We came here with friends for round 2 of a play date and I didn't quite know what to expect. It shares the same lot as Kam Man Market (on the opposite end) so there is decent parking, but could definitely fill up fast. When we were there - on a rainy Saturday - the parking lot was consistently at 80% capacity. It is a small unassuming shop and the flavors are definitely more Asian inspired - but they thankfully have your classics like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, and cookies and cream. They also have soft serve according to their menu... but not while we were there due to unknown reasons. Colorful benches line the walls but there are no tables. Prices start at $4 for a kiddie cup, just over $6 for a 1 scoop cup and then increases in increments of $3 for each additional scoop. You also have a choice of cups, toppings, and various cones for an additional cost. This is an Asian establishment and it took me almost by surprise because I forgot how it could be but they limit only 2 samples per person. Requests for additional cups, spoons, etc, can also result in an additional fee. Paying by cash is cheaper... I assume there's a convenience fee if paying by card. Napkins and spoons are behind the counter; you'll need to ask for more (each item comes with a single napkin). Having said all that, they're a decent amount of nice? But not particularly chatty. I was pleasantly surprised. My youngest has multiple food allergies (wheat, eggs, nuts, avocado, kiwi, pineapple) and they don't have an allergy sheet, but they seem to know what's in their ice cream although not very forthcoming. Their ice cream doesn't contain eggs - thankfully (but we also got a comment in a not-too-pleasant tone that "eggs are in custard"... you'd be surprised how many scoopable ice cream recipes contain eggs). We ended up getting: CHOCOLATE KIDDIE CUP: my allergy kid got this! It was scooped with a new scoop and he finished his cup and had no symptoms from contamination. Yay! COOKIES AND CREAM in a WAFFLE CONE: my other kid who only gets cookies and cream ice cream got this and she finished it as well! I didn't get to try it but I assume it was good. LYCHEE and MILK TEA in a CUP (2 scoops): very good flavors and not too sweet. I sampled these two and ended up going for them since I couldn't sample anything else. The ice cream here is great in fun flavors, which are sadly lost on my kids. I'm definitely going back to sample two more flavors and then proceed to get them. Prices are fairly reasonable... and my youngest didn't leave disappointed so major kudos to that. They make ice cream cakes and I'm really intrigued by it. Maybe I'll get a small one for myself one day... I love the idea of sweets that are perfectly sweet.

I can't rave more about this place. This is one of our family's favorite ice cream spots in the area. The woman working there is incredibly accommodating and friendly. The ice cream quality is amazing and it's made special that their products don't upset any of our stomachs (some members are sensitive to dairy.) They have a 20 different flavors of ice cream with a good selection of Asian flavors such as black sesame, ube and durian. The black sesame is one of the best I've ever eaten there. It's creamy, flavorful, and, most importantly, not too sweet. They don't only have ice cream. They also make custom cakes with different flavors and varieties. The durian cake is a definitely a favorite for some of us. It's a delicious cake and you can really taste the durian. The sizes are a bit small but it's honestly the right amount so I don't over eat. The inside is a little small, but it's very clean and services quick so you can be in and out depending on what you order. The only issue with the area is that the parking lot is a little small and can be a little tricky to find a spot. Definitely check this place out! We'll definitely be back!

My sister got my niece's birthday cake from here (taro and black sesame) and I was hooked! I also wanted to go here, but didn't have the time or ended up getting boba instead. But I finally stopped in and walked out with a pint of black sesame ice cream ($11). The lady was nice and friendly and really knows her ice cream. They have other flavors like ube, red bean, vanilla, but I knew I had to get the black sesame. It's not too sweet (iykyk) and I eat a little bit when I'm craving ice cream. They prefer Zelle or cash when paying so try to have that with you to be safe. I'll stop by again!

So many unique Asian flavors here! Recommend you carry cash, as you will save 3% from debit or credit card transactions. They also have Zelle if you don't carry cash on hand. Some unique flavors I saw include red bean, black sesame, taro, mung bean, and durian. There was only one lady serving the ice cream that day, but she was fast to get the line moving along! I tried the mung bean and it reminded me of my time in Beijing. Pretty authentic flavors and reasonably priced. ty for reading :^)

Edison, NJ - if you're in Edison or in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, definitely drop by Sweet Dynasty for your ice cream fix! Not only is the owner Michelle super cool (her mum opened the original BK location), so is the ice cream - all homemade and with unconventional flavors such as taro, black sesame, lychee, red bean, various teas, and even durian! Along with the most popular classic favors. I seek out novel and adventurous flavors when it comes to ice cream, so am delighted to come across this shop! I forgot to take a photo of the ice cream before me and my kiddo devoured it, so here are just the flavors to drool over.

Cute ice cream parlor in kam man plaza with asian inspired flavors! I got the ube scoop while my friend got the almond cookie flavor. Ube was a tad sweet for me but otherwise good. Also sampled the mung bean flavor which i found unique and the perfect amount of sweetness. The star of this shop is the lady who owns it though, she is super chatty and friendly and creates a very personable atmosphere. There's also a bunch of restaurants in the plaza so this is a perfect afternoon dinner stop!

Tucked inside the mini mall are these succulent artisanal homemade ice cream shop with flavors I've never seen before. From Yaro to Ube, mango, seasonal almonds coffee and the best strawberry I've ever had. Service was great (they do limit the amount of flavors to try) and there's a few bench's. Loved it and I can't wait to return

Shop owner was friendly and informative. Makes their own ice cream - Asian & non-Asian flavors. Limit to 2 samples so choose wisely. I sampled black sesame and lychee and both were full of flavor. The sweetest flavors are mango, lychee and strawberry. The shop is very casual and clean. Look forward to returning soon!

"my mom buys pints of these to take home" "The flavors here are so good" I love ice cream but I also love new flavors. Had a chance to stop in with some friends and tried a double scoop of Milk tea and black sesame. Wow, so good. Creamy and flavorful but not overpowering. Both complemented each other nicely so I def recommend trying both together. Had a bite of my friends chocolate cookies and cream too.. very good and I usually prefer vanilla over chocolate. Great spot, friendly staff!

Still consistent with their flavors and their scoops. Nothing stingy at this place and I hope it doesn't change. Yesterday we were so surprised that it was filled with about 20 people in line INSIDE But the line was moving and didn't deter us to get our ice cream fix. We got all our flavors again plus the mango and holy smokes- great rich flavor, tastes like tropical creamy mango and maybe mixed with some subtle tartness from a green mango. Still great service and still a generous scoop!

Sweet Dynasty is a new-ish and cozy ice cream spot in Edison, NJ. No crazy trends or gimmicks that will be unpopular in a year or two here, just normal, delicious ice cream! I can't help but compare the flavors to that of Chinatown Ice Cream Factory in New York. They have plenty of popular Asian-inspired flavors like matcha, milk tea, thai tea, lychee, red bean, taro and more! The owners are very friendly and are locals to Central Jersey area so it always feels good to support a local small business. My personal favorite was the lychee! You don't get many spots that serve lychee ice cream so this was a real nice surprise. Would love to see a little more on the menu in the future (like milk shakes and different flavors in soft serve) and hopefully they can open up multiple choices of ice cream in one cup.

So glad this ice cream spot opened up! I was so excited to try their black sesame and milk tea ice cream! Ambiance - small place - limited seating ( benches lined the interior) - plenty of natural light Service - friendly staff! - got to try multiple flavors before placing my final order - generous scoops of ice cream Food - 2 scoops on a cup ( black sesame and milk tea) - both I creams had a pleasant creamy texture. Black sesame came in strong with sesame flavor and was slightly sweet perfect for my taste. Milk tea had a good depth in tea flavor and tasted just like a classic milk tea! I'll definitely be back for more scoops or buy a few pints to take home!

The shop is small and cozy. The owner is the sweetest! Ice cream is made in house and you can taste it. The flavors are delicious and the ice cream is so fresh & creamy. My new favorite spot!

La Bon had a form online where you can specify what you want and put pictures for inspiration. It was super easy and simple to do! I needed the cake by Sunday morning so I decided to place the order on Thursday since it was a holiday weekend and I knew they might be busy with orders. I put in a request for a 8" round cake with vanilla cake and chocolate custard filling. I submitted the request on Thursday afternoon and got a response by Thursday evening that I needed to call or come in person by Friday afternoon to officially place the order and pay. I called on Friday and spoke to Tina over the phone, she was really nice and took her time explaining the order to me and answering questions. I felt for a custom cake with this level of detail it was well worth the price which came out to about $80. I picked up my cake on Sunday with no issues and was shocked by how beautiful the cake came out. It was exactly what I wanted it to look like, the color was a perfect match to the picture I sent in and to top it all off, it was DELICIOUS! The cake was so moist and fluffy and the chocolate custard was just perfect. 1000% will be coming back here for more custom cakes- I couldn't have asked for a better experience and it was exactly what we wanted to celebrate for a 25th birthday.

It was at night on a Saturday so many of the shelves were empty but they still had a few things left. Sunmerry appears to be a chain but one that I have never visited before until now so I can't really comment on what they have, but I did manage to grab: MATCHA CLOUD DONUT - This reminded me vaguely of the im donut donuts I tried in NYC. Very soft and pillowy and filled to the brim with a lightly sweet, matcha filling. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this. RED BEAN MATCHA BAGEL - it's a matcha dough with red bean filling BUT the filling doesn't go all the way around. It goes maybe 65% so if you're splitting this with someone like I did, fingers crossed you both get a decent amount. The bagel was soft and in a bagel shape but it lacked the chew of a bagel. The filling was nice and different but the matcha taste was subtle - if that. Overall, liked the idea, but I wanted more of a bagel chew than what I got and to taste the matcha better. Maybe even have a more even share of the red bean. COFFEE BRIOCHE LOAF - my husband liked this one! Which is good because I got it for him. This is quite good. Soft, lightly sweet with a coffee top. We ate this maybe 12 hours after and much of the top layer had "melted" and gotten on the cellophane but it was still delicious. Perfection. I definitely scraped off the coffee bits from the cellophane so it didn't go to waste. PINEAPPLE BUN W/ MILK - I grabbed this one thinking there was a filling inside and there wasn't. I don't know if the bun was placed in the wrong location or the name is telling me the bun isn't vegan but it's a good pineapple bun but without anything inside, it was a tad dry. Maybe it needs a pat of butter like they do in HK. MELON PAN - I haven't had this in a good long while so I got it for fun. It's smaller than the pineapple bun and the topping is a little sweeter - I remember crunching on sugar crystals. It's not bad but also not filled so it's a tiny bit on the dry side. The place has tables to the side where you can enjoy your goodies. I didn't stay too long but they definitely serve drinks and delicious cakes as well. The staff were nice and the place seemed on the dim side. Fingers crossed I can go back during the day to get a better idea of what they have! In the meantime, this is a good place for an Asian bakery fix. They do list out ingredients under the names of their baked goods so that's awesome! From what I could see, their baked goodies are likely not vegan or gluten-free friendly, though...

Expect around six options or less at a time, including a weekly featured flavor that might just become your favorite. Here's my biggest tip: download the app before you visit. It saves time, lets you browse the flavors without standing at the kiosk, allows you to order ahead, and you'll earn points toward rewards, like a free pastry cone.
