My insurance changed so I was without a regular dentist. I had pain in a tooth so I looked on Yelp for help in picking a new dentist and I came across Dr. Grace. I called and was given an appointment the same day. I was amazed how nice the office is and the staff is so friendly and professional. The office is hi-tech and I got a full tour. Dr. Grace checked my tooth and showed me on the x-ray that the pain was likely the result of a sinus situation and that the tooth was fine. I followed her advice and all went well. I came back several weeks later for a cleaning and I was shown the scans of my mouth and a crown was recommended. Easy to agree to a crown when you can see the issue in great detail. I have been going to Dr Grace for years now (idk 4?) I go regularly, 4 times a year. Always do everything she recommends. Never been a problem. Until today. Her office calls and says "oh FyI, we don't take MetLife anymore so your appointment next week will be full cost and collected up front." I was like wow that's shocking since I was just there and no one mentioned anything like that when I made my appointment last month, when did this change happen. She was like we knew in January but this happened last week. ... so basically, the fact I've been a loyal customer for years means nothing and my cost went from 26$ to 350$ ... and they said they might comp ex rays.... I have been a patient of Dr. Grace for many years. Last week I missed a cleaning appointment and I was charged a "no show" fee which I thought would be $50.00 at most. I was appalled when I saw that they had charged me a "no show" fee of $150.00! I am sure their response will be that I signed a "No Show Fee" agreement, but I feel that this is way too much to have to pay as it appears to be even more than they would have been paid for a basic cleaning service that was submitted through my insurance plan. I will definitely be looking for a new dentist. If anyone reading this review uses her services, keep a close eye on her office fees and charges. Even though she says she is "In Network" with a dental insurance company, she will try and attach additional out of pocket fees to any work you have done at her office. I've been going to Dr. Grace at Sweet Tooth Dentistry for around a year now and I am very happy even though I have had to do several crown replacements, fillings and cleanings there. - The facilities are the cleanest and prettiest - Dr. Grace listens to your concerns and works to make your experience as comfortable as possible - You can can watch Netflix or TV while the dentist and staff are hard at work on your teeth - They are very honest. They document your teeth before and after the dental work - Dr. Grace gives you options of treatment and explains the benefits - I think Sweet Tooth Dentistry is actually affordable even though they use modern technology and dont have dingy yellow walls with corny dentist comics. read more

I am one of the unlucky ones that has severe anxiety disorder, which means that I neglected my teeth for (many) years because of my fear of having a panic attack at the dentist. I knew it was time to get back, so I did a lot of time googling which office seemed the most gentle and understanding- and I am SO happy I ended up picking Sweet Tooth. Every single person has been so friendly and kind, and they really seem to understand that the fear and anxiety is real. I have had 4 sessions with Rhina for deep cleanings and she is genuinely the kindest, gentlest soul who actually cares about her patients and how they are feeling. I orginally followed Dr. Hwang when she left Dr. Fealy to open her own practice because she is very gentle when practicing her dentistry (Dr. Fealy is also great but his hands are much larger than Dr. Hwang's; but I would also highly recommend him). Recently, I have been impressed by her practice of standing behind her work. When she didn't like how a recently placed crown had a slight gap between the crown and the tooth, possibly because of the work done by the dental lab on the crown, she replaced it free of charge. No dentist I have used in the past took such responsibility for their work. read more

Came here for a second opinion. The front desk Lilly was very sweet and helpful. The office was nice and clean and gave me a tour. Dr. Hwang was nice, even though I brought my recent Xrays from my previous dentist, she took pictures and one X-ray on my recent extraction. I'm not going to get into detail or this will be so long! Dr. Hwang told me she was going to refer me to another specialist because it seemed my extraction needed more bone graft but know I'm questioning her opinion. I don't appreciate when a professional says they are going to call you and don't follow up. Dr. Hwang told me she was going to call me, to refer me to another specialist. Neither she or her staff follow through. I waited 3 weeks for a call back and decided to call myself. The front desk lady was not Lilly (I think she's a new person) she said she was going to follow up with the Dr. and call me back when she gets the info. I waited another week for a call back. After a week I called back and the front desk lady apologized for not calling back which I believe she was sincere, I understand accidents happen and some times it gets busy but now, I feel they didn't had the best interest in me as a patient. They just saw me as an outsider, an opportunity to charge my insurance for unnecessary pictures and xrays. Also, they wanted me to get my cleaning which, I decided to let them do it because I needed one. I have to say that the hygienist was rough and also didn't complete my cleaning. She forgot to floss and rinse my mouth well. I could feel little grainy stuff that they use to clean your teeth. My mouth after the numbing gel was very soar! I had my teeth cleaned before and this was very painful! Since, I had to leave I just let it slide but definitely not coming back. I was hoping I found my dentist. I'm starting to believe what SCV residents say; that you have to get out of Santa Clarita to find a good, honest dentist. read more

First timer root canal recipient! I was a walk in, asked if they took my insurance and made an apt. I first went in for a cleaning and decided to continue with the other recommendations. After leaving my cleaning apt, my chomppers felt nice and clean. I also went for a root canal at a later time and received consistent exceptional care. General housekeeping! Front Desk: Michelle is a sweetheart and always warm and welcoming. It helps to have such a cheerful person to greet you. Parking: ample, no prob here. Park on the 2nd floor for quick access. Premise: clean and tasteful! Whomever was in charge of decorating did a great job, and I think this a reflection of the doctor. If she is that meticulous w the decor and details of her working space, she is probably the same with oral care. Doctor: I got to say she is pretty cool. I think her main concern was to make sure u are comfortable at all times. She answered all my questions and helped me weight out my options. She even called to check up on me after the root canal. Additional Perks: Netflix and Earphone while ur having your procedure done. That is super nice, it helps filter out the dreadful dentist tool sounds. read more

As far as Dr. Hwang is concerned she is wonderful but beware of the practices on billing. I was coerced into a consultation with the Oral Doctor Dr. Pick by this dental practice not being told he was not a participating provider with Delta Insurance. Not only was I hit with a $200 consultation fee (This is absurd) he's fees were insane. I have moved on they have lost our business which is a shame since they are a 50 steps from my home. UPDATE: Dr. Hwang went out of her way to call me and heard my concerns over these issues. Having corrected some of the problems I experienced with her billing practices I am thankful. Used to love this place... until my husband missed his cleaning appointment and a couple days later we receive a bill of $150 (!!!) for a missed appointment!! That's after they asked us the day before to change our cleaning appointment times to accommodate their staff! They even called my husband 5 minutes after his appointment time, at 12:50, to see if he was still coming. (Mind you his reminder text message still showed his original appointment time of 1:30) He figured he'd rather reschedule than delay following appointments (even though we only live 10 minutes away). Dr hwang is awesome! She's the best and nicest dentist I've ever had. She is professional, so kind and caring, and is very knowledgeable. I took my daughter here and she was so good with her! The office is really nice too. It felt like a spa! My daughter got to watch tv and sit in a massage chair while getting her teeth cleaned. Wow, just wow. Still blown away from how amazing my experience was with Dr. Grace and her team. All my life, I can say I received mediocre dental care, but I didn't realize that until I came to Sweet Tooth. First of all, they care about you and your dental care. I've never had more than 5 mins with my past dentists. They always just relegated me to their dental staff. Dr Grace took an hour with me, and separately with my daughter, helping us build a dental plan that worked for our lives. Her knowledge is superior, which made me feel more than comfortable in placing my dental care in her hands. This was on top of the amazing hygienist Liz doing the most thorough cleaning I've ever had. Liz as well took her time to help me build a routine that would assist in my long term dental care. Everyone was so kind from Sara at the front desk to Jose and Jennifer who assisted me throughout the full 2 hour introductory appointment. They really work as a team here and you can genuinely tell they all enjoy what they do and take pride in how they do it. I also appreciated that they took the time to actually explain what they are doing and give you the options versus trying to sell you on services like lots of other dentist offices. Amazing customer service, but it didn't end there as the dentist office also uses the most state of art equipment and technology that I've ever seen. As for your comfort, enjoy a heated massage chair, watching your own TV program or Netflix show while having a cleaning. It's like a spa instead of a dentist. This was my first time at this dentist and I can say I had the greatest experience. This place was recommended by my son's dentist, so it made me feel at ease about choosing this place. Everyone was so sweet and personable. I've spoke to Sarah over the phone when I made my first appointment and you could already tell how welcoming she was. I also met Jose who helped me get settled and gave me a mini tour of the office, he also made me feel so comfortable, he's super personable and really helped me feel a little more calm with just having conversations while prepping me along the way.
