Karla's sells a tasty fusion of Mexican and other central American street food. It's in the parking lot of a bodega and stays open until about 1am. You go up to the truck, order, and wait about 15 minutes for your yummy. Side note, the food is great to soak up Flor de Cana :) My friend enjoyed her order of pupusas, while I also liked my Al Pastor tacos. My order consisted of three tacos on a corn tortilla, with the greens packed separately, and filled with well seasoned meat. I'm only taking off one star because I didn't taste pineapple pieces. Otherwise it was late night gourmet perfection! The employees were also really pleasant. Though we took our order to go, there's also a couple of tables outside to eat there.

The mofongo was topped with what tasted like a cilantro sauce, and there was some kind of crunchy element (maybe Cheetos or something similar?) that actually worked really well. The pork chunks were on point--tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. I also want to mention that the man who took my order and brought me my food was very kind, and I didn't have to wait long at all, which I really appreciated. That said, cleanliness is a big deal for me. I tend to notice those things, and unfortunately, this is where my experience changed. The outside of the food truck looked dirty, and I noticed spots on the ceiling that made me a bit uneasy. Inside, I saw a young woman on her phone, talking with one hand while scratching her head with the other, and then grabbing aluminum foil--presumably to handle food. That really didn't sit right with me. While the food itself was flavorful, and I'm thankful the gentleman preparing my order was wearing gloves, the overall cleanliness concerns make it hard for me to return. Soft and amazing. In my life, I've never had ribs that soft before. They were seriously incredible. The pork sausage, though, was a HIT for me. I'm a girl who loves sausage, any kind, and the way this was so juicy just hit a spot for me. Matter of fact, I'll stop cooking sausages at home and simply come buy them by the pound here. The pulled pork was good. It's my fault for putting Sweet Heat BBQ on it without trying it first because LORD JESUS. I don't know what I was thinking. I underestimated the heat, and usually I love it hot, but LORD. I think my bread absorbed all of it. So, tread lightly with the hot sauces. For me, next time I think playing with a regular BBQ sauce and adding little dashes of the heated sauces myself would be the move. BUT IF YOU LIKE CRAZY HEAT, THEY GOT IT. The mac was good. I finally got the exchange to visit their location the other day and it's been amazing to see their growth over the years! The space is very cute, they have plenty of indoor seating and also have a nice area in the back for people to enjoy. The chef still cooks each meal to order out of the food trailer/truck in the back. The owners are so kind and always make me feel welcome when I visit. The food is always incredibly fresh and delicious. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but I never mind because I don't really consider the food they serve to be fast food. I always have a great experience when visiting to TRC and everything I have tried from their menu has been delicious!
