We then called the phone and it didn't ring and we were OUTSIDE. I then went home and did find my phone and it ping at the store's location. I then wrote a note that my phone is there and I am on my way to retreive it. When I got there the daughter stated someone found it in the parking lot. That's hard to believe as they stated no one had been there when I first asked for my phone. I truly believe they would have kept my phone if I had not locked it and then wrote the message... my phone is there and I am on my way. Wow.....

In my opinion, this business was much better before they moved to the new location. We used to buy…read moretons of plants and décor here, and one of the best parts was talking with the older lady who really knew her plants and trees. Her knowledge and the friendly, small-town feel always kept us coming back, and the prices were fair. Now, with the new location, it feels more like a corporate operation. The small-town charm is gone, and so are the reasonable prices. Everything seems way overpriced, to the point where it feels like my wallet is being taken advantage of. I now find myself shopping at other nurseries where I can get a better deal and still receive good service. It's sad to see a local business that built a loyal following in town lose its character and affordability. Unfortunately, it feels like greed got the best of what once was a great place to shop.

Went there to buy a bonsai tree for a birthday present. This is a house/backyard set up don't be…read moresurprised. Ray is very nice and knowledgeable of his craft. I picked the tree I liked and got a beautiful pot for it. He repotted the tree, trimmed leaves and branches. Very cool to see him at work. He did wonderful job and answered all of my questions. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be back to get my own bonsai. I would recommend to call first before you go.

He is a bit older but damn he knows his bonsai. There were so many different kinds and he gave us information on all of them. He could definitely teach a class. In fact, I suggest following his blog. He recently did an outing where he brought some of his blog followers to a creek bed and did a bonsai dig! His nursery is run out of home and you can visit by appointment only. Don't let that discourage you though. He is very accommodating and has customers from all over the US including Colorado and Michigan. There are a few outdoor sections as well as a greenhouse for the tropical varieties. What I thought was super cool is that he has a section with all the pottery, decorations, wires, and shears. I have not seen that anywhere else. There is even a well trained dog that follows Ray around but does not go into the garden sections. How sweet! I cannot wait to come back here!

We bought three rooted in garden boxes through the City of Allen earlier this spring. Those little…read moreplants are doing so well that I decided to make the drive up to see what else the nursery had. They helpfully post updated plant stock on Facebook, which helped in my thinking through my purchase before I even arrived. I was able to talk to staff and get some good input on my plans. It's not a huge shop but the selection is incredible. It's not often I'd drive 1.5 hr round trip, but I will again to shop at Rooted In.
