Their main location is in Mississauga, and they expanded to North York a few years ago. Service is nice and cheerful, making you feel quite welcome. I like their drink selection that has some interesting things like black sesame latte, tiramisu latte, and grapefruit tea. Their dessert select is good too, with things big and small. Their rolls and cakes are excellent, with plenty of cream, not too sweet. The cakes are beautifully glazed and decorated. The sweet potato cake is fluffy and light. The mont blanc has a nice chestnutty flavour, but is a bit too sweet for my liking. At the moment, they are selling Korean dubai chewy cookies, but we'll see how long this fad lasts...

But she was right LOL. It was really good, and it was even better than the desserts at the restaurant we had dinner at that night. We cut the 6" cheesecake into 12 small pieces, and it was perfect for a sweet little treat at the end of our meal :) The staff were courteous and ready to help. It was quite busy even on a Saturday evening around 6pm. There are also tables inside the shop for dining in. Other than whole cakes, they do have slices of cakes available and other mini desserts + a lot of macarons! We did request the shop to write HBD on the cake, but the staff said they are unable to do it at this location (not sure why, maybe don't have the proper tools?). We also tried asking for a candle; we ended up having to buy a pack of 6 candles at the shop :\

There are a few tables and chairs to sit down to eat or a quick stop for a drink. Service 5/5 The staff were very friendly and helpful. They walked through the options they had and were patient with questions. I really appreciated being able to sample some of the bread before deciding. It made the experience feel welcoming and relaxed. Food 4/5 There's plenty of choices on the menu and everything tasted freshly made flavours are solid and satisfying, and the ability to try samples first helped narrow down what to order. Would definitely come back to try more items. Just keep in mind that some products would be sold out later on in the day, so try to come early in the afternoon if you want to see everything. I had the yuzu and they also have matcha and red bean buns

I bought a couple of buns as a customer since then and I'm hooked! Bun Appetit is located at Commerce Gate. It's located closer to Highway 7. It's around the corner from Kinton Ramen, which I have been to a handful of times during the pandemic to pick up good eats. I found a parking spot steps away from Bun Appetit on a Wednesday evening at around 6:15 pm and backed in to it. It's easier to find parking when it's a weekday, in the afternoon. Bun Appetit's breads are naturally fermented for 168 hours. I liked that all buns and breads are gut-friendly and low on the glycemic index. I'm always interested in lower sugar options. I have sampled these items: - Baguette - Whole wheat walnut vegan bun - Lychee bun - Raisin earl grey bun - Oreo chocolate delight bun - Matcha pistachio pretzel - Whole wheat German pretzel - Yeast loaf with Nutella They were all delicious. They were soft and airy. My favourites were the whole wheat walnut vegan bun and the Oreo chocolate delight bun (also known as the messy hands bun). The former had whole walnuts that were so crunchy and fresh. The bread was chewy and soft. The messy hands bun used dark chocolate. It was also fluffy and soft. It lived up to its name. I had messy fingers just eating a morsel! It has 9 g of sugar, which is practically nothing being fermented. I liked how unique the flavours were. I loved the smell of the lychee bun. I wish it had lychee pieces in it. Instead, it was wine-infused and that flavour overpowered everything. I loved the yeast loaf with Nutella as a dessert option. I nearly picked up a loaf after this event was over! As a parting snack, I got the truffle mushroom one. It was the last one. I love mushrooms. It was super delicious with truffle oil, enoki mushrooms, spinach, garlic, and melted cheeses on top. The bun was soft and perfect. It was such a gourmet bun. I have since returned to get more buns: - Strawberry beetroot - Chocolate arancia The strawberry beetroot bun was fluffy. I decided to cut it in half. To my surprise and joy, it had whole strawberries in it. Wow and yay! I love fruit, but I wasn't expecting so much of it in this bun. I loved it. It was naturally sweet from the strawberries. The beetroot wasn't noticeable in flavour. I feel it added colour to the triangular bun more than anything. The chocolate arancia was equally as unique slicing it in half. This bun had candied orange bits in it. It tasted so good with the chocolate morsels on top and the subtle chocolate flavour in the bun itself. It was delicious. I need to return for more. I have found the buns of my dreams, which sounds odd and funny. It's all true! I paid with a credit card. You can register your phone number to collect points towards goodies. I'll be back. (185)

We got the mango cake which looks amazing as the mango slices are arranged to look like a giant flower. The mangoes were very fresh and sweet. The cake was not bad - like a sponge cake - soft and spongy though I feel could have had a bit more flavor/sugar. In between the layers of the cake are a mix of light cream and mango chunks which was refreshing. The base of the cake has a nice layer of chocolate crunch - kind of like chocolate cornflakes but smaller and more delicious. The textural difference really stands out against the soft cake and smooth mangoes. Would definitely order this cake again!

The custard was decent - it could be smoother & more fragrant. Golden Garlic Butter Bun was moist enough & had a good garlic butter taste. Meat Floss stick was great - big, moist & fluffy, with a lot of tasty pork floss with some crisp, accented with sesame seeds & green onions.

They cater to customers who are playing badminton, volleyball and pickleball. But most of their businesses seem to come from catering. I have order a a number of birthday cakes from them before. The order process was simple, and we could pay when we pick up the cake. We picked it up on my husband's birthday day almost their closing time. The owner and her kids were all at the store to wait for us, she said they were going to close early for dinner with her father. We were so sorry about that. And she asked how long for our drive home, when we said about 15-20 mins, she gave us 3 bags of ice to keep it cold. She was really nice. Since we have 3 bags of ice, we decided to have dinner before we got home. The cake was still in great shape when we were home. I really didn't know how to cut this bear cake. Because I ordered the one with heart shapes flurry, face was smiling bear, clothes changed to light blue and "H" on the heart place bear. It was too cute to cut it or eat it. My husband asked me to close my eyes and he fed me. I chose the taste was Tiramisu flavour without wine. So the bear looked good. The taste could be customised, I was thinking of sesame taste, but she told me the bear would be a bit dark and black spots, I don't want it to look weird, so I decided to have Tiramisu taste. The whole bear was really creamy and mousse a lot, only inside a little cake. 5' cake it looked like small, but 2 of us still finished it in 2 days. Highly recommended to try their daily lunch special, it's a combo that includes a meal and a cup of bubble tea, only $9.99. I will definitely try it next time.
