And quite possibly the best hat store in all of Honolulu! While on a staycation in Waikiki we stumbled upon Chapel Hats which is located in the Sheraton Waikiki. We were going to spend our day at the pool and I of course know that the longevity of my youth is directly equated to proper sun protection at all times. I tried on all kinds of hats and eventually decided on a simple yet elegant sun hat. It was gigantic and I loved it at first fit! My fiance went with a creme colored fedora, but it wasn't just any fitted wonder. It had a bottle opener attached to it! McGuyver would be proud for sure. The woman working the shop was really friendly and helped us find different sizes. I was actually surprised by the prices because for touristy Waikiki they weren't bad at all. Both our hats were around the 30ish range and my guess is that we'll be taking them with us on future fun in the sun adventures! read more

This place is about hats, no accessories - unless it's related to hats - just hats! This place has hats. Small store with hats literally from floor to ceiling. Fun to serious and everything in between. There's a few hats that look like refugees from an old Elton John or Village People concert. I'm looking for a cap with just the Hawaiian islands in the front. No islands with HI, Hawaii, or Aloha. No luck - then we came to Chapel Hats. We've done biz with a store in FL and they had a big selection. Aha, there it is! Exactly what I'm looking for. Easy purchase, the lone salesperson removed the tags & stickers for me. When in Honolulu, HI. Surrounded by tourists and high dollar shops, I found it a pleasant surprise to find this place in one of the malls there. I was looking for a nice hat and these guys had it all. In a world where I seen some Panama Hats going for $700-$5000. Chapel was able to give me exactly what I was looking for at $99. Considered a bargain. The clerk was nice and quit e helpful. read more

Attentive, courteous, not pushy... offered his assistance and even went above and beyond in offering suggestions as far as a cool beach to visit knowing we were tourists. Purchased a super cool hat that had a minor issue (sticker left some goo on it) he went out of his way to clean it and try to remove the stickiness on it. I'm not exactly sure what would qualify a hat store for five stars but this was a good store. We actually left with several hats. I thought the ladies hats were very reasonable. One of my friends bought a very fancy looking ladies hat for $79. I got a baseball cap and one of my buddies got a couple of fishing type hats for $29 Quaint little store. Reasonable prices. I bought a cute little hat here for 40 bucks, then realized it didn't fit me particularly well. About an hour after buying I realized it did not fit my huge head and I went back here to make a return, but they offered to stretch the hat out for my head. It fit, and I was really happy to have a well fitting hat! Staff here are very nice and attentive, giving recommendations on size and style. I will come back here again if I ever need a hat when going back to Honolulu! read more

This place is hat heaven. Little hats, big hats, straw hats, Seussical hats, wool hats, caps, beanies, you name it! If it can go on your head, it's probably here! I've always thought Hawaii lacked millinery shops -- most other major cities have hat shops all over the place, so Chapel is a breath of fresh air. It is located at the end of Waikiki on Kalakaua at the corner of the International market place block. Hats are one of those accessories that are functional (most of the time) to shade your face or hide your bald spot and can also give your outfit that finished look. I absolutely LOVE hats and have a growing collection, so coming here is like a toy shop. Chapel has some very high quality high priced pieces and some mid range ones as well. You can find something here for any head. I got a beautiful new straw hat with a ribbon bow for 30 bucks, but I foresee years of use. A bit pricey, but within the average range for decent hats. What a scam store! They have a lot of hip cool looking people on the posters donning handlebar mustaches and clothes like the cool kids wear and you walk in saying to yourself wow a real hat shop. But you soon realize this is nothing more than the hat section at Pacsun at the mall multiplied by 10. All the hats are cheap quality and prices range from $30-55. I walked in in the market for a fedora to catch my eye and they had nothing. This shop is for the first time uninformed hat buyer or if your desperate and need a hat for the sun. I walked over to the Panama hat section with some hope and the employee proceed to tell me how these were all grade 10 (which they were not) and how the ones at the top were a grade 30 and that's why they were stiff. Clearly they are just hiring cheap mall kids and not people that are passionate about hats. Skip this place unless you just need a cheap hat. read more
