I came here at the end of the season with my friend and saw lots of ripe beautiful plump cherries! Between us.. we picked 20lbs of cherries.. 11lbs for me and 9lbs for my friend! We got so carried away because of how fun picking was. We also had sharing with friends and family in mind as well.. so we sorta OVER-picked.. haha The ladders are set up throughout the rows of cherry trees and they're not super hard to move around. We each picked at different trees and occasionally stood on ladders to reach the cherries towards the top. Most of the cherries we picked were perfect and plump. No major damage or marks on them! It was rare to find cherries that we couldn't put in our bucket and keep. The weather wasn't too bad! Lots of shade is provided while picking cherries. They provide the bucket and bag and you just weigh your cherries in the end and pay for them by weight. This was our first time fruit picking and it was easy, simple, and fun! I hope to be back soon!

The cherries are so flavorful, the farm is easy to access, would recommend for your family to visit and pick some yummy cherries

There was so many U Pick cherry locations to choose from. Every time when we drove by, Sweet Lou's always caught our attention. This was our first cherry picking in Brentwood. There are no entrance fees and $4.50 per lb. They provided ladders but be careful and watch your step. The cherries are very sweet here but make sure to taste try some so you know which tree is full of sweet cherries. On Memorial day weekend, they had a snow cone truck which was awesome for the hot weather. The entire staff are so nice and helpful. They guide you the best tree full of cherries.

We had such a great experience here! The cherries were huge, sweet, and some of the best we've had. The orchard was super clean, well organized, and easy to walk through. You can tell the owners really care about the farm and the customer experience. Plus, the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. We'll definitely be back!

Spent our Mother's Day at Sweet Lou's and had a blast. We came in an hour after they opened and avoided the crowd. We highly suggest coming in early to beat the crowd and heat. They had ladders up for the pickers convenience and wide varieties of cherries available for picking. Also great price per pound ($4.50/lb). Pets are welcome but reminders for pet owners: 1.cherry pits are poisonous for dogs and 2. Be respectful and clean up after your pets. Would definitely come back when the rest of the other cherry varieties are ready for the picking.

    Cherries!

Later on, we found out that section was already out of season. As we walked farther, we finally saw much better cherries, but most of the good ones were way too high to reach and there were no ladders available. There were some lower branches, but the cherries there were not great in quality, so we ended up picking only around 3 lbs. We then decided to switch to the peach and nectarine area hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately there was barely anything good to pick. Most of the fruits were either overripe, damaged, or already picked over. Overall, it felt like the farm should have better guidance on which sections are still worth visiting before customers pay and spend time walking around in the heat. The staff was fine, but the overall fruit quality and picking experience were disappointing for us this visit.

Well being truthful even some as we picked....The orchard is beautiful, the staff is always friendly, and the experience has become one of our favorite family traditions. In a world where so many places change over time, it's honestly amazing to have a spot that stays consistently wonderful year after year. Thank you for a decade of memories, sticky fingers, full buckets, and happy hearts. Already counting down until next cherry season! Now to pit them and make a fresh cherry pie..... $4.50/pound

My daughter and I found what looked to be an unpicked cherry tree and went to work. It didn't take long for us to gather a bounty of cherries, and there was tons of low hanging fruit that was super easy for a petite seven-year-old to reach. Special thanks to the Freitas staff member who told us to pick dark cherries. The bright red ones look appealing but they need more time on the tree! We took home seven pounds of cherries. They were $4/pound and they take cash or credit cards. I checked their website before heading here (and recommend you do too!). We'll definitely be back to Freitas.

There was no signage indicating price/pound, and they give you a plastic bag to carry your cherries. When we got into the orchard, we noticed that most of the trees had been either picked clean or had berries that were rotten or too small/not ripe yet. We intentionally walked much further in to see if we could find some trees that hadn't been picked as much, but the orchard wasn't in great shape. We struggled to find cherries we actually wanted to pick, and we tripped a few times on the uneven dirt, weeds, and tubes running throughout. When we left, we weighed our cherries and confirmed they were $4/lb. Freitas also doesn't take credit card, so we had to pay with either cash or Venmo. We've previously been to The Cherry Pit and far preferred our experience there. The Cherry Pit had parking closer to the entrance, clear signage indicating price/lb, lots of high quality trees and ample cherries to pick, and accepts credit cards. The Cherry Pit also didn't ask us to sign a waiver before entering.

I go pick cherries at Chavez once a year for 7-8 years now. I wake up very early and try to get there right when they open so that I don't get stuck in traffic. It can get crowded. Also, this can help you get a parking spot for sure. They do have a big parking lot though so it's probably okay. Price this year: $4/lb. They accept credit card now too. I love cherries here. They are quite big, sweet and a little tangi. Yummy!! Just make sure to be patient and don't pick the ones that are not that dark yet. Keep going until you find a good tree. Then you can commit to picking them. I've seen people that pick too many of the light pink color ones and then ended up threw them away so they don't have to pay. So bad. Tip: follow them on instagram to get the latest updates on hours and available fruits for picking. The place is quite large, so you'll need to pay for their tractor ride ($4) to get from station to station. We came around 10:00 a.m. on a Monday and the place wasn't crowded. We picked up our baskets and then let the kids place around their tree house for a little bit before getting on the tractor. Our first stop was peaches and apricots. The peaches were pretty low hanging, and the kids were so excited to pick them. However, there weren't that many ripe ones at this time. There were more ripe apricots, and they were sweet and juicy. Our next stop was the strawberry station where there were plenty of ripe strawberries. Our last stop was the cherry station. Our driver directed us to the last row where we could find ladders. Sure enough the cherries were plentiful and so sweet and juicy. There were even kid size ladders for the littles ones. The fruits were 100 times better than what you'll find at the grocery store, and the kids had so much fun picking their own fruits. If you need a fun activity with the kids, I high recommend coming here.

However, there was no water available, and the staff member at the front wasn't able to tell us where to find any. Overall, it felt like the weekday experience lacked attention to guest services. In comparison, Urban Edge Farm, just a few minutes away, offered outstanding service, high-quality produce, and complimentary rides, making for a much more enjoyable visit.
