They are doing a soft opening today at the new parkville location and it is the cutest donut shop! Pink is there color for sure and it's a vibe! They even have a little kids sitting area/play area!!! They have a machine that freshly squeezes the cream into the donuts as well!!! Yum!!! So glad to have a donut shop close to me in parkville now! Service was amazing and they even recommended flavors!!

I was visiting family in Kansas City area and we wanted to pickup some donuts. This place wasn't too far and had good reviews. Its located in a small strip mall and the sign just says Donuts- not Fresh Donuts. This place seems more family owned versus a chain- it sticks to classics. I really like how you can pick your filling and they do it right in front of you. It looked like they had strawberry jam, lemon and frosting- not sure if that changes. We got a random assortment- jelly filled, frosted filled, chocolate sprinkle cake, vanilla sprinkle yeast, 2 chocolate long johns and a glazed yeast. They were all really fresh and good- the service inside was also really friendly. I would absolutely go back! Overall experience 4.5/5

Fresh Donuts is hands down the best in the Northland, and I'm not just saying that, their donuts are THE BEST IN THE AREA BY FAR! My new obsession is their cronuts. They're my absolute favorite pastry now! A protip for anyone going: you have to get there early to get a cronut, because they sell out fast, and for good reason. They are flaky, fresh, and perfectly delicious. The variety they offer is also amazing. Whether you're in the mood for a classic glazed, something with sprinkles, or something chocolate covered, you can't go wrong. If you're a donut lover this place is a must visit. You won't be disappointed with the service, cozy location or donuts!

Delish fresh and good options The line went out the door when we go there but that's okay It was worth it

The best apple fritters around! They actually have real APPLES in them! And it's not just a few hear and there. They fill the fritter up with them! Always our favorite donut shop in KC!!

I haven't found a donut shop worth getting fat for since moving away (3yrs ago) from Fluffy Fresh in Mission, Kansas...until Fresh Donuts was introduced to our morning taste buds recently. Hello my new friend :) Clean corner shop right off of Barry Rd. Plenty of workers inside working the lines. Yes, lines, but worth the wait, cause it moves quickly. The Red Velvet Cake Donut was made from heaven! Moist and delicious with a light, crunchy glaze on the outside. The rest of the family devours the Long John's, Cronuts, Jelly's and more. Not a complaint one, just crumbs. A bit more pricey than I was used to donuts costing, but guess that can be said about all things now. Considering the quality, I don't mind so much the price.

You are here!

I love supporting local Kansas City restaurants, especially when they're only six miles away. This morning I made my first trip to Fresh Donuts to see why it has almost a perfect rating on Yelp. I also wanted to know why the line snakes out the front door. Given it was Father's Day and a Sunday there were 10 customers outside in line and maybe five inside. The line took maybe five minutes and then it was my turn. The place just smells yummy when you walk in. My wife loves Apple Fritters and the last two were sold to the person in front of me. So I bought some classic Glazes and cake donuts with Strawberry frosting. Our call - super fresh, great flavor and texture. It's waiting line worthy! We've wanted a new local donut shop to replace the long-gone one in a drive-up location near the QT by Zona Rosa. And now we've found it!

Maple Logs, Blueberry, Apple Fritter. A box of heaven!

I scored on another hidden gem! Hands down the BEST doughnuts I've ever had! Very cute and clean inside, I haven't came across freshly made doughnuts that literally melts in your mouth with every bite! They have all types of assortments to choose from; cake, yeast donuts, pastries, breakfast sandwiches you name it. I was greeted immediately when I walked in, the lady helping me answer all the questions I had. I ended up buying a dozen of donuts due to all the different options. Lol. The red velvet and strawberry shortcake were my favorite. The glaze were a 10/10, and per my coworkers the chocolate covered donuts with sprinkles were a 10/10 as well. They are only open 5am-1pm so go while supplies last! I'm definitely coming here every chance I get!

Jelly doughnut, cronut, cake, a cream filled long John

The most fresh, soft and not oily doughnuts. Some of the best I have ever had. Line starts at 5am when they open. We went right at that time.

Went here at 10:30 on a Saturday morning. The line was out the door but wasn't a terribly long wait. I got an old fashion, blueberry, strawberry, and double chocolate. All of them were cake donuts. I managed to snag the last blueberry which I was happy about lol. All of them tasted great. None of them were too sweet and they were all soft and pillowy. The old fashion just had a small hint of sweetness which I really enjoyed. Probably the best old fashion I've had from any donut place. They also have savory items with sausage and hotdogs but I'll have to try those some other time. If you go here I'd recommend going as early as you can since they do close at 1. The earlier you go the more variety you'll get and obviously the fresher the donut.

Delicious cronut

Come early! I got here at 9am on a Friday and there were plenty of donuts - luckily there were a bunch of cronuts left because I had my heart set on "Kansas City's best cronut". Everyone needs to try this - however if you eat in the car, know that it will get all over the place. I came in again at 1-2ish on a Friday and they were already closed. So note to self/you, get there early, get two, and be mindful of where you eat.

Best donuts in the Northland. If you know of any other sources of donuts in the Northland, good luck as these are by far the best! They are NEVER dry, they are ALWAYS super fresh and soft. They blow QT donuts out of the water and are closed on Mondays so be aware. Not cheap but the best around!

As I walked up I noticed a line hanging outside the door... hmmmmm, I wondered would I be able to be seated and not have to be at the bar? Well, I opted for outdoor seating and this was a "way around" the wait. Outdoor to the patio we go. Everything was ok until a saw these 2 huge "service dogs" sitting outside with their owners... ehhhhhhh not the way I wanted to spend breakfast, smelling dog, but I figured maybe it'd be ok. But it wasn't through the meal when the wind kicked up, I smelled dog. And I even noticed one of the owners feeding the dog from the table... Eww. Additionally, this so-called "service dog" rose up on all fours when another dog walked on the sidewalk outside of the patio. I thought service dogs were... Never mind... I love how the menu is sectioned off into a sweet side, a healthier side, traditional... Seems like there's something here for everyone. The menu was an easy read and even going using the QR code to 'eat with your eyes' as they put it was also great because there's an opportunity for you to see exactly what the food looks like prior to ordering. I ordered the breakfast tacos, hold the meat, a morning meditation & a honey crunch iced coffee. Breakfast tacos, hold the meat or quite feeling. The avocado was fresh. The eggs were scrambled perfect to perfection and the tortillas were different from what I've ever had, but I love them all the more. The morning meditation was a mixture of orange juice, beet juice, tumeric and some other ingredients And it was blended perfect to perfection. No one ingredient overpowered the other. And to look at it was quite delightful. And the honey crunch ice coffee was created perfectly. The glass had caramel drizzled on the inside and the iced coffee filled the glass. There was a layer of foam and decorations on top of the phone. It was really too pretty to drink, but I ordered it, so I had to partake of the velvety goodness of the iced coffee. The ambience was perfect, minus the "service animallllls" that were outside on the patio with me. If you are people watcher, this is a great area to be in. I was able to enjoy my meal and watch the traffic as people approached the red lights and left on their way to their destinations, busying themselves with things to do and places to be. I found pricing to be just right, not too high, perfect inline with the standards for breakfast brunch restaurant meals. I will try this place again next time I'm in the area. Maybe they'll franchise in New Orleans... But until then, when I return, I'll sit inside.

They have added Messenger Coffee drinks and expanded their pastry and small bite savory items with a seperate menu. It was a bit confusing for my first time visit, which door do I enter? Do I order at the kiosk? Do I wait to be seated? Some signs would surely help. After wandering around in both dining rooms and looking at a menu at the kiosk, I was finally approached and was seated in the cafe. The room has a relaxed feel with cozy chairs and tables, a few plants and books and some comforting classical music playing. I was immediately brought a water glass by my stylishly dressed waiter. I started asking a few questions about the menu, when he asked me to follow him to the other room where I could see the variety of baked goods in the glass warming case. I made my selection and was soon brought my ham and cheese Medialuna (small croissant), a Fat Biscuit (baked rolled dough) and my cappuccino. Pricing is a bit high but the service and atmosphere was above average and the vibe was relaxing after I understood the ordering system, and the menu was unique. A great little coffee / brunch option for the Tiffany Springs / Zona Rosa / MCI area.

The restaurant has been open about four years, but the recipes go back much further. The family's original sister restaurant in Argentina dates back to 1987, and the food absolutely feels rooted in tradition and authenticity. This was actually my first experience trying Argentinian food. From the Milanesas section of the menu, I ordered the Napolitana, topped with tomato sauce, ham, and cheese. I later learned it's supposedly soccer legend Lionel Messi's favorite dish. To me, it reminded me a bit of a deep-fried German schnitzel, in the best possible way. It came with delicious fries that disappeared quickly. My wife absolutely loved the freshly made empanadas. One detail we thought was clever: each empanada is stamped with a number identifying the filling, which makes ordering and sharing much easier. The surprise star of the meal was the Rogel cake for dessert. Thin, flaky layers packed with dulce de leche and topped with toasted meringue/ rich, crunchy, sweet and absolutely unforgettable Another fun surprise was the robot that delivers the food from the kitchen before the server brings it to your table. A small touch, but memorable. The pricing is incredibly reasonable, especially considering how authentic and satisfying the food is. Definitely a hidden gem in Kansas City if you're looking to try something different.
