I would give Swan's 6 or more stars if I could. Our very large two story rental house was vacated after six years and the carpet looked awful - wrinkled and dingy. Initially we thought it could not be saved and came close to buying new carpet. But after Dale from Swans stretched and cleaned it, it looked fabulous - almost like new. Really, Swans saved us several thousand dollars. Plus they were so friendly and professional. And they were able to get the job done on a tight schedule. After repeated attempts to speak to an owner/manager at Swan's I have resorted to Yelp to voice my dissatisfaction with this company. The company has shrunk and caused discoloration of my rug. What is so mystifying is that I am a repeat satisfied customer with this specific rug. Of course the rug was expensive and cannot be replaced. I just wanted an answer to what went wrong. I also had them clean a sectional at the same time. Prior to this experience I didn't know that you only clean the front of the furniture not the back. I've had experience with Swan's for carpet cleaning in my apartment and found them to be very professional, thorough and competitively priced, so when I was gifted this beautiful Oriental rug and wanted to spiffy it up, Swan's was my first choice.. and I couldn't be more pleased! Initially, I didn't know what to do because this is NOT a cheapo rug; it's very heavy and due to my disability, I couldn't pick it up and bring it to them; but Swan's offers a pickup/delivery service for a very small fee.. so that's what I did, and they came the very next day to get it! They said it could take up to two or three weeks to get done, and amazingly, it was ready ONE WEEK later AND the actual cost was less than I was originally quoted (I don't know if that's because it wasn't that dirty and didn't require extensive cleaning or if it's because it was smaller than I guesstimated when arranging the project) In any case, I could not be more pleased with the service and the result-- look how beautiful this rug is, despite my poor photography skills, LOL --it looks brand new, doesn't it? My advice: Swan's should be your first call if and when you need your carpet or rug cleaned, and I'm confident you won't need to call anyone else! Ever! read more

Our first time to use Swan's was an experience that made my husband and me say that we would never use them again. I called the business and explained the situation. The manager as well as the owner were extremely apologetic and turned what could have been a bad experience into a very positive experience. The owner and manager not only sent out their most experienced technician to thoroughly clean all of the carpets again, but they reimbursed us for the total amount that we were billed on the first cleaning. Having been disappointed in the last carpet cleaning service I used, I turned to Yelp for advice. Swan's had great reviews so I gave them a try. Awesome service! Nice people. Got an appointment pretty quickly. They not only got out recent stains but they also got a stain out that has been there for years, one that several other companies have never been able to get out! Nothing short of a carpet cleaning miracle. They left us white booties, too, which no one has ever done. My kids were thrilled with their new "shoes." He's courteous, careful and does an outstanding job. My overall experience with Swan's was a great experience. They were able to fit me in a short time span for my move in. First the estimate: Dale came to the house and looked at everything and gave me a very fair price. Didn't take more than 15 minutes for the whole estimate and I especially liked how Dale said I could put furniture in the room if I had to, and they would work around it. Then the cleaning and stretching: Dale & Jose came to the house to clean and stretch my carpets and they were so quick, so efficient and very friendly. I really appreciated how they explained everything to me and were both so professional. both instances: I received a phone call when they were 15 minutes out (like I requested) and was able to pinpoint the exact amount of time I would need to be out of the Office. I could not believe that Swans could get all the carpet as clean as they did. Over 10 years of spills and dirt and little kids I believed this carpet was doomed to be replaced, but I thought a couple of hundred dollars to perhaps tidy it up would suffice for another year. Lost a lifelong customer. Swan's has been my go to for many many years. I have family coming for an extended stay and wanted to get the carpet cleaned in the room they're staying in. In addition I had the rest of carpets done in the house. I specifically showed the technician the bedroom I and explained the situation. They cleaned everything else but that room! When I called to ask about it the woman demanded full payment over the phone immediately and said they couldn't come back for a week. When I explained I had been a lifelong customer she got very snarky and rude. No apologies, no attempt to make it right. When I said I would just call another company she said "feel free!". I am so disappointed and furious that the job was not completed, no apology or attempt to make it to right was made, and still the one room in the house I needed clean for this weekend is still left undone. Do yourself a favor and go to a different carpet company for any work in Whatcom County. I asked them to clean my carpet and they ended up ripping out an entire portion without my consent. Not to mention, when they removed it, they cut it in a line that wasn't straight. It ended up costing me several thousands of dollars to replace the carpet that they tore out. When I called back to ask why they removed it without my consent, the owner was extremely rude and hung up on me. HORRIBLY ran business with poor management. There's plenty of other options, don't make the same mistake I did. read more
