My first experience to the Ohana Hale Marketplace brought me to Sweet Enemy Clothing's stall and it was my best experiences as a fellow small business owner. I was the only one looking around the stall and owner, Drew, took the time to tell me about the meaning behind the brand and to give me little pointers for my own while he was setting up for the day. Not only was the meaning very touching and inspiring, but it also opened my eyes more to what supporting local means and how it not only helps the business but also our home as a whole. I bought a shirt and a tank for my gf and wasn't prepared for how they personally wrap each purchase, like a bouquet of flowers The quality and the designs that go into the brand is amazing along with the brand itself. If you get a chance to check him out, do it!

The clothing has meaning behind it as well as being stylish. Drew is truly innovative with coming up with new designs and growing his business. I believe in and support local small business. I would recommend that people visit, purchase, and support SweetEnemy.

Dropped by Sweet Enemy today just to browse after being recommended by a friend. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was for me! The shirts are exactly what I normally go thrifting for and the prices aren't insanely high like most vintage stores. I copped two shirts for the low and ended up scoring a Stussy hoodie, for the wifey, for free! The employee was super respectful and cordial. He's even the one who allowed me to take a shot on their mini basketball hoop to get the hoodie for free. Who would've known I would it make it on the first try (I knew)! All in all, they just gained a new loyal customer and I'll definitely be back! read more

Go checkout this store if you like unique tees and shirts. Drew the owner is a friendly local and gave his recommendation on good surf spots and can answer any questions. I am a 3XL and could not find my size but still enjoyed browsing and chatting. I will check back in the future for my size. read more

Walked into Sweet Enemy earlier this month while on my vacation. They had a great selection of vintage 90s, early 2000s shirts and crew necks as well as unique coats and outwear. I left with a vintage Harley Hawaii crew neck that was acid washed at the bottom. I could also tell the clothes were properly cared for and washed before being put on the rack which I know could be a concern for people post-covid. If you're looking for a unique souvenir for yourself or thoughtful gift for your friends or loved ones, this is a great place to check out. This place is THE place to shop for their branded items & thrifted tees. The owner Drew is so personable and friendly and really makes an effort to get to know every single one of his customers. Something that makes the experience special is the IG story post of you & your new items (if you allow) on the brand's Instagram! The shop is always clean and follows the new covid guidelines. The quality of the Sweet Enemy clothes & hats are amazing and they're always coming out with new designs. There are designs that hold a deeper meaning to them or he has simple logo tees as well. I love the variety this place has to offer. All in all, Sweet Enemy is one of my favorite local street wear brand in Hawaii and every experience is a great one. Great shop if you're into thrift shirts & cool original street wear. Personally I'm a fan of thrifting and i always find gold here, oversized vintage-based tees are my fave. But i also love that the store also has a street wear brand that's constantly being updated, just like the vintage stuff, so there's always something new when i visit. I've been to a lot of other thrift shops and the pricing is just absurd. Sweet enemy has a wide range of pricing so there's something for everyone. Other then the great clothes and quality, the interior design is unique and makes for a great Instagram photo! Cool, super chill owner too!! read more

I got to visit Sweet Enemy's new spot on King Street and I fell in love with the vibe of the store. It has this cute florist-inspired look with shirts rolled up like roses and displayed in "fridges". I always appreciate when stores get creative like that! As for the shopping experience, I was able to find some good quality vintage clothes, which I'm such a sucker for. Established in 2013.

Sweet Enemy Clothing was founded in honor of my grandma named Rose. The name Sweet Enemy visually and metaphorically explains her name and the impact of her loss on my life. The rose flower is simply beautiful and iconic for love and the thorns; shows the enemy, the pain and the hurt that we all go through when we lose someone special in our lives. The slogan "Never Forget The Reason" exemplifies the true meaning of what inspires us to do the positive things in our lives. This brand brings honor to all of our loved ones who is not here with us today. "The World's Sweetest Garden" focuses on the vision of this store. The main concept of Sweet Enemy represents the floral/garden boutique.

On a lark I decided to go full island and buy myself a Panama hat. It kinda sets you apart, even…read morehere in Hawaii. You can wear these with a snazzy business or leisure suit, or island shirt and shorts, clubbing or shopping it looks great either way. I was fortunate enough to wander into this lovely little store full of nothing but... Panama hats! Plus some feathers, a few handbags and accessories, but mostly hats, hats, and more hats. Plus a couple lovely and personable assistants, Amy and Ray, both knowledgeable and helpful suggesting which ones looked good on me, and the subtle differences between one style and another. Who knew there were so many different styles of Panama hat? The store is arranged horizontally kind of like a fancy bar is vertically. Nothing is inexpensive here, the hundreds of hats on display start at about $200 near the entrance and reach $600 to $900 by the back of the store. They're all handmade in the same way, but the more expensive ones have a tighter and more even weave, more intricate weave patterns and designs, maybe a more refined shape. Plus there's a small glass case with the Louis Tres and Hennessy Paradis of hats, like the alcohol those hats are $1,000 and up. Unlike those big luxury brands these are the real deal, all handmade in Ecuador (where Panama hats are made) by a network of artisan craftspeople, seemingly related to a small company named Truffaux that has similar shops in Australia. You're in luxury territory the moment you step in but they don't cater to the ultra high end collector and antique hats that can go for many thousands of dollars. So it's hats for millionaires not billionaires, or just people who want a hat they can treasure. I splurged for a Montecristo hat, one of the nicest, and it makes me feel like a million to wear it and read up on all about the history, lore, and origin of these hats.

First thing I walked in to see a display table filled with various hot items and of course it was all about the Dodgers of various item but I liked the fun and cute shirt of Ohtani with his name in kanji is cool but as I browsed around I noticed as tiny collegiate section and the Oregon Ducks will always be a special place in my heart though wished they had more selections. First, no greeting when I walked in and the music she was playing on the boombox was very loud. As I looked at the 49rs hats I asked her kindly which was the newest model and she points at one that I know is an old style and said "this one." Then she continues to work on the sewing machine. As I made my decision I told her politely I was ready to be rung up. No response and she continued threading the sewing machine. She finally comes over to the register with an attitude so I asked her what did I do wrong to make her treat me the way she did as a customer: She lashed out at me and said I'm the one with the attitude and said she doesn't want to sell me the two hats I had decided to buy. She then told me to get out of the store. I asked to speak to the store manager and she rudely said she was the store manager. With her attitude I didn't believe she was the manager so I went to the back store room door and knocked hoping a store manager or another employee would come out. Unfortunately she was the only one in the store at the time. After much thought I assumed she was having a bad day or I caught her at the worst possible time of the day for her. I walked up to her and apologized and asked if we could start all over and asked her to wring up my merchandise. She refused twice but finally after much thought she did. I later went to the Lids Locker Room where I always receive excellent customer service from the entire staff. I told them about my experience upstairs and they were very apologetic. They told me the woman who I was talking about was the assistant manager and not the store manager. They even asked what can they do to make things right. Now this is what you call customer service! I also shop at Lids mall level. The manager there has been there for many years and is always friendly and helpful. Had I shopped at Lids mall level or Lids Locker Room from the beginning I wouldn't have experienced this bad service.

My co-worker says this place is like the Lululemon for outdoors. Sounds about right. Overall, this store was really nice, cool, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Located in the Nimitz Center it's easy to find them as you're zipping along Nimitz here they have shirts for women, men's and kids along with fun accessories and stickers. Today this cute pinkish shirt with flowers scattered on the logo have it a nice spring vibe and knew this was the one. The vibe here is much more mellow than the one up north but they still have it all and we are so blessed to have such wonderful brand to express our love along with the island life we live in. Before our trip here, was somewhat familiar with the brand Lucy Love (similar to Roxy but less popular and priced a little higher too). There were a couple things that were really cute from the Lucy Love brand; dresses were about $50, tanks were about $40 (so a little higher than the beach brands). I also saw cute Honolua dresses too, priced at around $40. My husband saw a couple things (a hat, an aloha shirt) that he liked as well. Cute stuff. Better selection than T & C (sparse). It's a rectangle shaped store, that carries mens and womens clothing, along with some footwear. Seems to appeal to shoppers in the area, since the location is in the heart of Waikiki. There were several other customers besides us. The sales people are very nice and greet you right away with a smile- she also told us about the sale. Nice setup- lots of merchandise but it didn't feel cramped though. I still miss the Aloha Tower store because that's where their extreme markdowns ended up (slight damage, but an easy fix for me, since I am handy/crafty like that).

Reason being I have to agree that I think the prices have gone up due to shrinkflation/ inflation as someone else said. I guess one of the main reasons I really liked this place was that many of their items (I would say 90 percent) were made in Japan (not China as I would originally suspect) and reasonable priced still. I checked many of their items to see where the items were made this time. I would say 50 percent or more of the items are now from China... I don't want to go to a store that is marketed as Japanese and from Japan but is selling items from China - especially food items from China since their quality control and ethics is questionable. To be clear, the main items I looked at this time, were the Sanrio and the food sections. Last time, I looked at wider variety of items. They do still have an excellent selection of freshly prepared bento boxes and side dishes but they also have gone up in price I believe. We did still buy some bento as well as some mochi because we liked them as well as it is still more reasonably priced than going out to eat in Honolulu. I did notice this time, that there also seems to be more of a thieving problem this time. Saw many items opened, eaten and then placed back on shelf empty (not even sure why they even bothered putting it back). Seems like they need to step up security. One last note is that there may be different owners of this store and pearl city's store as they seem to have some differences in pricing. I do like this store better because it is larger, 24 hours, used to carry mostly items from Japan and they weren't selling expired items. The Pearl city location was selling many expired items in 2024 and old/ dingy at that time. However they seemed to have upgraded/ renovated their store currently (see review for Pearl city).

Koolau Farmers is a locally owned/operated nursery and garden supply business that are home…read moregardening experts. It was started in 1938 by East Oahu farmers and a Kailua papaya cooperative as a farmer-founded business entity that shifted from farming to home gardening. Today, it supplies plants, floral arrangements, fertilizers, pesticides, garden tools, etc. for home gardeners. There are currently two locations for Koolau Farmers: Kaneohe and Honolulu (McCully). This review is for the Honolulu location. Items that the McCully location carry include: bromeliads, flowers, fruit, orchids, palms, fruit trees, peppers, tropical fruits, shrubs, soil, trees, veggies, hono hono orchids, dwarf fruit trees (Meyer lemon, Tahitian limes, Naval oranges, jabong, grafted mango, avocado). It also offers seed starting supplies, fertilizers for plants and flowers, worm composting bins; and info re growing and care of indoor potted plants, organic gardening, soil testing, and proper lighting. What brought us to Koolau Farmers is my lilikoi vine that I've had in my back yard for a number of years. With the help of bees, the vine had flourished and produced many delicious fruits for homemade lilikoi desserts, such as lilikoi chiffon pie, lilikoi curd, lilikoi bars, and more. But in recent years, the flowers would bloom, but because there are no bees to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, no fruits are produced. Questions to Koolau Farmers confirmed that there is a lack of nesting sites for carpenter bees (I think they're known as the black bumblebees that we no longer see) to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, resulting in a lack of fruit. According to Koolau Farmers, the flowers must be hand-pollinated instead. Staff provided instructions to my hubby on how to hand-pollinate the beautiful lilikoi flowers. A work in progress, and I'm sure more questions to follow. Then the next project will be our dwarf local orange tree. Where is the fruit? There's a single tiny orange on it, yes, only one! Hope Koolau Farmers can help us on this one! Another work in progress. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and provides helpful guidance. An unlikely spot in urban Honolulu to have a nursery and garden supply store, but I'm glad that it's there! The interior space is not that big, but houses boxes of fertilizers and various home gardening equipment for home gardeners. There may be displays of seasonal items on how to grow certain plants, such as hono hono orchids. Open daily from 8a to 5p. Free parking in the private lot. On the outside private lot are scattered variety of healthy local plants, herbs, orchids, and fruit trees. We look forward in working with Koolau Farmers and knowing that they are there to help us with our home gardening needs!

McCully Branch These…read moreare the things that I noticed that could be help improve service and accommodating vehicles: 1) Workers are not very attentive when I was waiting to check out at the Cashier. 2) lots of space inside of store for plants and non-plant items (e.g. Pots, trays, posts, Soil "to make room in parking area", etc. 3) make room for parking, move tractor out from front exit. Maybe move forklift next to wall close to where soil is now and the current parking stall. 4) Where the current location of the Plastic Pots and other items are, it can be used to house other supplies, or small potted plants. 5) Remove table that is in front in parking. 6) Remove plants along NORTH wall and Herbs along the WEST wall in the parking area. It is good to have a lot of options in plants and etc. As a suggestion, it is also good to have Customers come "into" the store than to have them hang out in the parking area. Pedestrian safety is also a concern. I had to watch for pedestrians as I was parking and backing up when leaving the store parking area. This is "Safety" issue for your store. Koolau didn't have anyone outside monitoring the parking lot. There was a lot of traffic and it was hard to maneuver a vehicle in such a congested and small space. Happened to find this place randomly when we were exploring the area on vacation. This place has some of the best vintage selection I've ever seen. The staff is so nice and very accommodating. My favorite part was the vintage jerseys, the selection here alone was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody visiting the island.
