Fizzing candy, Reese's everything, chocolate covered pretzels, Hersheys kisses and hugs, Pop tarts, and anything else that is guaranteed to make your teeth hurt. As well as the pre-packaged stuff, they also have about 148 boxes of various sweets that you can mix n match, stick in a bottle, and chose your very own special label for. The price range from €3 for 100ml to €9 for 500ml. (Choose the size at your peril...!) As if this wasn't enough to ensure a trip to Dr Molar, you may also gorge further on milkshakes, ice cream floats and sundaes. And round it off with a nice cold carbonated drink, sure ye may as well. When we got here, the friend who wanted the pretzels was out-shined in her giddiness by the rapturous exuberance of our other friend and me. When we saw all the American goods (Reese's, Hersheys, pancake mix, cake mix, peanut butter) we basically had a fit and went wild buying everything (okay, only I did). Overall, I'd recommend any American stop by this place for some staple American ingredients and a bit of nostalgia. They basically have any candy you remember from childhood plus the comfort foods mom always made. The staff person behind the counter was very chatty and friendly, asking me where I was from, but I may have been the rude one since I just wanted my stuff and didn't want to talk. The one downside, which is expected, is the price. I spent about 30 euros on 4 boxes of mac n' cheese and a couple bags of chocolate, but since it's imported it makes sense.

When I stopped in the shop was kitted out for Christmas shoppers with gift baskets, gluten free puddings and heaped baskets of brightly coloured beans, jellies and lolly pops. Too loaded down from the day's shop to contemplate carrying home anything more, I skipped the all natural biscuit selections and dried fruit medleys, knowing I'd be back in the new year (after all, if it's sugar free my resolution stays intact!).

On my solo Birthday adventure through Ireland, I was in a need of a serious manicure. Well, how does my nails being chipped and looking for a place to get a manicure have to do with Butler's Chocolates.. I promise there is a connection. While getting my manicure I struck up a conversation with a lovely woman from Dublin. I asked her if she could suggest a good coffee place and she asked if I like chocolate with coffee? Was this an earth angel before me? Anyone that knows me knows that I am obsessed with chocolate. So much so that I eat a box to myself. That is another story. When I heard her words instantly I said yes, and she recommended I head to Butlers chocolate and not only try their chocolates but that I had to have their hot coco. I saved the name in my brain and couldn't wait to have the manicurist finish my nails so I could be on my way. After some time, I found myself out the door and bee lining my way to find this place. Turns out there in multiple locations in Dublin but the one closest to where I was, was literally around the corner. As I walked in I could see the place was packed with people. The chocolates were all on display and looked delicious as well as drink orders being sent out. I ordered a hot coco and grabbed a couple of caramel crunch bars and with every drink order you get a free chocolate, so I decided to get a dark chocolate. I was lucky to find a bar stool seat and waited patiently for my hot coco. When it arrived let me tell you. The deliciousness that was in that cup from the chocolate shavings on top to the perfect froth and flavor. Divine and heaven in a cup. I sat there and savored every drop it was so delicious. If you are in Dublin this place is a must stop for all your chocolate needs. You will not be disappointed... The only disappointment I have is that there are no Butler chocolates locations in the US, for not Ill have to make Dublin a place to visit often to enjoy the yummy treats of Butler's Chocolate!

I was greeted with a a friendly hello, was able to get an ice mocha and to my surprise a free piece of chocolate with my drink! That is what set it over the top for me! I got the dark chocolate salted caramel which was a nice treat a little later in the day!
