Not really sure...we might have hit them at the wrong time. It was 2 hours before closing and they were almost out of donuts with just a few of their chocolate caramel and their carrot cake donuts remaining. We took one each and the carrot cake donut was the winner. The server said that they had some big groups come in and kinda clean them out of donuts and they were considering closing shop. Right after us the a few more families came for coffee and they literally closed shop.. good for them. Now seems like a gas station building converted into this cool little donut n coffee shop. May try again if I get a chance. Btw...while we sat and enjoyed the donuts with coffee on their benches we saw a lot of families come in and try to open the door only to be told that they had closed early. Definitely looks like a local fav.

Excellent donut! Thick but chewy, soft and yummy! Hubby had the maple bacon donut and I had the frosted fruity pebbles donut and they were both wonderful! Service was friendly, quick and efficient. The quirky little shop was visually pleasing with some cute and quaint decor.

We always love stopping when in the area. Service is always quick and staff is very friendly. The donuts never disappoint. Be sure to go early in the day to get a good flavor variety. They have a fun mural on the building my kiddos love. One thing, I wish they had more seating and parking options.

The donuts are excellent. A lot of different varieties if you get there early in the morning, if not they are gone fast.

3.75 is a better average. Came towards the end of the day so the selection seemed limited. Got an apple fritter, funnel cake donut, and pumpkin cider cake donut. The only one worth getting again - is the apple fritter. But I still give that no more than 4 stars. It was way too big / thick, low glaze to donut ratio, but I thought the texture was solid. Chewy, not dry, and good taste. Just needs to be about half the thickness and a little more glaze and it would be closer to a 5. The other two were just ok.

Cute spot to grab a little deserved snack. Not too many flavors were available when we visited but good customer service. Donuts were alright, but nothing I'd rush back for.

Every time I go here I am amazed. I know I have to go Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The staff is amazing!!!! We had a donut cake made for Mr daughter's birthday and it came out incredible and what we asked for it taste great. The staff on the weekends are amazing!!!!

Amazing spot for gourmet doughnuts. There is nothing standard about these - we had a snickers doughnut covered in caramel, chocolate, and peanuts, and a cronut, and they were borderline life changing. The pumpkin spice dirty chai was also amazing. There is not much room inside, but there are several covered picnic tables outside. This is a great place to grab a dozen doughnuts to go when you need to bring something to a work meeting or are feeding houseguests.

4.5 stars! Service was friendly and quick. The shop is small and does not have indoor seating. If the weather is nice, there are two picnic tables outside. We tried the glazed blueberry and chocolate cake donuts. They were way bigger than a Dunkin donut and way less sweet, but still had flavor. The Boston cream donut was delicious as well! I love that it's family owned/local too.

Amazing fresh and fluffy donuts with creative flavors like Samoa, caramel macchiato, French toast and horchata, plus cronuts and cinnamon rolls (weekends) and really delicious coffees. Everything is made up fresh onsite throughout the day. The donuts are huge, cronuts and cinnamon rolls even larger. They also offer some turnovers and other pastries. Servers are friendly and will happily tell you the specialty flavors of the week and make suggestions for coffee drinks. There's often a line because everyone knows how good the donuts are here but they keep it moving as fast as they can. If you bring your pup they have a jar of dog treats too. All seating is outdoors. There's a private parking lot and street parking. It's a short walk to the Mary Washington campus or old town Fredericksburg shopping too. For my money these are simply the best donuts in Northern Virginia and I'll happily drive the hour to get them.

    strawberry glazed

They got rid of student discounts but the donuts are still very affordable. They are so big and sweet, I would recommend going with something basic, if you're like me. I tried the boston cream in the past and it almost put me in a sugar coma. I had the strawberry glazed more recently and it was the perfect level of sweetness without feeling so dense and heavy

Donuts were alright. The dough was good, the icing was okay, but the donut and icing didn't go well together.

As usual, my wife started looking for a place we haven't been before. Having been in Fredericksburg now for almost 2 1/2 years, the list of such places is getting shorter. We were out Route 3 west of 95, and she found a place called Affogato Europa Cafe. It's a family-run cafe and bakery featuring pastries, sandwiches, coffees, and lots of other sweets. It was a very clean, friendly looking place. We looked at the menu and my wife decided to have a Beef and Onion Burek, which is a traditional Balkan flaky pastry filled with, in this case, beef and onions. It was fantastic. Very flavorful and the pastry melted in your mouth. I'm a sucker for anything with the word "breakfast" in it. I had the Balkan Breakfast Panini. This marvelous sandwich contains egg, chorizo, cheese spread, provolone, tomato, and arugula. It was outstanding and the chorizo was very tasty (though a bit hard to bite through). I know I love a sandwich when after I put the last bite in my mouth, I feel a little sad because it is all done. Such was the case here. My wife had a Cortado espresso, which she loved but was a bit strong for me. I had a London Fog, which seemed like a latte with a hint of Earl Gray tea. I loved it, and when my wife tasted it she pronounced it "nummy". She doesn't use that word a lot so when she does I know she loves it. After lunch we split a Lava Cake, which is a small but decadent chocolate cupcake. The dining room was small but comfortable. The servers we encountered at the counter were very friendly. Rest room was very clean. It's not really close to us, but when were shopping out on Route 3, we'll certainly try them again.

I was excited to give this place a try - but what others have said is true - there is an extremely pungent smell of (what I believe is) mold that's rampant throughout the room. I had to cover my nose while I was there because it was so overbearing. At the desk, there were an assortment of other pastries and bakery items that were out for display - but what I noticed was that one of the pastries had a massive amount of what I believed was mold growing on top of it. It was discolored gray and I couldn't help but stare at it. The lady that tended to us was kind enough, but I think it's just her tending the store. I didn't see anyone else there and she walked out to the back to make the tea drinks for us. Judging by the state of the front of the store - I was really curious to see the state of the store in the back. The tea I drank was okay. It didn't taste completely off, but it was generic. Sugary. The state of the location had just set me off so much I didn't feel comfortable continuing to consume it. Frankly, we sort of expected better. If nothing else, the very harsh smell needs to be removed. There were enough indicators there for me to suspect there's a lot of mold growing somewhere within that room.

Take your "tyme" and relax at this sweet tearoom! It's cute, but not as prim as some other tearoom…read moreI've been to. There are plastic covers on the chairs, which is practical yes, but takes away from the formality of a tearoom. A couple of the tables were wobbly, and I think they could use one or two smaller tables for twosomes and threesomes. The paper napkins were wrapped the utensils with a cute ribbon which was a nice touch for paper napkins. The main drawback: There was literally a little waste receptacle ON the table! Definitely not appropriate. There's a sort of creepy yet quirky robot that greets you at the front door. It evidently speaks different languages. She's cute though! Her name is Rose. The Victorian afternoon tea was nice, you know okay. I had the cucumber sandwiches (and added chicken salad sandwich for an upcharge) and the tea for $16.95 came with a mini cupcake, a mini scone and a mini cookie. The cuke sandwich was lightly toasted and fresh, the chix salad was on wheat and too mayonnaise-y for my taste. The sweets were delicious. You can choose your sandwich from several options, and your flavor of scone. Today the had raspberry white chocolate, orange cranberry, and blueberry. The Earl Grey cream tea was hot and fresh. Nicely steeped! The teapot and the tea accoutrements were all pretty! The server, Jamie, was sweet and helpful. The shop was also filled to the brim with gifts: jewelry, tea things, figurines, ornaments, candles, soaps and other knickknacks. While I was there the tearoom filled up quickly! Families and guys enjoyed their tea times. However, the ladies behind me were quite loud and rude playing videos loudly of their kids doing "cute" things. So gauche! So uncouth! Not tearoom manners at all! I wanted to take their phones! Ugh! Several customers walked in and ordered from the counter with a large selection of smoothies, boba tea, bubble tea, chai teas, milk teas, coffees, and milkshaplus a huge selection of regular teas: black, herbal, green and white teas. I'd come back, but don't expect the typical English tea experience. It's a bit more low key and casual. Unless you have a large party, you can just walk in without a reservation. I did come back! It was nice that on a Friday, they were open late and we were able to grab a bite! Service was slow on this day because I think only one person was minding the store! I chose the Buckingham Palace tea this time!!
