In my efforts to save money on bubble tea since Surreal Creamery down the road increased their prices, I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the black sesame bubble tea and was windly disappointed with the tea itself. It wasn't creamy at all and tasted like VERY mildly black sesame flavored water. The place was very well kept and was also easy to navigate. It's a smaller shop, however, there were many great options to choose from. I went in wanting frozen yogurt and my expectations were well met. The store is in the heart of New Brunswick with many Rutgers kids always nearby. The parking was probably the most tedious part besides choosing from the many topping choices. I had to pay $1 to park and walk 2 blocks to get to the store. The frozen yogurt was great tasting and so were the toppings. The price was also surprisingly great. I filled my cup up all the way to the top and after weighing it, the total was $10. This froyo place was COVID friendly by providing gloves for visitors to use when handling the froyo machines and spoons for toppings! They had a good variety of flavors and a lot of toppings to choose from! I got the pineapple and mango, which did not disappoint. I got chocolate ice cream, as the salted caramel yogurt was too sweet. The chocolate flavor was subtle but creamy, and I topped it off generously with carob chips. I always love a place that has carob chips as it isn't too common of a topping. There are not a lot of flavors to choose from, but according to their online menu, the flavors are always changing and rotating. But at once, I think there are probably 8 in total to select from? There are a few tables, but there was loud music blasting, and not even radio songs, but obnoxious club like music. Not sure if this is a regular thing or the music of choice by the one guy working there. It didn't make sense because it was around 6PM, and no one else was in there, and oh yeah, it's a fro-yo/ice cream shop. Nothing exactly the club crowd. I was at this establishment a couple of hours ago and I accidentally broke my cup since the straw was not penetrating the vacuum sealed lid. Mind you, this was an accident and I apologized and even offered to help clean up, but the cashier did not take it upon himself to refresh the beverage. If he wanted me to pay for a new one because of my accident, I would've obliged. Instead of making a fresh new batch, he proceeded to take the same cloth that was used to wipe the counters and hold the broken cup and pour the contents into a new cup which he proceeded to seal. I can't even begin to explain how embarrassed I was, but as a paying customer, I would have preferred if the drink was remade and that extra payment was discussed. I unfortunately did not drink the 'leftover' tea as I was completely turned off by the lack of acknowledgment, judgment to blend a new beverage and communication. I like this place, but if you're into basic froyo flavors, you may want to steer clear. You won't find (Insert Fruit Here) flavor or (Insert Fruit Here) flavor. You come here for Mulberry or Toro or Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious flavor. They have two different sized cups, which is awesome...makes it easier for you to contain yourself, no pun intended. I dunno, was there a pun? The toppings are good and it's attached to a pizza place if you want dessert. They also have outdoor seating in the back. I took advantage of that once. They didn't bother anyone, and it's an urban area, so whatever...and no one else saw them but me and I wasn't going to make a big deal about it...again, urban area. The reason I like their froyo best is because of all the Asian flavors. Taro is my long time fave. For a limited time, they had white peach lychee which was delish and so refreshing. Please come back with your white peach lychee!! Also, there's no other froyo places that have POP as a topping! Yum. There's also outdoor seating in the front and in the back. 3.5 stars! Finally checked out this place since I was craving fro-yo. Street parking is tricky, especially when RU is in session, but if you're walking or biking, no problems there. The yogurt shop isn't anything spectacular and their toppings bar is OK. They have a few flavors of yogurt/swirl, but not as big as others. I chose taro flavor and topped it with mochi (!!!) and other stuff that caught my eye. It cost a little over $5 as they charge per weight. I'd probably be back as I like to support local New Brunswick establishments, most likely during the summer. Not sure about the bubble tea. That's what I's Cafe is for! I've got my go to spots in the good ol' Brunz but the other night I was feeling pretty sassy and got convinced to check out Truly Yogurt. Now I preface this review with the fact that I now have purchased bubble tea from this place two times in the past week--and I'm cheap (so this is a good sign.) Blown away by the taste & happy with the extensive list of flavors. I'm a true proponent for milk teas so I was all over the chocolate milk tea on my first visit. Absolutely delicious but very dangerous (I drank it too fast and shed one lonely tear when I finished it.) Second visit channeled my inner basicness and went for the vanilla tea-simple, sweet and delicious. Hidden behind an exterior of smoothies and frozen yogurt, this bubble tea place is worth the visit. You can taste the freshness of the fruits and the natural flavors without being overwhelmed by the sweetness, unlike many other fro yo places which resemble soft serve ice cream. There's some flavors that are always available such as chocolate, plain tart, vanilla, taro, and some flavors on rotation. Some options even include fat free and sugar free versions. Toppings are similar to other fro yo places, with a good distribution btwn fruits and candy. The bubble tea here is just as good, and there's a ton of flavors to choose from. I typically get the cookies and cream, taro, or white peach. Prices are reasonable, there's plenty of options to choose from, and staff is always very quick and friendly :) read more

I went here with my gf for a yummy Sunday evening treat. It was 9pm and I appreciated that they were open. I ordered a blueberry bubble tea, and she got a mango bubble tea. The first problem was the place was SUPER hot. You would think an ice creamery would at least have the air conditioning on. Strike one. The bubble tea took over 20 minutes for the server to make. There were a couple of people in front of us, but it wasn't unreasonably crowded. Waiting 20 mins for a bubble tea is crazy. Strike 2. When I finally got my tea, it was undrinkable. I gave this place three stars, which I should be clear is relative to all the players in the budding universe of froyo. You have the big chains like Red Mango and Pinkberry that started it all, whose yogurt baristas serve dense icy blends of authentically tart product that is as good as this stuff can get. Prices are high but presentation, yogurt flavors, and toppings quality are impeccable. Then there are the self-serve establishments. They usually have multiple machines on tap. The variety is a plus, and the whole self-serve scheme is kind of liberating as you can pile on whatever strikes your fancy without having to debate over pre-made combinations. You get charged by the ounce and its theoretically cheaper, but remember self-restraint, heh. Unfortunately, they usually use cheaper machines that can't match the consistency found at the big names. Fruity Yogurt falls into the latter category, with eight flavors and at 42 cents an ounce. Fruity Yogurt is average as far as self-serves go; some flavors (peach, lychee) were fairly good, some terrible (pomegranate, which tasted like a cheap raspberry), and others disappointing (the original tart, which wasn't tart enough). If you're into tart yogurty flavors you won't be so happy but those used to creamy conventional froyo or ice cream will probably like it more. There is a good selection of dry/candy toppings, and the wet/fruit toppings are decent. Mochi was a little too starchy. The best part are the yogurt 'pop bubbles', kind of like little yogurt-filled roe. Their bubble tea is decent too; they carried mini-tapioca pearls when I went which i was a big fan of. The execution overall isn't too impressive, but it's still the best froyo in the area cause it's the only froyo in the area.
