Her knowledge and the friendly, small-town feel always kept us coming back, and the prices were fair. Now, with the new location, it feels more like a corporate operation. The small-town charm is gone, and so are the reasonable prices. Everything seems way overpriced, to the point where it feels like my wallet is being taken advantage of. I now find myself shopping at other nurseries where I can get a better deal and still receive good service. It's sad to see a local business that built a loyal following in town lose its character and affordability. Unfortunately, it feels like greed got the best of what once was a great place to shop.

I picked the tree I liked and got a beautiful pot for it. He repotted the tree, trimmed leaves and branches. Very cool to see him at work. He did wonderful job and answered all of my questions. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be back to get my own bonsai. I would recommend to call first before you go.

He is a bit older but damn he knows his bonsai. There were so many different kinds and he gave us information on all of them. He could definitely teach a class. In fact, I suggest following his blog. He recently did an outing where he brought some of his blog followers to a creek bed and did a bonsai dig! His nursery is run out of home and you can visit by appointment only. Don't let that discourage you though. He is very accommodating and has customers from all over the US including Colorado and Michigan. There are a few outdoor sections as well as a greenhouse for the tropical varieties. What I thought was super cool is that he has a section with all the pottery, decorations, wires, and shears. I have not seen that anywhere else. There is even a well trained dog that follows Ray around but does not go into the garden sections. How sweet! I cannot wait to come back here!

It's nice to be able to finally find some of these closer to home. The folks working outside are always helpful and knowledgeable about plant care. Then inside, there is always fresh produce! It's priced a little higher than a big box store but it's worth it for the quality. This Wiggins watermelon was one of the best I've had.

They helpfully post updated plant stock on Facebook, which helped in my thinking through my purchase before I even arrived. I was able to talk to staff and get some good input on my plans. It's not a huge shop but the selection is incredible. It's not often I'd drive 1.5 hr round trip, but I will again to shop at Rooted In.

They normally have weekly sales and you can go online to shop for savings as well.... I have been able to pick up few items for my Hubby at a great price. You can tell that most of the customers are contractor's or individuals that work for themselves. This location is not the Brightest or is as clean as I would prefer. However I normally run in & out because I know what I'm looking for. If saving money is your main focus point, then this is the spot. However if you are looking for a more modern clean hardware & home improvement location, then you might want to seek your neighborhood Home Depot!
