But mind you this is in addition to the tip jar at the register. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich to go and it was $12.50 (no chips, sides or pickle) plus the 15% and standard taxes. I paid $16. and change. Not worth it to me, and especially considering the service. The staff seemed like I was bothering her and I was an inconvenience. I am passionate about supporting small local owned businesses vs chains but I will take my business elsewhere going forward. I do wish them the best but I did notice I was the only person there at 11:30 AM.

I've tried the ones from Dominic Ansel when the cronut was at its peak and I prefer the Freddy version. I found the ones with the drizzle on them to be better. The size of the cronut is huge compared to the Dominique Ansel one. Freddy's is the size of your hand where the other is a quarter size smaller. The cronut at Freddy's is also cheaper going at $4.25 versus $7.75 at Dominique Ansel. They come in glaze drizzle, chocolate and vanilla drizzle, maple drizzle and French toast. Cronuts not available or don't feel like a big cronut...ask if they have the cronut bites. They come in a set of three and you can get either glaze drizzle or cinnamon sugar. The size of their classic and specialty donuts are huge. We are talking easily can be sharable (if you want to). Currently the pricing of their donuts are: $1.95 house/ $2.75 specialty/$2.75 cake/ $3.25 monster filled. They have quite the creative list of flavors. No gluten free options though. Their donuts are light and flavorful. It's not overly sweet at all and well balanced. By their size you get your bang for your buck. If you want to get your choosing of flavors, it's better to go at the start of the day. Later in the day you chance that they could be sold out on flavors - especially if they are busy that day. The donuts are packed in whimsical boxes that are colorful and say "You Deserve A Donut." They also have drinks for purchase but we didn't grab any- maybe next time. On the wall they also have cute donut themed shirts with popular cartoons and characters like Bluey, Pikachu and Deadpool. There is limited parking around the shop. Otherwise plenty of street parking. We took our donuts to go but you can also dine there in front of the store where they have picnic tables. The building looks like it might have been a service gas station in the past. It's decorated with a snake mural and they also have neat drawings inside on their chalkboard menu. She personally reached out, corrected the error, and even took the time to call and both clarify and apologize. That level of customer service really stood out to me and made a big difference. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but it's how a business responds that matters most. It's a good sign that Rita's has customers at many hours throughout the day. This Rita's is relatively popular but has a terrible location for when it gets busy. The parking lot can be hectic and tight and people overflow quickly into the parking lot, at times, when it's only slightly busy. Also, I've gone a couple times during a rush (unintentionally) and there has often been one person working so it would move very slowly. Makes sense but I'm surprised the owner hasn't looked at data to analyze the busiest times and I don't even know if the workers have relayed information about the busy hours. I've avoided this locations several times when I see it's slightly busy and there's one worker. It always just gets worse with the wait time from that point on. The service is friendly and there are a few outdoor tables to eat your delicious choice at. The ambiance is nice but it can get very crowded quickly. After visiting and trying ice cream shops all along the East Coast during our vacation, Carl's still stands out as a true gem.
