My favorite dessert shop in town. I've made several purchases from cupcakes, cheezecakes, and my favorite banana pudding. Every purchase knocks it out of the park. Cupcakes are moist although--I do have a single complaint the buttercream is usually a harder texture than what I like...but it isn't enough to make this a 4 star review thank you. The service every time I come in is lovely I get greeted the millisecond I enter the building. The workers always are enthusiastic about the weekly flavors and always answer my questions. They also have an espresso/beverage bar that I'm not familiar with, but the menu looks yummy from latte cold brew and iced energy drinks. I'd love to come again and I will thank you. This used to be my go to for sweets. Especially the cupcakes. Vanilla and Oreo were my favorite but recently they're ALWAYS dry and somewhere crumbly. I reached out to the owner a long time ago and she offered to send replacement coupons for my order, I never received them. Yesterday my husband surprised me with cupcakes because I just had surgery. Let me start by just informing you that there is a chocolate peanut butter missing from My pics. For some reason it didn't last long enough to make the verifying photo. But, it was delicious!!!!! I ate it in the car sitting in the parking lot . My other desserts where 2 slices of cheese cake and the slices were humongous... we had cheesecake for 2 days. Its unfortunate, and I had such high hopes. The place was clean and the service was good. So many delicious looking options. From cakes, ice creams and truffles. I was planning on going back simply because I wanted to try everything. However... I got the NY cheesecake. Now as I am a lover of cheesecake, and it looked good with the berries on top, I was looking forward to it. It was bad. So bad, I didn't finish it. So bad, I felt the need to write a review. Tasty! While I didn't physically visit this bakery, I was a recipient of a delicious cupcake. The cupcake traveled all the way from Fredericksburg to Virginia Beach. The freshness... everything was pretty much in tact. I must mention the weather was well above 90 degrees on this particular day. The cupcake was flavored oh so swell, moist, fresh, the perfect amount of sweetness... I loved it! While this isn't the best cupcake I have ever had, this is the first cupcake that I have had in weeks, maybe even months... so worth the wait. It's an addiction at this point! I love their cupcakes so much, and it's always so exciting to know what the weekly featured flavors will be. The cupcakes are typical pricing from what I've seen, $4 per cupcake which can add up pretty quickly. I've tried their fancy sodas and thought they were pretty good but it's not something I would try often. I've tried a latte last week which was an actual disappointment but maybe I'll venture out and try again another time. I have an idea of just sitting in this shop with a drink and sweet since it's so cute inside but can't do that if the drinks are bland. I have had 2 experiences with them in the last 2 weeks. The first was in their store. We hosted a small class outing for people with disabilities. The employees went above and beyond to demonstrate exceptional customer service and patience with each guest. The cupcakes themselves were quickly devoured by all due to their deliciousness. The birthday surprise flavor was also very delicious, moist, and slightly on the denser side, which I didn't mind. However, the vanilla with shredded coconut and was quite the opposite. When I inquired about ordering cupcakes ahead of time to a nice young girl at the counter, someone, I assume a Manager?, barked over her and told me all the info. I always drive past Sweet Reasons when i'm in the mood for some fast food and I decided "Why don't I give them a try?" I looked online and their cupcakes looked DELICIOUS! I love carbs and sweets, and cupcakes are my guilty pleasure. I wanted two vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting. I saw online that their lobby isn't open to the public, so I called to see if I can still pay them with cash. They said they would only accept cash if it's the exact amount, otherwise I can pay online or pay over the phone with my card. All I have to do is pay for it and it's mine - then pick it up 'tomorrow'. I go to pay the cashier, and she says 'Nein! A whole cake must be ordered 3 days in advance!' I suggest I can come in the next day and buy 8 individual pieces before the cake is cut, i.e., let's just call it a cake! And while I'm at it, I'll buy it 12hrs early since I'm in the store. No! That's just too logical for this place. These two by the way are not High Schoolers. They are 20-something actual SJW cupcakes. Logic does not apply to their decision making processes. To be honest, Basilico down the street has better desserts. Cheesecake among them. So does Wegmans. And Fredericksburg Cupcake on George St. has far better cupcakes. I got the vanilla with chocolate icing, strawberry, chocolate with vanilla icing, and one strawberry/raspberry red velvet. The vanilla and strawberry cupcakes were OK. The icing on them was a little too sweet and they put SO much icing on that I had to throw away half from each cupcake. The chocolate one was disgusting. The bread part was really bitter and again, had way to much icing. My favorite had to be the red velvet. That cupcake alone deserves 5 stars but everything was just so inconsistent here that I have to give this place 3 stars. The red velvet cupcake was really moist and the icing was really smooth. It is a solid 3. The space is really cute, and I love the concept of a dessert bar. Honestly, the shop that was by Chick Fila and was just cupcakes, was boring and the cupcakes were meh. This space is like a trendy cafe, and has many options. There are cupcakes, really large cupcakes, cheesecakes, cookies, brownies, and a few other random things. I wanted one of everything. I got a cookies and cream cupcake, a banana pudding cookie, and a turtle brownie. The cupcake was delicious. I loved that it was yellow cake with cookie pieces mixed in. Usually it's a chocolate cupcake with cookies and cream icing. The icing was wonderful as well. The banana pudding cookie was AMAZING! I am not a cookie person. This cookie reminded me of a black and white. It is almost like cake. It was incredible. I love turtle anything, and brownies, but I was not a fan of the brownie. It was big and the topping was good, but the brownie was dry with a ton of chocolate chips in it that made it dryer. I was disappointed because this is really basic, but a classic. I definitely want to go back and try their sandwich cookie, and a few other cupcakes. They were out of all of the special cupcakes with descriptions, so when I asked what was in "everyday" cupcakes, the staff was definitely impatient. I didn't know if they were stuffed, or what was in some of them. Then after I got my cupcakes, which I asked a few questions about and tried to keep it moving to the other desserts, they were trying to ring me up and push me out. I ordered some other desserts, and was definitely more interested in these options. They were more unique, and not just cupcakes. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to order everything I wanted because they kept ringing me up, when I clearly wasn't done ordering. I would give the staff no stars. There definitely wasn't a miscommunication. The banana pudding cookie is 6 stars lol. The cupcake was 5 stars, but I would give the brownie 2 stars.
