I came here with a few family and friends to try on wedding gowns. I ended up picking this place because another one of my family members got their dress here. I would say overall I was pretty underwhelmed with the customer service I got, which is really important, especially when you're spending as much as you are on a dress. I'm also basing this on the experience I had at other salons to be fair. At no point did I get a phone call prior to my appointment to get to know me better or to try to make sure the time that I spent at the salon is maximized. Also, they wouldn't allow us to take any pictures of our dresses and insisted that they're the only ones that could. They said they would send us the pictures after. I didn't want to rush to make a decision on the spot and wanted to see how I felt after the fact. Even a few days have passed, and I have yet to receive my pictures from the salon. I even called and asked for them. My wife got her Justin Alexander Signature wedding dress from Sweet Elegance Bridal in Decatur. After our wedding, I asked her for the details of how she came to choose Sweet Elegance for her dress. If you're curious, keep reading. My wife thought she didn't purchase her wedding dress the way a bride typically does. Instead of going to a store, trying on a bunch of dresses, and then choosing one, she - along with my mom and sister - first searched online to find what she wanted, then she called wedding dress shops around Atlanta to see if they carried or could get the exact dress she wanted. Originally, my wife wanted an Amsale dress, but they were out of her budget. My sister found Justin Alexander Signature dresses which were a similar style to Amsale. Among those my sister found, my wife found her dress. She fell in love with it. As mentioned above, my wife called bridal shops around Atlanta that carried the Justin Alexander Signature brand. It turned out that this store, Sweet Elegance Bridal, was the *only* store in metro Atlanta that had the right to borrow (loan) dresses from the designer, Justin Alexander Signature. In order for Sweet Elegance to borrow the exact dress my wife wanted, my wife had to put down a non-refundable $50 deposit. It was a risk she was willing to take in order to see and try on the dress in-person. She made the right choice because it turned out to be *the* dress. The dress was "Clean Off the Shoulder Gown with Floral Train" in "Laurel" style. Style number 99107 in ivory (dress color) and nude (mesh part). All the other Atlanta bridal shops that carried Justin Alexander Signature dresses in their stores could not borrow direct from the designer. Instead, they could only sell what they had in-store. At least, that's my understanding from what my wife told me. Before the staff at Bel Fiore realized they couldn't order the exact dress my wife wanted, they gave her a quote for the dress which was hundreds of dollars above the price my wife purchased the dress for from Sweet Elegance. She got it for $2,320.92. The dress came with a cape. Bel Fiore priced the dress and cape separately. Sweet Elegance priced them together as one package (in other words, the cape came as part of the dress). My wife also went to Anya Bridal in Hills Park on the west side since it was close to our home: https://www.yelp.com/biz/anya-bridal-atlanta. Anya had Justin Alexander Signature dresses in-store. They were the first shop to tell my wife that they could not order the exact dress she wanted. My wife went to Sweet Elegance four times: 1. To try on and buy the dress, with my mom assisting. 2. To pick up the dress, which had arrived 139 days later (a little over 4.5 months). 3. To return to shop for and buy a veil. 4. To pick up the veil (108 inches). When my wife returned to Sweet Elegance to look for a veil, manager Kristine helped her. Kristine was the person who rang my wife up both times, once for the dress and once for the veil. I was told Kristine is the daughter of the owner, Aimee. A different employee helped my wife when she tried on dresses. Anyway, back to the veil -- Kristine pulled up my wife's dress order and asked my wife what kind of veil she wanted/envisioned. From there, Kristine picked out a bunch of veils for my wife to try on. The shop had samples of what my wife was looking for, but they weren't exactly what she wanted. Kristine placed a special order to get my wife the exact veil she wanted, blusher and all. My wife said the staff was friendly and service was good. My wife and I think Sweet Elegance is an overlooked bridal shop. You might see the names of other shops in Atlanta more due to marketing and other reasons. Somewhat unexpectedly, Sweet Elegance fit the bill for my wife. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced wedding dress (I understand that "reasonably" is a relative term here), Sweet Elegance deserves your consideration. The fabrics are good quality, thick laces, nothing looks cheap but yet all the dresses are very affordable. The staff here is great but I highly recommend Nancy. She's the sweetest, most helpful, definitely patient, consultant. She listened to all my needs and wants, and picked me out my winner dress after really listening to what I wanted and paying attention to my styles chosen. I said Yes to the Dress at Sweet Elegance Bridal! Let me tell you why..... They were my 3rd boutique in my search for The One. I currently live in MD and was visiting my maid of honor for and end of summer getaway. Upon entering I was greeted by warm smiles and led into a large open area where dresses of all styles were lining the walls.Some people prefer to have a completely private experience and if that's you than Sweet Elegance may not be for you. I had previously experienced completely and partial privacy fittings so I was open to their layout, which is a huge space with numerous seating areas for different parties. Yes I overheard other brides convos with their friends/family, yes I saw other brides "reveal" but the customer service I experienced and the selection SEB provided far outweighed having my own private space for just me and my family & friends. I lucked up and got Yolanda as my personal stylist and I can not express how awesome she was!! We shared things about our lives and she really took the time to get to know me and have a clear idea of the look I was going for. I honestly feel like it was fate that we crossed paths and I had a gut feeling that she would put me in MY DREAM DRESS. Unlike some brides who have saved all their lives for their wedding or have a wealthy family to foot the bill, I was on. budget and even though I was willing to exceed it for the right dress, Yolanda assured me that we did not need to break the bank for me to execute the vision in my head. I tried on several dresses, veils and accent pieces and by the end of my fitting I was pretty confident I found my dress but since I had one more appointment the following day at a nearby boutique I didn't decide that same day. After going to the other appointment, being dissatisfied with the inventory and constantly comparing those dresses to one I found at SEB I returned 2 days later and said yes to the dress! The attendant that helped with finding wedding dresses was super helpful. Everyone in our group was offered a glass of champagne. I opted for a bottled water. None of us liked the no-pictures policy at all. That was frustrating to work around because we had a hard time trying to remember which dress fit better and which styles were more flattering than others. It just wasn't practical for a bunch of bridesmaids that were intent on narrowing down a style and a dress without having to try everything on each time. Overall, it was a great experience, besides the one complaint. I'd recommend giving this place a shot, but be warned that it can take up to 8-9 months to get a dress in. I highly recommend Sweet Elegance for wedding dress shopping. My first experience at another store was very unpleasant and dissatisfying, so I was nervous on how this was going to go. However, Sweet Elegance was extremely welcoming as soon as you step foot in the store and was super quick in getting you settled into the store. Between the owner Kristine calling my bridesmaid dresses "awful" (after I swiped my card for the gown) , literally never giving me a second to breath and think alone, the no photo policy, badgering my friends about Champaign, becoming even more abrasive after I mentioned FaceTiming my mom who lives over 600 miles away and could not join me, and simply the extremely overbearing and suffocating experience; it was not a pleasant experience unfortunately. With that... I did ultimately purchase a dress here, however in hindsight I realize I made a rash decision based on the environment. If I'm spending over 2k at your store, I should be able to have photos to look back to. My sister was visiting from out of state and took photos and everytime they kept coming over to chastise her. They also stay in the fitting room while you change which I felt was invasive. But since it was my first store I thought it was customary. After going to 2 other stores, I realized it wasn't and wished I would've asked for some privacy. Writing as a visiting bridesmaid. Our party came for our appointment and were polite and clear with the types of styles the bride was looking for. We asked if we could take notes and mark each dress by designer and our stylist immediately shot it down with a firm no. Weird and an outdated take on a bridal world where the internet very much exists and denying it is an interesting choice. Photos are not allowed - reasonable. Hiding the brand of a dress, a major investment of the bride, is suspect. I asked how the dresses were organized and was told "Dont touch anything, it really drives me nuts. (laugh)." She then elaborates that we will be able to choose styles later but in general her customer bedside manner really drove us nuts... haHAHA. Our bride was put into several dresses in the exact styles she had asked to avoid. When we clearly re-stated the style she was looking for, after trial fittings for half an hour, they then said "we don't carry many of those." They tried to avoid showing her pricetags despite her asking several times - especially for a dress that we'd picked for her not knowing it was out of the budget our bride had clearly set at the beginning of the appointment. She felt like she was not given privacy - bridal gown fitting is an intimate and intense experience. When someone seems shy, it's likely that sending one person in is a better response than sending in six. Also following her around the store so she feels she can't confide in her family is a weird thing to do. Another red flag to me is that they do not offer a range of sizes. Things marked as a 10 or a 12 fit like a 4. The bride felt physically uncomfortable in everything with straps digging in and her ribs and hips compressed. Do not force your customers into articles of clothing that do not fit appropriately. We previously went to a boutique where they clipped her into gowns and took out excess, which is a more versatile and also less dumb way to provide sizing for a wide array of bodies. At one point I asked if there was a different fitting style we could try to help her visualize a comfortable fit. The stylist looked blankly at me and said "Well other people have bought dresses with no problem." I stared at her. "I mean that other people could visualize it" Lady what I was trying to say is that your customer is really hating her experience with you. Her family and friends really regret not pulling her out of your tone-deaf salon earlier. And her bridesmaid is going to write a Yelp review telling as many brides as possible to take their money and enthusiasm elsewhere. read more

I accompanied the bride as her MOH for her appointment this past weekend. The appointment felt very cold. No attention was given to the bride. It felt as if they were mesmerized with everyone else's appointment and not hers. She was not happy. Dresses kept being pulled that were not options she asked for. It appeared they were more comfortable fitting brides of a certain stature. If you are super petite and short this may not be the place for you. If you are tall and slender this is a go to. Unfortunately, the bride didn't feel as welcomed and was frustrated. We ended the appointment and got one with another bridal store the same day, and she finally said YES TO THE DRESS! After hearing a friend of a friend speak so highly of this shop, I decided to make an appointment the very next day. Even the first phone call canes my nerves as the young lady I spoke was super helpful with getting me in for an appointment. So I didn't know what to expect from my first brida appointment but I figured it was somewhere along the lines of how all the episodes of "Say Yes to the Dress" go. On the way there I ran into traffic but I made sure to call and let them know and they didn't have an issue with me being 10 mins late because I just knew they were gonna cancel my appointment. I arrived and was instantly greeted by my consultant and she just made me feel so comfortable and explained exactly how the appointment would go. We talked a bit in the area where they have all bridal party dresses and she got to know a bit about my style and what kind of dress I liked then we moved right into the actual area with alllllll the beautiful wedding gowns and I fell in love even more with the shop. They have such a wide selection and the prices are super reasonable. My consultant brought me 5 gowns because I was pretty much willing to try on anything and she did a really good job helping me see what styles looked best for my figure. The fact that there was only one other bride in the shop made me feel very good and I could tell that the shop wasn't just about getting as many people on a daily basis and my consultant was very focused on making sure I had a great first experience. She was able to give me info on pricing and payments but I didn't feel pressured to get a form right then and there. Sweet Elegance bridal is the only bridal boutique I would ever recommend. They have all of the same designer dresses as the other places and more but at much lower prices. The experience is amazing too. You have an appointment, they bring you back to the salon and you get a large fitting room. They have everything you need: bustiers, padding, accessories, etc to make your dress fitting perfect, extremely efficient. The staff are all super sweet and the owner, well she understands you. Her daughter got married and she was so frustrated with the dress shopping experience that she decided to open her own shop. Let's move along. Basically, the young lady helping me asked me what I like, what I was looking for and if I had any pictures, etc. I showed her what I had collected on my phone. She came back with a dress. It was beautiful but not exactly what I loved. The second dress she came in there with was the most beautiful dress I'd seen. The picts do it no justice. It is a two-piece. The first part of the dress is a thigh length cocktail dress with lace and shimmer throughout. Absolutely gorgeous on its own. Then she has this champagne colored ball gown skirt with a beautiful blinged out band astound the top. I tried it on and I was done. Ordered it and it took 6 months to come in because it's custom made. Best part, I thought I was going to have to spend $5k on a dress. This was a little over $2k and it looked like a $20k dress. Trust me, I watched "Say Yes to The Dress" for months And my dress was much nicer than a lot of the dresses people were paying 15 and $20,000 for. Finally, the fitting was perfect and the owner fitted me with all these accessories. He knew exactly what accessories would look great with that dress and she even gave me advice on how to wear my hair with the veil. read more

The no photos policy is lame AF and not ideal at all for such a joyous occasion. Their attempt to help with that policy is they take pictures on the store phone and will send, it's been 3 days and I have yet to receive them. The rule further goes into if you have a second appointment with the you're allowed to FaceTime, which they were quick to profess after we called someone after another bride in the studio did. This was only my second experience going wedding dress shopping and after my first experience elsewhere I was sure wedding dress shopping is only extremely awkward and unpleasant. Megan changed all that! She listened to what I liked and I showed her a few pictures I had. She brought dresses that were better than I could imagine! Sweet elegance has a great range of dresses to choose from whether you want bling/ball gowns/lace/modern. Also I really liked that their sizes to try on are smaller and not all larger sizes as I am a petite person, so it is hard with a larger size even with clips to imagine a dress. The whole staff there was very pleasant and super helpful and it seemed genuine they are very easy to get along with. Christine is my MVP. So my mother is handicap and needed a little assistance and she just made sure the whole time that she was taken care of while taking care of me. I made a last-minute appointment and Nancy was super accommodating and set my party up nicely in the bridal room. We were immediately served water and champagne. My stylist, Abby, was amazing! She sat me down and asked me about my wedding and what style I was interested in. She pulled dresses first and then told my party we could walk around after I tried some of her picks on. But, this was not necessary because Abby found my dress on her 2nd try! It was perfect for my figure and better than anything I had tried on before (this was my 3rd bridal boutique). It had notes from my style and some that were not what I had picked, but fit me perfectly! Abby was super helpful in the fitting room and asked me a lot of questions on the feel and comfort of the dresses. She helped me pick out a belt to go with my dress and let me try on several different veils. She was not pushy at all and always made sure we were having a great time! After saying YTTD Abby and Nancy let us sit for a while and celebrate with champagne. (2) They have many wonderful options and colors.(3) I wanted a red dress, and when I showed up to the appointment, they had red dresses displayed in the front of the store. (4) I ended up picking the second dress I tried on. It was in brown but they showed me the sample of what the red would look like. (5) They had great accessories that I would have gotten if they weren't so pricey. (6) I told them my price range, and she made sure to show me only the dresses I could afford. (7) I actually hate strapless things, and they happened to have a strapless dress that screamed my name. Negative Feedback: (1) They were so eager to make me feel comfortable, that I can see why other people would become uncomfortable. (2) They forgot to give me the breast pads for my dress and I had to go back and get them (I don't live close to this location). (3) I do not remember being notified about the pads needing to be sowed into my corset, so my sister ended up sowing them by hand a few days before the wedding (close call). (4) The tailoring specialists they suggested were extremely pricey. When I told them it was a banquet dress, they dropped the price by 3/4! Just started my search for wedding dresses, and Sweet Elegance Bridal was my first appointment. Leah K helped me during my appointment, and she was so extremely helpful and gracious. She really listened to my preferences, and every dress I tried on was better than the last. The appointment started with 5 gowns Leah picked out, then I had the chance to look through the dresses myself, and I ended with trying on some dresses I personally picked out. Thank you to Leah K. for being such an amazing and patient guide! Sweet Elegance is located near Emory, with plenty of parking in front. The front of their store has non-bridal dresses and accessories (which I didn't have a chance to browse unfortunately), and their wedding gowns are in adjacent, larger room. I can't compare SE to other bridal shops yet, but I'd say their selection has a good range, from blingy/jeweled to lacey/elegant to minimalist/modern. I live in Dallas Texas and I purchased my gown and veil from Sweet Elegance Bridal in Atlanta.My dress and veil had to be ordered so my parents had to pick them up and transport them to Dallas Texas. My parents were not told to inspect the veil, so they only inspected the dress which was beautiful. I did not unwrap my veil until a few days before the wedding because I didn't want it to be wrinkled and also I lived with my fiancé so I wanted everything to be a surprise for the wedding day. On my last fitting a few days before the wedding, I discovered the veil I received was not the veil I ordered. I had to purchase another veil in Dallas because it would have taken several weeks to get the veil I originally purchased . We were dealing with a lot that week and didn't call the store immediately because we thought we could just get our money returned later. Our wedding was in Austin so were on a time crunch. My mom called the store, and Instead of refunding my money they offered me a store credit. My mom has gone round and round with them on the phone. Instead of being gracious about their mistake,they want to argue with her. Sometimes when you own a business it is called "Good Will" to treat your clients with grace. I would be very careful dealing with this store. If something is wrong they will not stand behind their customers. It is all about them losing money, not making things right for you. Today I said YES TO MY DRESS at Sweet Elegance Bridal!!! The store it's self is beautiful!! But let me tell you the customer service is even more beautiful!! The hospitality is top tier!! Nice champagne and refreshing water was served!! And nothing but positive attitudes!! But let's talk about this one consultant in particular! MY ALYSSA!!!!!! from the first phone call with Alyssa I knew she was a total vibe!! Then my first bridal appointment with her was as amazing!! The very first dress she chose for me was a hard hitter!! Like she knew me already!! And after that appointment we continued communication about my yes dress until today when I had my 2nd appointment with her, and we were so excited to see each other again!! Today with her help I was able to say yes AGAIN!! She made me feel like I was the most beautiful bride she'd seen!! I give Sweet Elegance bridal a 10/10 recommend! If you have family that can't attend your appointment with you like me (mom in PA, sister in TX) this probably isn't a good place for you to shop. They don't allow pictures... never heard of this. They expected me to pick a dress all by myself, without input from my family. I was heartbroken, left in tears. Told me I could face time them, yeah FaceTime my 70 yr old mom who doesn't even have a smartphone or know how to use a computer. They tried to save face by telling me I could take one picture of my favorite dress... which doesn't help me with wanting my mom and sister to help me pick one. Completely ridiculous and uncaring... I don't care what their reasons are it completely ruined my day and dress shopping experience. Beautiful shop though with gorgeous looking dresses that I never even got to try on. read more

I visited the Decatur store today and it was actually my first appointment ever! I'm from Spain and my dream was to wear a Spanish designer which not everybody has available at the boutiques. Jaleesia made us feel like home! Based on what I was looking for she offered us to take us to their new location in Brookhaven which wasn't even open yet!!! We drove there and OMG!!!! She showed me a ton of Spaniard designer wedding dresses and we found the one!!! We also had the opportunity of meeting Aimée, what a sweet lady she is!!!! We loved her energy and her personality!! I felt super special, the fact that they allowed us to shop in their new store before the grand opening was AMAZING!!! Thank you Jaleesia and Aimée for making this day so special!! So between my sister breaking the rules and bringing too many people to my first fitting, my indecisiveness causing me to try on a gazillion dresses, and my endless phone calls to find out if items are in stock or schedule my various appointments, Sweet Elegance Bridal has the best, most patient and accomodating, staff. Specifically, Leah and Christine, have been a great pleasure to harass with my incessant requests during this time. They have GREAT selections of dresses to choose from and they are very attentive. Staff members walk around like family helping your stylist, which just makes things go way smoother. This was my first shop and I picked it because it is a smaller local business. I do believe they even offer a military discount, they have a waiting list if they are all booked up--as they get very quickly--and they will text you with a reminder for your appointment. I honestly left my first visit, though overwhelmed and completely undecided, like I could trust my stylist, confide in her in the dressing room as she helped me get dressed (and she saw me half naked), and rely on her to see my vision or help me develop my vision. I was there a couple weeks ago with my sister while she was looking for her wedding dress and it was the best hunting experience I witnessed. Nancy took great care of us. It was completely organized and unlike other places, they don't keep mirrors in the changing room in order to keep it a surprise for the bride when she comes out to the big mirror for the reveal. read more

Nancy was the absolutely best! She made me feel so comfortable and really took her time with me... making me feel like I was the only person in the store. I thought I found my dream dress but after talking to me she pushed me outside my comfort zone to try a dress I never would've picked. I'M SO GLAD SHE DID! Nancy was amazing! She took so much time with my sister and paid such attention to detail to her requests. She listened to every detail in what she wanted in her dress as well as was so considerate of our budget. Sweet elegance was a beautiful setting to try on dresses and offered all 3 of us drinks.
