When we need furniture, we comparison shop all over Glynn County, even going to Jesup (no bargains there). Since 2001, I have bought literally thousands of dollars of new furniture from Mr. Ward Sweat, the owner of Sweat's furniture. We even custom ordered two sectional sofas through Sweat's, and the pricing was impossible to beat. Mr. Sweat is an honest man, and I just called and bought a king bed set and frame at an unbeatable price. One time, I bought a stained floor model LAZY-BOY recliner for only $100 cash, and I still enjoy sitting in it (even though it had a stain on the back.) I have NEVER had an unsatisfactory experience with Mr. Sweat or his staff, and I am happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a good value furniture store. Also, at least with bedding, they offer free delivery, free set-up, and free removal, which is very important to us because we live in Decatur and can't always be there. I had a question, but I overheard the woman placing a phone order for her lunch with very specific requirements. Blah, blah blah. From one call to the other, she didn't even take a break to see if the customers needed assistance. She never acknowledged or greeted me. I was interested in making a purchase but walked out instead. The sales people that sold me this Marian, and summer did not pick up my calls and I would not take talk to me so they gave me the decorative pillows that go with the comforter so I will take those back because I'm gonna use for them and they can tell them away. I have always loved Big Lots but due to the conditions inside the store it makes it extremely difficult to stay longer than a few minutes. My family and I went in yesterday at this location in Brunswick Georgia and had to leave before completing our shopping list. I felt So terribly bad for their employees in particular the one lady ringing us up. While we were trying to shop we began to sweat profusely and when we decided to leave prematurely and approached our unfortunate cashier...we noticed beads of sweat dripping down her eyes behind her glasses. It's bad enough that the customers have to endure that kind of heat (yesterday's temperatures was 104° with a heat index of 113°-outside), but just IMAGINE being an employee there having to work a full shift in those conditions and it's not even August yet. I'm sure that it's affe ting their business. In fact when we were in our car making calls to try and get them help with AC repair, 4 grown men entered the store and in less than a minute walked right back out again empty handed. I sold my washing machine in order to get the new unit. They delivered a broken unit that had been used. The associate misled us after getting our money. Four days later, we are still without a way to wash laundry, to make it worse they said they would be getting some new units on their truck by today but now they say that the units are hard to get. I believe they should have let us know that from the first day. I am so disappointed with this business. Now we have to wait to get our money back.

We received our furniture and the delivery guys were from the Jesup store. The locking mechanism on our sectional was broken and would not lock. I was told after the attemp by the delivery person to take a hammer to it that the new piece that was ordered was damaged when they received it so the store manager Sandy had them take the floor model piece from the store as a replacement. To me this is passing off a used (and broken) piece of furniture off as new with no notice. The dust cover on the bottom of the sectional was hanging off of the armed couch and stuffing is coming out of that piece as well. I contacted the manager who just said we will order you a new one and rushed me off the phone with no concern or apology. This after I had to call as I never heard when the couch would be delivered and I had to call to ask... Sandy. It is a huge and expensive sectional... beware... seems like this store has issues and takes no accountability nor try to make it right with no real concern for customer.satisfaction. Glory is the only one in the store (at least that I encountered) who was helpful and should be applauded for her work. If a customer orders something new maybe it should be given new... because that is what is paid for. Sandy needs some customer service and management skill training. They do not carry basic housewares, which is what I was seeking on my visit to supplement my JI rental house's kitchen, but we took a little time to look around just the same. Store is tidy and arranged nicely. Owner is very friendly and sociable, ready to answer any questions and tell all she knows about the provenance of any piece. Items were eclectic and vintage. I grew up with true 100+yo antiques passed down over generations and was taught a lot about old things. I'm versed in 20thC vintage items from my own curiosity and collections over the years. The merch I saw at Rummage is fun and vintage (mostly 1990s to now on my visit). However, you never know what may end up here as a consignment shop, so it's always evolving. Prices were mostly on par with eBay if you include shipping. If there is a home decor item you need it is worth a look.
