we ordered two biscuit and egg sandwiches - one with bacon and one with steak. The steak is actually a breaded cutler type. The biscuits are large (3"x3") and fluffy and perfectly cooked with a firm, crunchy crust but a flaky middle so they eventually crumbled like all good biscuits should. The eggs were the folded style. The meats were typical in terms of type and size. There is a condiments bar that has fresh onions, sliced tomatoes, pickles and banana peppers to add to your meals. There is also ketchup, mustard and hot sauce. This little bar is a nice touch. For our breakfasts I give 3 stars. Service: this is a order at the counter and wait for you place. Our cashier was brand new and bring trained but the experience was still fast and efficient. I didn't really see anyone waiting for more than a couple of minutes despite the traffic and the kitchen had a large, busy staff. After finding a table another server came around to check if we needed refills despite being a fast food layout; that was cool. 3 stars. Value: this is their strength. All the items are cheap. Our whole meal with a coffee and ice tea came to just over $9. I didn't see any menu item over 6 bucks. 5 stars for value. Atmosphere: Suzi's is essentially a fast food joint so don't expect much. Having said that there were couple of things that bugged me; first - as I mentioned, it was rainy on our visit and the floors were very slick and nothing was done to either warn the customers or dry off the floors and virtually all of us were gingerly shuffling around; second - the restrooms are each am one-person capacity job which is ridiculous for a place this busy. 2 stars. Overall, I enjoyed my biscuit sandwich and liked the condiment bar and the prices were excellent. If I'm back in Charleston I'd probably stop back by. Suzi's is a Charleston Treasure, the burgers and lunch/dinner menus are good, but the real amazement is in Suzi's breakfast! The breakfast here is great, not a fine dining experience, but if your looking for a wonderful ,greasy, rib sticking biscuit before work or after a late night, Suzi's (or Tudor's) is a sure thing!
