I always like stopping in here. They have so many interesting candy and other food items. Plus they are very friendly. You just want to support people Luke this. My husband and I stopped by for gelato on a Sunday afternoon. We didn't bother to check the hours of operation because the 'open' sign was on. So inside we went and picked out our gelato. The owner was friendly and polite. He even took a picture of us when we asked. The gelato was TASTY. When we left we noticed that he turned off the open sign, then we realized we had went in at closing time. I was Very impressed we weren't rushed out, or told that it was closing. I used to live in Fargo, but moved to the East Coast seven years ago. Sweet Dreams Confections used to be one of my favorite places in Fargo, so I made a point of stopping by during a recent visit. I went with my Mom, who hadn't been there, and told her I needed to go to see if the nicest man in Fargo still worked there. He did! And he was just as nice as I remembered. I have gotten used to East Coast standards of politeness, and talking to the owner made me like people again. I was also really pleased by the selection and variety. The gelato was great, as always, but I also loved the homemade selection of chocolates I got. Mom regretted that we hadn't stopped by BEFORE assembling gift baskets for some out-of-town visitors. Sweet Dreams Confections had a great selection of locally made products. I was afraid that this shop wouldn't live up to my memory of it, but if anything, it was the opposite. I would give this place 100 stars if I could. This place is so much fun and they have such a wide variety of candy, soda, fudge, and other delicious goodies and gift items. They make their own gelato, fudge, and other wonderful chocolate items, like cake pops, truffles, chocolate covered nuts, etc. Their gelato is unreal, their fudge is top notch, and they have the BEST chocolate covered potato chips. I prefer theirs to the Chippers from Widman's. They even have a little coffee shop. They have a huge selection of unique or old fashioned soda. Everything from regular old root beer, to weird flavors like buffalo chicken wing. We always grab a couple bottles to try when we stop in, and the weird flavors (like ranch dressing or bacon) make fun gifts. They also have fancy gourmet chocolate bars, cotton candy, and a huge array of saltwater taffy and gummy candies that you can choose from and throw into a bag and you pay by how much it weighs. They have cool retro candies like satellite wafers, as well as candy from around the world. This place is so unique and it's locally owned by the cutest old couple. I always bring friends and family here when they visit, and I tell everyone I know to come here because it truly is a special place. read more
