Stay away. As a Verteran, first responder, and school teacher, I strongly recommend you not use this business. While purchasing couches the sales lady pushed a warranty on me. I purchased the warranty and since then have made 3 claims on it. Every single one was denied. I called Sweat's to resolve and was just given the run around. Obviously they just got their money and didn't care about the aftermath. To all my fellow Cops, Firemen, Medical responders, FLETC, and citizens...do not purchase from Sweats. Worst Curstomer service I have ever received! I had purchased a sectional sofa and one of the pulls for the recliner broke. When I asked them to order a replacement part, they said it may take a while. Thats just how the furniture business is they said! It has been four months and still no part, no phone call, no return phone call when I call to check on the status of the part ordered. Store employees brought back identical model & color of chair claiming that the same chair "was fixed." It was NOT the same chair. Was told I had to except chair back into possession because whether I kept it or not, they refused to grant a refund. Forced to accept delivery of 2nd chair. Chair is fine. At least it is functional. Will never purchase at Sweat's again because of dishonesty, even when the truth would've been more pleasing. read more

I am a landlord and manage half a dozen rental houses on Saint SImons Island, most of them furnished for short term vacation rentals or FLETC rentals. As a result, I can't afford to spend retail prices for furniture or appliances (or anything, for that matter). When we need furniture, we comparison shop all over Glynn County, even going to Jesup (no bargains there). Since 2001, I have bought literally thousands of dollars of new furniture from Mr. Ward Sweat, the owner of Sweat's furniture. We even custom ordered two sectional sofas through Sweat's, and the pricing was impossible to beat. Mr. Sweat is an honest man, and I just called and bought a king bed set and frame at an unbeatable price. One time, I bought a stained floor model LAZY-BOY recliner for only $100 cash, and I still enjoy sitting in it (even though it had a stain on the back.) I have NEVER had an unsatisfactory experience with Mr. Sweat or his staff, and I am happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a good value furniture store. Also, at least with bedding, they offer free delivery, free set-up, and free removal, which is very important to us because we live in Decatur and can't always be there. I purchased a leather chair with the ottoman right off the showroom floor. My expectations were that the chair and ottoman were in good condition. After having the chair delivered, I noticed scratches on the leather of the ottoman and the chair. One of the legs had a deep scratch on it and the chair backing underneath was ripped away from the chair. The chair actually looked used. I took pictures and sent them to the salesperson. They said that they couldn't do anything because when I purchased the chair, it was understood that I would take the chair "as is". To add insult to injury, when I had the purchase of the chair placed on their store credit card, I had to pay cash for delivery charges and all taxes, with the explanation of "Sweat's has always done that and their syncrony bank credit card was a financing program that Sweat's uses." So I paid for the tax and the delivery charge separately. Now, after I decided to have them come and pick up the chair, they charged me for picking up the chair, consequently, they still received delivery and pick-up charges for a chair that I did not want. Results: I was very disappointed with their claim of "always striving for customer satisfaction". My mother did business with Sweat's Furniture for over 40 years, however, I will never do anymore business with Sweat's Furniture again and neither will anyone else in my family do business with them again. read more
