I called the Inn to let them know and they were more than understanding, saying that their restaurant would still be open by the time of our arrival and that they would have a glass of wine waiting for us upon our arrival. We did not arrive until 10:00 PM and received a warm greeting and as promised, the bartender was ready to pour us a glass of wine. We were able to sip it on the lovely outdoor eating area and fall asleep on the most comfortable bedding. Seriously, the beds here are magic. Rooms are very small and do not have A/C. Simply opening the window will suffice to bring in some cool air. Each wing has a communal bathroom. Bathrooms have all amenities needed moreover; each room has a cute bag of travel toiletries per bed. The building itself is both charming and formidable. While I see its potential, it is lacking in some upkeep and restoration. This the only downside. Something to note, there is a train that passes quite frequently and can be heard during all hours. This did not phase me in the slightest because of the wine. My favorite part by far was breathing in the fresh air and exploring the grounds in the early morning. The sky was beautiful and I managed to get in some pretty special photographs. It seriously put a smile on my face to see pigs roaming around and chickens out being chickens... With that being said, I would definitely stay here again should I find myself in the area.

There are really expansive grounds that visitors can walk with broken remnants of sculpture that strangely all blends into the beautiful mountains. There are surprising finds everywhere - large kilns that are being rehabilitated, a small store that sells the clay they make. Lots of artist studios that are in partnership with the nature surrounding it. We picked up some beautiful mugs (about $50 each) and a lovely planter (about the same).

I think my first ceramics were pre-glazed celadon in the S. Korean countryside in 1994! Let's just say I started young. I came out to Helena to actually hit a spa and am not an outdoorsy/hike/climb a mountain/camp type. So in advance of coming out for the day from where I was staying further south, I looked on Tripadvisor for local stuff to do and found this awesome place. I didn't get there as early as I'd planned due to some last minute derailment but I did get to spend 40 minutes or so getting a superficial peek, most of which time I spent checkong out the North Gallery. There are large and small pieces, quirky works and mainstream works, edgy words and weird works, delicate country chic and chic modernist works -- all kinds of artisans making all kinds of ceramic. Some really fun stuff to check out, and it's not a paid attraction. Self guided walking tour with a nice pamphlet and some fascinating history. I had no idea but apparently this is THE pre-eminent spot in all of North America to be going to if you want to study or admire ceramics. If I'd only known sooner I would have made an effort to get up there earlier during the week of my stay ... but next time I come to Yellowstone area MT (and MT managed to woo me enough for a next time) I'll fershurz be coming back! PS: You can have items you purchase shipped, if you're from out of town!

This is located right across the Montana State Capitol building. The museum entrance fees are as followed: - $5 (adult) - $1 (children) - $12 (family: 2 adults and immediate children under 19) - free (members) Once you pay your fees you get a sticker and a receipt which you can actually use as admission for two days. You can go in and out during the day as well if you just keep your receipt. There are a good amount of exhibits here, including one about the history of children toys, history of bison and other wildlife in the area, the daily lives of Native Americans, and the journey of Lewis and Clark through Montana. Some of my favorites were reading and seeing clothing, weapons, tipis, and other artifacts that Native Americans used to live, trade, and hunt. You can actually go into a replica of a tipi and sit on one of the chairs like how they would. I also learned about the history of their interactions with Lewis and Clark as they made their way through Montana, including wars that broke out between them and resulted in whites taking over their land and pushing them out. There were also some exhibits about the different tribes in the state and where they lived then and now. This museum was very informative and is exactly what I am looking for when I want to learn about the history of wherever I'm visiting, especially for a small entrance fee. If you're in Helena and looking to learn more about the area I recommend coming here!

Every Thanksgiving time, we end up watching a movie for my niece's birthday. It just so happens…read morethere's always some kind of Pixar or Disney Animation Studio movie released at this time and thus that is what we typically watch. It's an okay theater, small with similar amenities as other theaters I've been to, but during peak days and times, the lines can be long and there's only 2 registers for both tickets and concession stands which means you're rushing if you're running late for your show. L O C A T I O N Cinemark is located pretty much in the heart of Helena's downtown area. There are several eateries nearby and a parking area though the closest parking to the theater is the side street parking which is not enough for everyone in the theater. I N T E R I O R Although the exterior seems new, the interior is definitely dated. The seats of the theater are old so you wonder if they ever steam clean them but you know what? There are plenty of other theaters that are in the same boat unless they've been retrofitted to those recliners at which point getting seats is going to be tough. You can't get lost here...there's only 4 theaters and 4 different movies showing at any given moment. C O N C E S S I O N You have your typical popcorn and boxed candies. The workers are nice though they're not very good about really packing the popcorn and over filling it :) I do love a popcorn. The buttering machines are on the side which I don't use but my family does. They don't have extra containers so feel free to bring your own so you can share you popcorn as a lot of folks come in with a huge family. M O V I E S Like I mentioned...with only 4 theaters, you have slim selection or you miss the movie just in a blink of an instant if there's new movies coming out. At least you know the movies won't be stale! You'll always need to be on top of it if you like seeing movies in theaters. O V E R A L L Since you can get Costco discount on tickets, it's not a bad option. Though being the only option seems to be cornering the market here. It's something I know our family looks forward to yearly but I do wish they made it feel a bit cleaner than it appears. I really do hope they don't retrofit to recliners as this will really limit seating option and just increase prices.

In the past month, two very good movies: He Calls Me Daughter which was never even shown. And The Great Awakening which will only be shown for 5 days and for only afternoon movie times, No evenings times were offered This theater seems to have a lot of horror and small child themed flicks over all. It would be nice to see more family friendly films that cater to the "whole" family being offered , Instead of constant Horror and small children themed flicks being the main movie choices running for multiple weeks.

Staff are very personable, answered questions and suggested reading material for more on the subject. Very good, family friendly stop.
