This is a real gem with history in downtown Charleston! The food was delicious & the service was excellent -- both our server Billy & the manager were outstanding & truly grateful for our patronage! CHECK IT OUT!

Tomato bisque and Hal a club
    Jeanette C.

It was a great looking diner. Old fashioned style. Our waitress was super sweet. The club sandwich fantastic. I had a cup of tomato bisque. It was too thick. Great flavor, but I just couldn't eat it. Ok for dipping the sandwich in. My husband had the chili. It was a little off. Too much chili powder. Their breakfast menu might have been the way to,go, since they serve it all day. If I had it to do over, I would have tried the eggs Benedict. Over priced for what we had.

Went to Quarrie Diner for breakfast with my wife, service was friendly and attentive, my wife had a bubble waffle and I had eggs Benedict both came out hot and fresh and very well presented, ate there in the 70's still had the nice diner atmosphere .

Sausage, pepper, spinach, and cheese omelette

It's SOOOOOO GOOD. I got a sausage, spinach, cheese, and pepper omelette that was phenomenal. The staff were super nice and the place has great retro vibes. I will be eating here much more often.

    Menu

Consistenly excellent food and service, with a nice retro feel. The menu isn't that big, but it has all the breakfast and lunch basics.

Single burger, sweet potato fries and tomato bisque.

The food was delicious and decently priced, excellent service. Their sweet potato fries and sauce are really good! Highly recommend for lunch with friends or family.

Nice atmosphere. Service was slow. Poached eggs were very undercooked and inedible. Probably won't go back for breakfast.

My margarita was not good at all. So bad that I didn't even drink more than half which is just a sin when it comes to expensive cocktails. My husband's chicken sandwich had about as much chicken as a tiny tender strip. He left hungry. I had the steak special. Which had good flavors (as anything covered in cheese would) but if I'm paying $60 for a medium rare steak, it's a shame that it came out medium well. Roasted cauliflower was mid, I make better at home in my air fryer. Service was good but the waitress was pretty pushy with the extras like we were insane for not ordering appetizers and not letting her bring us a glass of 4 roses. Ambiance was fine. But the experience was not worth my money, not even if it was half the cost honestly.

The bar staff was outstanding from start to finish. We had a few different bartenders taking care of us, and each one was attentive, friendly, and great at helping with recommendations. We ordered the New York steak and the Brussels sprouts special. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, and the Brussels sprouts hit that ideal balance--crispy, flavorful, and just right. Everything we had was packed with flavor. The drinks didn't miss either--ice-cold beer and expertly crafted cocktails all around. If you find yourself in Charleston, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend.

The pizza toppings and sauce were flavorful, the crust had just enough crispness and chewy bite to it. Salad was very fresh and crisp. Gorgonzola dressing flavorful but not over-powering. I wanted to try something new and interesting and through my Yelp research I found this spot. It's located in downtown with metered street parking free Monday-Saturday nights after 6pm and all of Sunday. Luckily, we were able to find a spot easily. Inside was modern and relatively clean. We had to wait a little bit to be seated as they were pretty busy; however, this place had a decent amount of seating and space. Service was good overall, but it wasn't as consistent as I would've liked for actions such as water refills, asking for extra napkins, etc. This was partly because they were very busy that night. They have a variety of food options - apps, salads, sandwiches, pies (pizzas), and dessert. We ended up ordering a large pizza (thin crust) to split - half Thai and half Chicken Gouda. Both were yummy although the crust was a tad burnt - nothing bad to the extent that taking bites were an effort. Overall, I preferred the Thai since I've never come across a Thai style pizza and I could really taste the curry sauce. The only downside of the Thai was that the shrimp were slightly overcooked, which could be potentially explained by us ordering a pizza split in two styles with them cooking the entire pizza evenly versus what is needed for each ingredient. We finished the entire pizza between the two of us, but I could see someone having some leftovers. If possible, they might want to do some minor pest management. The entire time of our visit a fruit fly or gnat was hovering around us and the food. We tried to catch it and protect the food, only for it to ultimately take a permanent dip in my water. My overall assessment was that it was a good place to try in the city. It's not something I would crave, but I wouldn't mind coming back again if I was in the area.

They have gluten free options and anything can be made gluten free according to the staff. They also have some vegetarian options. I love burgers, and honestly, it's hard to beat a handmade beyond smashburger. This restaurant currently does not offer another veggie substitute other than the Portobello mushroom. It was good, with the added goat cheese, but would have rather had a burger substitute with mushrooms added on top. The fries are great! Perfectly fried with golden crunch in every bite. The garlic aioli is the perfect dipping sauce. I ordered a ranch side as well and it's good, but the aioli is the best choice in my opinion. Great local restaurant with a burger for everyone.

The food felt legitimately high quality, like they're putting real care into the ingredients and preparation. I ordered the steak, and it was flavorful with a really good garlic butter that complemented it perfectly. Juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just how I wanted. The loaded fries were excellent too (maybe a touch salty, but in that addictive way), and they came with this awesome ranch that tied everything together. I got the half order, and let me tell you, it was massive. Easily enough for 3-4 people to share. The mac and cheese was solid as well, creamy and comforting without being over the top. What surprised me most was the value. For the caliber of food and the portions they're serving, the prices were very reasonable. Honestly better than I expected for something this good. Service was on par, if not a bit more professional than you'd usually find at a casual spot like this. Everyone was attentive without being pushy, and it made the whole meal feel smooth.
