Plumbing and home repair stuff is not an easy biz. You get different opinions from different pros. My situation was fairly black and white in that my water heater was dying and we needed a new one. SWAT was assigned to us by our home warranty service. I'm rating them based on their communication with us and the conduct of their plumbers. They get high marks on both fronts. Their notifications process is that you get a text when your plumber is headed to the call before you so you can get your butt home. Then another one when they're headed to you along with a link to track via gps. At one point during our saga, I called their office and left a message after hours. I got a prompt call back the next day. Points man! As far as the people go, the admin staff over the phone and the two plumbers we dealt with, Cody (legendary) and Jason were both polite and professional during their respective visits. I appreciate that they put on booties without me asking before entering our house. That's a big deal for Asian households. They explained the issue to us and the out-of-pocket costs associated with it pretty clearly as it pertained to our policy. They installed the new WH and did a good job, were efficient and left a clean work area. Based on this experience I would recommend them with the suggestion that if it's something complicated, get a couple of opinions and quotes (3 is better but out of pocket DX co$t$), so you can make an informed decision. read more

I had such a negative experience with SWAT Plumbing this past month that I won't be using them again or recommending them to anyone. My hot water went out, so I went through my home warranty company and they sent SWAT. Two techs show up, stay for 10 minutes, and tell me the gas pressure valve isn't working. They say the part is old and probably discontinued. They leave, call their office, and days later I'm told the part can't be sourced and I need a whole new hot water heater. My warranty only covers a small portion, which is already frustrating. I call multiple times to get clarity on what's being installed and how long it will take. Everyone is polite at this stage. The installation day comes, two different techs complete the install... and I still have no hot water. The pressure valve still isn't working. These two ask to check the gas line, and we discover Atmos locked my meter by mistake. Atmos shut off my gas instead of my neighbor's during a teardown. I call SWAT again to ask whether the first team ever checked the gas line. They did not. I get multiple "oh no's" and shock from the team because the mistake was so obvious. I didn't need a new hot water heater at all. I just needed Atmos to turn my gas back on. Only my water heater and furnace run on gas so I didn't know until the hot water was gone. They tell me the Plumbing Manager, Keith Cantrell, will call me. Days go by. No call. After the holiday, I call again. The energy shifts completely. Keith is dismissive, rude, and condescending. "What do you expect me to do?" "I guess we'll reinstall your old hot water heater then." "You're the homeowner, you should know your gas is off." I explain (again) that only my water heater and furnace run on gas, and it's summer, so the hot water outage was the only indicator. He promises a call by Friday. Friday comes and still no phone call by 2:30 pm. I call again and wait on hold for 26 minutes, before being told I'll get a call back. When Keith finally does return my call, he tells me there's nothing he can do and no refund, even though their team didn't check the gas meter before deciding I needed a brand new water heater. I ask, "So you're not going to do anything even though your team misdiagnosed the issue. As a homeowner I'm supposed to be a gas tech and a plumber before I call you?" He says, "Yes." I ask to speak with the Owner. I've been told multiple times he was "meeting with the Owner" while I sat on hold for 20+ minutes. Keith now says "the Owner doesn't come into the office and there are only two managers". So someone lied -- either he wasn't meeting with the Owner when I was on hold, he won't let me speak with the Owner, or SWAT Plumbing isn't actually family owned and operated like their hold music claims. So now I get to pay for a hot water heater I didn't need. Thanks for putting me in debt, SWAT Plumbing. Moral of the story: unless you personally know how to diagnose the issue and fix it yourself, don't use SWAT Plumbing. read more

We were without hot water due to our hot water heater being out and my wife called our home warranty service and this is the company that they sent us. They couldn't even get someone out to us until late that afternoon even though we called that morning. When they came they diagnosed the problem and said they would have to order a part and that it might be in the next day. It wasn't in the next day or the next day. My wife asked where the part was coming from and was told that it was local, so it wasn't like they were having it shipped, they could have just sent someone to go pick it up, heck I would have gone to pick it up. Anyways it was a holiday weekend and come Tuesday we had been without hot water for another 6 days. My wife is disabled, I had to rent a hotel so that I could take care of her there, So I called them on Tuesday and asked if the part was in and was told quite rudely that they had already told my wife that they would call her as she as the part was in their hands and then schedule us to come and fix the hot water heater. I hung up and called another service who came out and fixed my hot water heater that afternoon. Swat finally called back and said that they had the part and could schedule us for tomorrow. I told them no, you've been dealing with my very nice wife, now you're dealing with the asshole husband and I really want to tell you what you can do with that part. Apparently you have too many customers and I won't make a difference, but I've already called the home warranty company and you're off their list and they refunded my money for you coming out. They just didn't have any sense of urgency. It's like we'll get to you when we get to you attitude. A huge Red , White and Blue branded truck has been parkied in front of my home. I approached the truck to see if i could help with a address but no one was visible inside with the very dark windows. I called the phone number on the truck and listened to the spiel about the $250 after service cost to just come out. A lady answered and told me they were working on the street but i never saw them enter or leave a home. Time went by and the HUge Branded truck was still parked in front of my house there so i approached again and this time a man was inside. He said he was working at a neighbor but didnt know the name of the customer, hum. If You have plumbing problems and want a HUGE BRANDED truck and $250 service fee call these people. read more

We scheduled the repair with our home warranty. SWAT sent Mark B. to help us out with a leak on the fridge hook up valve and the outdoor wall hydrant. All were fixed 100%, better than expected. He also tested the main house water connection and detected a very small leak that we didn't know about. He was punctual, very clear communication and a high level of expertise. DO NOT USE SWAT PLUMBING! They're unprofessional, overpriced, and understaffed. I hired them to replace my sewage line. There were several days where no one showed up to work on it, or would show up at 4pm to leave before 6pm. When I called to receive updates on the project (because I could never find someone on my property), none of their managers knew what their people were doing. Their team missed the city inspection TWICE and didn't inform me either time. They didn't even know that they hadn't finished the project. To top it off, they caused damage in my siding and left trash in my yard. The project was supposed to take 3-4 days, it took over two weeks and cost $2k over the quoted price. read more

We had a slab leak. For a $10k price tag they tunneled under our house and fixed the leak. Less than a year later, we had a slab leak in the same spot that was repaired. The only option they gave us was to re-pipe our house for another $10k (discounted price). Less than a year later, we have pipes fail inside a kitchen wall, leading to flooding and damage inside our walls, carpet, and flooring. They came out and cut holes into the walls to fix the leak on 5.9. It is now 6.23 and nothing has been done. We keep getting ghosted. I feel robbed. We have payed this company $22k and are having issues all the time with any work they have ever done. They have done nothing to fix the the giant hole they cut in my wall, or fix any damage done to the carpets, flooring, and door from the pipe leaking. This company is trash and would not recommend to anyone. Please choose someone else before choosing swat. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. ANYONE IS BETTER THAN SWAT. read more

I would never recommend this company to anyone. It took 2 months to fix a simple sink faucet hose. The 1st guy, Rueben, was very rude. I told them not to send him to finish the job. He ordered the part in May. Weeks later I had to call and follow up. Almost 2 months later the part was in. They sent a 2nd guy out. He asked me what he was there to look at? The company sent him with no part and no information. Finally in July, after 2 months, a 3rd guy came to replace the hose. 20 mins after he left a 4th guy from swat called to say he was on his way to fix my toilet. I never had a toilet issue so not sure why they had him call me. This company is extremely slow to complete the job and very unorganized!!! I'm an extremely dissatisfied customer!!! read more

We had multiple plumbers come out for a clogged line issue. The first two techs couldn't figure it out--one even wanted to cut into walls and ceilings, all without certainty. They also charged $450 for running a camera that got stuck and didn't solve anything. Finally, a third tech came, went straight to the sinks, and cleared the clog in 20 minutes. Problem solved. Yet the company insists on keeping most of the $450 camera fee, even though it was useless. Very disappointing service and billing practices. read more

I still don't have hot water and it's been over a week. I sat at home last Friday which was 7 days ago waiting for one of the employees to come and he was a no-show. Saturday Andrew comes out and says he can't order the part yet and It was probably going to take forever for this part to come in but when I call the company on Monday they said oh yeah Andrew has it on his list to do on Tuesday. Finally they order the part and today is Thursday and I stayed at home all day today and Andrew comes to my door at about 8:40 pm with the wrong part and says oh sorry and he can't make it tomorrow he's booked. I contacted my warranty provider and unfortunately I received swat plumping. my whole issue is regarding a smell and I had the company, Rebath tell me it could be a restriction in the vent or pipes. After I explained this to swat they had a guy come to the house for 5 minutes and recommend I do a smoke test ($2k plus) he also refused to do a snake or anything in my pipes because he couldn't snake anything if he couldn't see a clog. however the first thing out his mouth was oh wow yeah you do have a pretty awful smell. after I complained that no service was done, swat had another guy come out and did absolutely nothing. I have continued to explain it's a smell but they try to tell me they can do nothing because my service request is regarding a clog. impossible for anyone to actually listen to your issue and if they do, they'll just do a half ass job and give you a run around . worst service I've had in quite some time. pray your warranty provider doesn't stick you with swat plumbing . read more

Very painful experience so far . They are the only plumber on one of the warranty Networks . When the first game to diagnose the problem they said that it was due to a storm surge that broke my water heater. I challenged that since there was no visible damage at all. They retracted since they had not even done proper investigation. Then the warranty agreed to do the replacement . Now they are charging $1,900 for vent modification. I already have an existing tankless water heater . Do not use this Company is a scam, they just try to rip off customers. A plumber was assigned to my house through my home warranty company AHS, the issue I have is a small leak in my kitchen faucet that only drip some water by the side when I turned on the faucet, based on my research and advise from other plumbers. It just needs a gasket change inside the faucet. Since I am not an expert doing this and since I have my AHS account, I decided to call them. they assigned this contractor SWAT Plumbing. When they came to my house, they did not even try to fix the dripping faucet, they went straight to check the water pressure and advise my AHS company that the reason my faucet is dripping is because my water pressure was above normal and need to install a prv and expansion tank which is $2.3K estimation cost not covered by the home insurance. First time in my 20-year owing a house and dealing with repairs, that a simple water leak in my faucet will cost me $2.3K to be fixed. Of course, they say they cannot fix the faucet until the expansion tank is installed. What a rip off company just trying to make money from residents. I do not recommend this company to anyone. On the day I put in my service request, they were able to schedule me for 1 week out. I thought that was a little long to wait -- what if the plumbing issue was more serious?? But the woman on the phone assured me that was the best they could do and other plumbers would most likely have similar wait times. I just took her word for it, haha.
