Great coffee. Lots of Monin syrup flavors to choose from. They have indoor tables , a couch area and a few tables outside. Great spot to get some studying done (they have free WiFi), meet up with friends or just reflex to escape the summer heat. Excellent coffee. Stopped in on a Saturday after 1pm and Apple Maps said they were closed but thankfully that was not the case! They have a ton of flavor options (and even many sugar free) so I had a hard time deciding but finally went with sugar free blackberry and sugar free mocha in a cappuccino with coconut milk. It was fantastic. Didn't even taste sugar free and the coconut milk was well foamed. They have a lot of seating inside as well and they sell some cute products near the register. Aww to see some lower reviews are based on mundane things like background music, location or nit pick sweet aroma on what kind of bowl they use, A suggestion to the customers, maybe communicate and ask if the soup can be served in a golden chalice or fine china before ordering? Sorry that your walk down an alley resulted in a coffee and pastry shop, and not some evil lair. Anyhoo, for me, Thursdays used to be just another day for me until my boss started bringing in scones from here. It was great at first, but Now? It's a full-blown addiction. I don't even greet her anymore, I just rabid cat swat at the bag till she drops it. She's going to try and show up empty-handed one Thursday, but I'll throw a hissyfit, stomp over to my desk cough once, call in sick then drive there myself. I called the store to question about quality of ingredients and that call could have gone much better. I felt like a huge inconvenience/burden to the owner as she demanded to know who she was speaking to like I was working for the media or something , I stated I was a customer/parent and that was not good enough for her so that concluded our conversation. I personally feel that all products containing chemical food dyes should have warning labels. Sweet Aromas is a neat coffee shop in downtown Bellefountaine. It's next to the courthouse on the oldest concrete street in the United States. They serve multiple brews of coffee and sell a wide range of pastries that looked absolutely delicious. Key lime cupcakes and fruit tarts are some of the treats I was eyeing. The location is spacious and there are couches as well as 2-person tables and 4-person tables. There's even a huge 8-person table near the front window and a window ledge along the other wall. It's a great space. Perhaps a little hard to find, since it's along Opera St rather than the Main Street. I am glad that the Italian expresso flag hanging from the window alerted me to its presence. Why only three stars? The music was god-awful: the kind of CD that inexpensive massage therapists play in the background. It was not soothing: it was loud. It was tacky. I almost didn't buy coffee because when I went in and set my purse on a 2-person table to claim it, I thought, oh my Lord, THIS MUSIC! Then I realized that I could enjoy my coffee outside at one of their two tables out front. The view from the street is great for small-town observing, and I can't hear the music from inside. I hope this afternoon's music choice was just an aberration. I would recommend Sweet Aromas to anyone needing java who is in or passing through Bellefountaine. read more

Cute coffee shop in downtown Bellefontaine. Very warm and welcoming environment with lots of cozy chairs. We got two iced coffees to go -- one of the Jamaican blend and one of the Java blend. The java was a more smokey flavor (dark roast) and the Jamaican was a lot more bold. Both were great! I also got one of their blueberry lavender cupcakes which was AWESOME. The cake to frosting ratio was a little off but the coffee helped to wash down the extra frosting. The cake portion was super moist. Check them out and get you a cupcake! read more

Cute location on courthouse square in Bellefontaine. It is a nice spot to saddle up with a book or laptop for a couple hours. The coffee and food is good enough, but the service is amazingly slow. The last couple times I went there, I sat down to wait for my coffee-only order (5+ minutes). It is not clear to me why I had to wait that long either time because the shop was not busy. Also, their loyalty card is mediocre. One must purchase 12 cups before getting the 13th free. In March 2020, I stopped by to support local business during the COVID and the employee told me that they were not punching loyalty card during the pandemic. WTF?! read more

The employees are nice. But aren't they always most of the time anywhere you go? I went in and ordered an iced caramel macchiato with almond milk and added cinnamon spice to it. They BARELY put any milk in it. I will post a picture when I get on yelp on my phone but right now Im on my computer so its more difficult. The atmosphere is alright I guess. Seems like a place where hipsters might like to meet up at, I mean if they don't mind awful coffee. Ambiance was very nice and relaxing, nice decor and subtle music. However, the chicken noodle soup left a lot to be desired. The odd combination of a china plate, cardboard bowl, plastic utensils, then china mug for coffee was just confusing. The soup had that metallic taste of canned broth if more than that. Maybe I was expecting too much but I was sorely disappointed. I had one chunk of chicken in a sea of noodles and pretty greasy broth. I realize Sweet Aromas is mainly a coffee shop, yet if you are going to serve food let it match the quality of your coffee drinks and baked goods. I have a MAJOR sweet tooth, so I was excited to hear a little bakery/coffee shop was opening in Bellefontaine. Unfortunately like most other local stores that pop up in this town, Sweet Aromas ended up disappointing me. First of all, the location is horrible. There's no reason to go down this little alley unless you work at the courthouse, so it's basically "out of sight, out of mind". Secondly, the cupcakes tasted horrible. Yes, they look beautiful: gorgeous packaging and thick icing that spirals 4 inches on top of the cake. That pretty icing, however, just tastes like slick grease and the cake itself is dry. We got a special buckeye cupcake that had some peanut butter cream stuffed in the middle, which was flavorless and just made the entire thing wet and soggy. Some of the cookies sound creative, but the cowboy and chocolate chip cookies that I had were hard and bland. Too expensive for such greasy, flavorless treats. Coffee was hot but no more special than a McDonald's brew. Overall, Sweet Aromas is a great treat for the eyes but a below-average experience for the tastebuds, and after 2 visits I probably won't be going back. read more
