I was sold after my first appointment. If you live in the St. Peters/O'Fallon area, this is your guy. If you live downtown, this is still your guy. I swear he's worth the drive. I've never had a doctor pay more attention to what I'm telling him and genuinely care about what it is that I'm saying... and that's priceless. He's also a pretty funny guy who tries to be "hip" to what's going on in the world and strikes up the funniest conversations! Dr. McIntosh is thorough and knowledgeable, and he'll get you back up and running in no time. I've seen him for typical stuff such as allergies and colds, and he makes great recommendations and always gives me tips that help me feel ten times better. I even had to call the after-hours line once with a bad sinus infection (sure he appreciated that one) and he was still as caring and attentive even though I was bugging him late at night. What puts him above all others is how he follows up and doesn't give up until you've fixed whatever the problem is. For myself, the allergy queen, he prescribed a medicine and a nose spray and had me check in with him 7 days later via the phone, and we spoke that often until he had me on a plan that was working wonders. Looks like I'll be driving that 45 minutes next time I need him!

Dr. McIntosh has been my primary care doctor for over a decade. He is very personable and has an excellent bedside manner. He has seen me through quite a few health issues and always pops through when I've been admitted to the hospital. We don't have all the answers for my health problems but I can't say he doesn't LISTEN to every single one of them. He orders tests and refers me to specialists when needed. I've never felt misunderstood or dismissed which is not something I can say for many many specialists I've seen. To be fair, Auto Immune diseases are notoriously difficult to diagnose but I can confidently say Dr. McIntosh is doing everything he can to help me get answers. I would send anyone I know to see him without reservation. *Read up on Celiac Disease, doc! The amount of misinformation from medical professionals on this is criminal and a huge disservice to those who have it. Effects from celiac damage can spill over into almost every other part of your body. Celiac is for life and a negative blood test/scope (after a positive one) means you're doing well GF. it does NOT mean Celiac went away and you can eat what you wish! He has been…read morefamiliar with all of the (minor fortunately) conditions I've had and how to treat them effectively or has referred me to a specialist. I am probably the exception to his patients in being relatively proactive when it comes to my healthcare and he is usually willing to place orders for whatever bloodwork and screening tests that I request when I see him to stay on top of my health. I had to push to get a CAC scan in 2019 which revealed much more coronary artery calcium than either of us would have guessed based on my other risk factors. However the medical establishment (AHA) only recognized the value of it as a tool for coronary vascular disease risk assessment within a year of my requesting the test so I certainly don't blame him for not recommending it sooner.

He gave the clinic his insurance card and assumed they would bill his insurance and he would pay the remainder. When he arrived for his third appointment he was given a bill for $5,000+. One line item on the bill was "anal destruction"? The cost of the services was only part of the problem. He went to the clinic for hemmroid treatment. During the procedures the doctor and his assistants made inappropriate comments. Also, he was given no explanation about the procedure which was painful and questionable to say the least. I addition, he had zero improvement from the "treatments". I researched Dr. Abbadessa and found out that he was unable to practice or prescribe medicine in several states. I am currently working with an attorney to have him banned from Missouri.

We have found him to be very caring, a good listener, he knows the right questions to ask pertaining to our visit, and gives us a very high quality of care because he is so knowledgeable. We also appreciate all of his staff who are also very dedicated to excellent patient care. We appreciate that our wait times are good, getting in to see him within a few minutes of our arrival. Another thing we really like about Dr. Grus, that being established patients, we can usually get a same-day or next day appointment, instead of having to go to an urgent care. I believe he does this as a service for his patients, and I think all doctors should do this. We have a good experience from start to finish because there is plenty of parking, check in is speedy, a lab is available on site, and checkout is in his office. The facility is also very clean and welcoming. We highly recommend Dr. Grus if you are looking for a new doctor and a great all around patient experience. We give him 5 Stars!
