When I asked them why it was gonna cost that much they said it was because the part was a little more than they thought but was still around $600 for the part and couldn't tell me still why it was adding up to almost 3,000 dollars. I got a quote at Honda what it would be to fix my car and they gave me a quote for 1,000 for labor and part. Don't take your car here if you want to wait weeks on end and spend 2,000 dollars for labor.

Jimmy's staff does great mechanical work and they really care about their customers. I am sure they had the best intentions; however, we brought in an old car with what seemed to be a…read morebusted radiator. They said they were busy, but they would do a thorough inspection. We said "we just need it running". One week later, we get a thorough list of things to fix, including "polishing the headlights" all with a sum total of more than we paid for the car ($4500 on a 2004 car that was worth $4000). That should have been our clue to go elsewhere, but we trusted them and moved forward with the critical repairs, unaware of any risks. In their defense, they did say it could also be the gasket, but we do not know what that means or what it costs. After spending $2000 we learn that yes, the gasket was blown and that would cost $3000 to fix. (meaning, if they had their way, we would have spent $7500 on a car that was worth $4000.) If we had been made aware of this potentially LARGE risk, we would not have approved of the initial repairs, we would have just sold the car for parts. But instead we were stuck with paying $2k for a car that wouldn't run or adding another $3k for a car that still would need a few things. They claim to excel in customer service; however I do not feel confident in their motives. To me, good customer service involves working together with the customer to find a solution that makes the most sense, and helping the customer make the best decision while understanding the risks. It's not selling a cake for 2000 people when you're only expecting 50 guests. We took the car elsewhere to complete the repair, not because of the price, but because we didn't feel we could trust them to provide information for us to make a decision appropriate for the age of our car.

That is amazing and cool, just like the Lambo's and Ferraries. I like to do a lot of repairs myself and have a friend that helps me who is great. We had to bleed the brakes six times and we just couldn't get the air out. Chris told me they are Bembo and had no problem getting the shaking out of my brakes and bleeding the air out. Like it was nothing. You should have heard my buddy scream at those brakes. So doing it your self when you have a really great mechanic can be much more expensive, than using the great mechanic/Chris. Bought some higher end "Struts" to make it handle better. My buddy put them on ok, but when it came to making my car the right height. Yelling at my car again. Took it to Chris at A&M. Called me a few hours later and told me to pick it up. It's perfect. Being a race car mechanic, he knows higher end stuff. Please don't let that put off any other car owners. Mine is the only sports car I have seen there. So far. I hope to fix that. I have been here about three years. I have been burned pretty bad by two places in my area of W Asheville. Chris not only does a great job, but he is extremly/impressivly fair and honest with his prices.
