Initial Review- I had high hopes going into my consultation with Dr. Salmassian, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The office itself was clean and well-staffed, and Liz at the front desk was incredibly polite and helpful during the scheduling process. She informed me that the $129 consultation would be with Dr. Salmassian, the cosmetic specialist, which made me feel confident I was in the right hands for a veneers consultation. However, the visit itself didn't go as expected. After a short wait, I was seated and briefly chatted with a hygienist for about 10 minutes, who told me Dr. Salmassian would be in shortly--and that he was the go-to for veneers. But when Dr. Salmassian arrived, things took a turn. He immediately dismissed the idea of discussing veneers, saying I wasn't ready and needed to see a periodontist and an orthodontist first. I was already aware of my gum recession and had consulted another specialist earlier that day who felt veneers were still a viable option. Rather than offering a balanced discussion or even acknowledging my interest in veneers, Dr. Salmassian focused entirely on my gum recession and discoloration. He literally said, "I'm not going to talk to you about veneers. You need to see a periodontist first and then an orthodontist." He didn't even explain why I needed to see an orthodontist, which left me feeling even more confused and unsatisfied. While I understand the importance of addressing underlying issues, he could have approached the conversation with more empathy and professionalism. Instead, he came across as rushed, dismissive, and frankly, condescending. He spent no more than 10-12 minutes with me, and the appointment felt more like a lecture than a consultation. When I called back to request the photos taken during my visit, Liz was again kind and helpful, but the office manager, Bridget, was defensive and completely invalidated my concerns. Initially I was told I had to come in for an appointment to fix it. While placed on hold for an appointment time, The same manager who texted my medical records came to the phone to tell me an appointment couldn't be made bc I was no longer a patient!? News to me she stated I was removed from the roster because of the Yelp review I wrote and bc I had picked up my medical records. The medical records everyone has a right to. I picked them up on a Friday, my tooth fell out on a Tuesday night, they refused me on Wednesday. Thousands of dollars invested in my oral care and with this dentistry and zero loyalty. I have been coming to Bridgeport Dentistry for at least 5 years now and I love them! I've experienced a few different dental hygienists over the years, but each one cleans my teeth really well. My teeth have always stained really easily so they do a good job removing the stains. A while back, I used to have a permanent bottom retainer for almost 10 years until one day it suddenly decided to completely pop off. Which was scary because the piece is so small you could swallow it. So the back of my bottom teeth looked and felt disgusting after having a retainer there for so long. It's like getting your braces off when your teeth underneath are all stained and rough to the touch. And of course this happened on a weekend when the dentist is closed. However, I called Bridgeport Dentistry that following Monday morning and explained the issue and they were able to squeeze me in the next day since they advised it shouldn't take long to polish and smooth out the back of my teeth where the retainer was. I was grateful they were able to get me in ASAP and they made my teeth look and feel so much better after. A lot of people dread going to the dentist but I personally look forward to it because I love the clean feeling afterwards! read more
