Every single time I go to Swank, I leave satisfied!!! No matter who does my hair, they always make sure it's perfect before I leave. The shampoo experience is amazing, and they have 3 different kinds of blow outs you can choose from. I usually go with bombshell because I like big curls, and they NEVER disappoint!!!! I always post a picture of my hair when I leave and all my friends comment and compliment on it. I have a lot of hair, so I'm really lazy and never do my hair myself, so I got the package that you get 2 blow dries a month AND a treatment!!! I think it's like $65 a month, super worth it!!!!! So when I go there I just tip!! I usually go with Janelle or Jasmine, but I have gotten it done with Christina before and she's also really good! You can make an appointment online, or just call them and they'll fit you right in. Trust me, you'll leave there feeling like a queen!! read more

Miguel took care of me after a long weekend of travel, sunscreen and a day at the beach. Booking was quick and easy with the online app and the team was welcoming when we arrived. The wash experience was pleasant and the blowout nice. He navigated my preferences nicely and my hair felt soft and touchable after. He was very conscious of getting the dry without excessive heat and mindful of the temperature on my skin. It was raining when I left so they offered me a cap to protect my style which was appreciated. I would definitely recommend and come back. read more

I was super excited to go in for my first blow out. I wanted natural waves for a special event and I ended up looking like Shirley temple. I had to come back to get my hair re curled 10 min after I left because she missed a bunch of curls and my Curls were falling out. The stylist clearly didn't want to be there she complained her boss made her come in at 9am to do my hair....cool. I got nothing but the royal treatment both times I went here. First, lashes by Ashley. She was outstanding. It's hard for me to sit still that long, but I was a good girl and kept calm. The lashes look perfect!! Next day I had Frankie do my color, blow out and flat-iron. I was doing a two day video shoot and hair needed to be perfect. Not only did he do an amazing job, but he's also great fun to have work on me. When I was done, I felt like a princess. Now, a week later, my hair is still glossy, silky and frizz free. If I could give this place zero stars I would. After posting my rightful review the owner had the audacity to come back and make a nasty comment afterwards. You guys are very audacious. I'll go ahead and post these photos as proof that I was lied to and ripped off. They told me that they would only charge $10 For extra hair and as you can clearly see on this receipt they charged me $20 so they doubled the price. They also state clearly on their website that a simple blowout comes with a simple scalp massage and then when I go there Sher denies me even though I show it blatantly to her on the website pretty nervy if you ask me that she's going to argue with a customer after being shown that she's wrong... Great customer service! You're not going to even provide the simple services advertised on your own website? Hilarious how you all are telling me I'm never welcome back to a salon that I have NO plans on ever revisiting and I will definitely tell all of my girlfriends to go somewhere else because you all suck. Your personality, your service... And what was I supposed to do? I had a special event planned and I come there and she denies me those services? I would give a 0 rating if I could. I had booked 4 hair and 4 makeup appointments over a month ago. They called me last week to say they needed my credit card again (I had to give at them time of booking) , in order to hold my appointments. The owner, Cher, was so rude and nasty and said they couldn't do the 4 make ups and "did I want to keep the appointments I had or not." I ended up keeping the appointments, and we were late due to the valet at the hotel losing my keys, but I called the. And was pretty much in tears by the time I showed up and she was like well that's too bad I'm still charging you and can only do 2 hair and 1 makeup. I understand we were late, but the rudeness and condescending attitude of hers was so unprofessional. I will never go back there read more

I made an appointment online, at the Ft. Laud Location. Oakland & Fed. at 6:30, with Peter. He seem to be the only one open. I always drive by there & wanted to try. Well I am omw and Shar called & stated that she was the mananager, from Ohio.. weird, cause I am in Fla. .. and she stated if I can come in at 6:45.. I said no problem.. I got there early, did not mind the wait, and the hair dresser stated that this was his last appt.(the customer in his chair) he was shutting down shop, there are no appt. at 6:30, now mind you, Shar advised me he was running late due to the customer just showed up at 6:15, which was his 6 appt.. she also advised me to ENJOY the expercience.... well. as I was humiliated, and walked out of the salon and tried to call Shar back, it went to voicemail... 3 times.. she also text me so I text back. I left a VM. and hope they do not charge my card.. I alredy called my bank, however, my friend is the manager at the branch close to me. I have screenshot the appt. with all the text & the voicemail the SHAR, the manager left me.. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! What kind of service turns away a customer? I called to cancel my appointment because I believed I was making the appointment at a different location that use to be owned by Swank. Apparently it is no longer owned by them. I spoke to Hank who was EXTREMELY RUDE and dismiss and laughed. I made the appointment one hour before so I am sure that the business was not inconvenienced by my request to cancel. If their service is comparable to their professional I would be extremely worried! You would think that the business who is trying to grow would be more accommodating or offer a credit but instead the business charged by a 17 dollar cancelled fee. read more

Don't be fooled by their "monthly membership, home of the 19.95 blowout" which is evidently going up on Monday anyway. You pay $40 a month (as mentioned, set to be increased if you're new, but as a member I'm "luckily" locked in) for two blowouts per month. Their policy, however, is to up charge EVERYTHING. That double shampoo which is standard across any and all salons because that's how hair is washed? $10. (They "go through shampoo like crazy") Hair long? (Which by the way is subjective, who decides what length is long with their 'new policy') $10! Style? $10! So if you break it down your $20 blowout is easily costing at least $40. Go to any other salon, buy a bulk package of 10+ blowouts and you're set at an all inclusive rate for your hair washed at $20 something. read more

I had a few good blow drys here, but both those stylists left. Then I went to Sher, the manager, for a very mediocre blow dry. I don't know why I decided to do extensions there because the blow dry was not good. Anyway, I gave them a $400 deposit and went back the next week. The extensions were put in by Sher. They were very uncomfortable pulling my hair, and the 2 sides were not the same length. They cost me almost $1000 with the tip. One week later I went to my normal hairdresser. As soon as she washed my hair, 8 pieces came out. She also pointed out to me that there was no hair over my ears! Just a big gap over each ear. I went back to Swank the next day and Sher put the pieces back in and put some over the ears. Following week, same thing. Had my hair washed and more pieces came out. The tape was curling and sticking out of my head! Rather than go back to Swank, I went to another salon that specializes in extensions. She took them all out, repositioned them into straight rows, and they were no longer pulling and tugging my own hair. She told me that Sher had put too much hair between the tape, so the tape could not hold properly. There were loops of hair caught up in the tape causing the pulling and discomfort. Since having a real professional put them in, no extensions have come out, and they feel like my own hair. I contacted Swank and told them I thought they should refund me $500. I would pay for the hair, there was nothing wrong with that. Two packs of quality hair should be about $300. Sher told me that the hair was $800. That is an outright lie. I don't know any salon that doesn't mark up their service. So she is asking me to believe they paid $800 for the hair and charged me $800! Then she told me she didn't charge me extra for the wash, or for the hair cut! There was no haircut! She cut a few inches off the bottom and left the sides different lengths! She clearly has no idea how to put in extensions and now does not want to make things right. They not only cost me a lot of money, but a lot of time as well, having to be re-attached twice. I recommend running away from Swank, because they stank! read more

Beware of their blowout service membership. They will over charge your credit card and the owner doesn't care. Too busy traveling. The hair stylist are terrible!!!! Cher can't do a basic blowout. Always trying to sell you more than what you came in for. Save your money, you can give yourself the same blowout at home. You will not walk out of there looking like you went to a salon. Waste of time and they will charge your credit card without asking. Beware!!!! They are uncaring and unprofessional. read more

I took the opportunity to Spend some quality time with my 3 princesses this past Friday. What better way to do that than get their hair styled together. I called Swank a week before and they scheduled all 3 to get their hair washed, blow dried, and styled at the same time. The receptionist was very professional and courteous. We arrived at 2 for our daddy/daughter date and everything was excellent. My girls loved every single second. Every staff member was professional, pleasant, and thorough. My youngest was so relaxed that she fell asleep in the chair. The business is clean, hip, and inviting. We will definitely be back. The prices are also reasonable. read more

I was a member of Swank "prior" to the ownership split with the "BlowoutFL.Com". I received a call from Swank's manager, Cher...advising me the "6" remaining blowouts on my Swank membership would be honored by the newly formed Swank Bar on East Oakland....IF...I became a member again with Swank. I initiated my new membership. I received excellent service from both Chardonnay and Miguel...however during my last visit when I inquired about my remaining 6 services...I was told I misunderstood...and do not have a balance to draw from. This is a true example of switch and bait. I will not do business with this business again. Shame on you! read more

I had a very bad experience. When you go to a blow dry bar you expect to receive a quality salon wash. My wash was barely a wash. My appt was with Shar and she barely washed my hair. She put shampoo in and basically pet my hair. Never cleaned it and then the conditioner she did the same. I should have said something at that point but I didn't. After the blow dry my hair didn't feel clean or smell clean. When I got home, I had to wash and blow dry my hair again because it was not clean. I even did a mask before going to swank and noticed that a little piece was still in my hair, that's how little she washed my hair. I sent an email to them to tell them the issue and not one person responded. At the very least if I would have gotten a response, I would consider giving them another try but since they don't care enough about customer satisfaction then I am rating them on Yelp especially since I brought 4 other customers with me that day. read more

I made an appointment via phone and was never told that the front of the store had damage which caused the entrance to be around the back. For anyone who has seen the location there is a big back to the building and walking on Federal highway is scary! I had taken an uber and was running about 5 minutes late and then walked around and around the building several times resulting me to be about 10 more minutes late. The weird back entrance brought me into a wash up room and it was confusing and I had explained that when I arrived. I was greeted like I had done something so wrong because I was late and I was late because no one told me about the rear door entrance when I booked. There are signs but the signs are not a help!! Noone offered to rebook me or cared that I had dinner plans and was on vacation and I was unable to get my hair done.The customer service was terrible. A few days later I saw a charge for a no show! I wasn't a no show I showed up! When I called the salon I was put on hold and then I was hung up on. I then left a message and I received a phone call from the manager who said that the charge was correct and that they would not refund me. I would not recommend this salon to anyone because to me the customer is always right and they had no business taking my money for a no show when in fact I did show up!! read more

Was in need of a quick blow out so scheduled an apt easily online after reading all the good reviews. Arrived and was attended to be Ashley who was very nice, friendly, and offered me a mimosa (yum). Ashley washed and blow dried my hair flawlessly. Loved how she washed my hair (almost fell asleep) and gave me a heads up before using cold water. I needed my hair professionally blow dried for an event. Seeing how I'm horrible at doing it myself and hearing great things about Swank from a friend of mine, I decided to give them a shot. Getting an appointment was easy and I arrived Friday afternoon. I was greeted and offered a beverage. I was with Alyssia who promptly took me towards the back to shampoo me. We briefly discussed what type of event, how I wanted my hair, etc. Then she worked her magic- literally! As she blow dried each section she pinned it up because I told her my hair wasn't great holding a curl. She eventually spun me around to face the mirror, took out the pins, and voila! My hair was FANTASTIC! She asked if I was going home to get ready and I told her I was. She then pinned my hair in a bun and told me when I was ready to un-pin it, flip my head upside down and just run my fingers through it if the curls were too tight. She was placing a lot of faith in me, seeing as how I'm not a hair wizard like her. However, I did as I was instructed a couple if hours later and my hair still looked GREAT! I can't say enough good things about Swank and I got a ton of compliments on my usually straight hair. They also offer other hair services there, which I will have to check out. I had been to Swank twice at the old location where I purchased 6 blow drys as a package that could be used at any time (no expiration date). I only used 2 and have 4 left. Since they have changed locations, I called to make a new appointment and was told they do not honor the packages at the new location. While I believe that it is unprofessional to decide to no longer honor a paid agreement to deliver services (regardless of location). I was told the old location, Blowout Blow-dry Bar, would honor the old package. When I called the old location/new business, I was told they could not see my package (they do not have the same systems of records as Swank) and could not honor. At this point, I feel I have been ripped off and would have been better off setting the $100-some dollars on fire instead of using either of these businesses. Swank told me I could come in as 'first time customer' to the new location and receive a blow out for $19.95. Why would I pay them again for a service I already paid for? Overall, really unhappy with the lack of professionalism or willingness to correct the issue. I was also denied any refund for the remaining 4 blow drys I already paid for. read more
