Cute bingsu cafe in an area with pretty fierce food competition. I've been here for takeout before (lattes) but I was happy to finally get a chance to dine in and try their bingsu. We got the injeolmi (soybean powder) bingsu which was layered in with mochi and condensed milk (I think). We tried this flavor of bingsu at another place and this one was by far the best one we've had so far. Also, the bingsu being served in a chilled metal bowl was a nice touch and ensured we could enjoy our dessert at our own pace. I found the tiramisu to be OK, but my friend thought it was good. The other pleasant surprise was the Black Sesame Einspanner. I had to google what it was (coffee with a thick cream on top to keep in the heat) and it was way more satisfying than I expected. The richness of the black sesame blended with the thick cream very nicely, and made for a coffee I would gladly get again. Overall, wonderful experience, and I definitely plan to return.

We ordered and paid at the counter and waited at a table for our order to be called for pickup. We ordered a large injeolmi (yellow soybean flavour) shaved ice. It has mochi and condensed milk sprinkled throughout and on the top. We were able to ask for extra condensed milk (got it in a mini cup on the side). The ice is soft and fluffy as usual and the injeolmi powder complements it well. I always mean to try a new flavour but just can not go wrong with the injeolmi!! **There is a self serve water station near the counter as well.
Great tasting bingsu! They have sooo many different options it's so difficult to choose something! I was torn between the black sesame and blueberry bingsu. I got the black seasame and it was delicious! The ice w condensed milk(?) was so sweet and delicious and I loved the little mochi pieces and red bean! The cup version is def enough for one person! I also saw some friends sharing the small and large bowls. I like how each bowl is a piece of art! Besides bingsu, they also have toast, Croffle (croissant waffles), teas and lattes!
We came here for Bingsu, but the real star of the show ended up being the Injeolmi Croffle. It was my first time trying a croffle, and boy was it delicious! It was so warm, flaky on the outside, and chewy (like mochi) on the inside. Was more like a croissant mochi rather than a croissant waffle in my opinion, but now we're just getting particular about the semantics. The dessert was also a very generous size for sharing. Loved the injeolmi powder and ice cream to juxtapose the warm dessert - mmm! Now, the coffee bingsu was also good -- the shaved ice was interesting because the texture was icy-dry in a still pleasant way, but it lacked the smooth milky flavour I was expecting (think Sulbing bingsus, iykyk). Still, the coffee flavour was prominent, the toppings were yummy and generous, and the size of the bingsu was perfect for sharing. I love that they have 3 different sizes for their bingsus so they are not obnoxiously big and expensive - perfect for sharing and trying more desserts! I'll definitely be back to try their other bingsu and croffle flavors!! Overall, I'd recommend coming here with a small group as they have a decent amount of indoor seating! Prices are very reasonable. Service is also very prompt and friendly.
We came here on a busy Saturday afternoon. The wait time was around 20 minutes when we got there which is actually pretty fast. By the time we left, it was around the 50 minutes mark. We were also able to grab a table. The cashier wasn't very friendly and she also messed up our order. Instead of the green grape flavour that we ordered, she gave us green tea. However, we didn't want to waste the already melting bingsu, so we kept it. The bingsu itself was delicious. The portion is very generous and I was shocked at how large the regular size was. They're able to get their ice very fine so that it melts in your mouth easily. It's also a great light alternative to ice cream. Parking can be a bit hectic since the lot is busy with the supermarket in the area as well as the other stores. However, we were able to park a little further away with no issues.
Disappointed - come all the way to try their bingsu and ensure comes in their metal cup for picture purposes. She still serves using the plastic cup as is for to go. Doesn't even offer to correct. Very disappointed - especially considering the price of shave ice. Give it 2 star for at least the taste making up for it

For the mango lovers, I think you would enjoy this because they have chunks of cheese bites (similar to cheesecake) layered in there with the mango/syrup. The Brown sugar was a bit sweet for me, but still good. I've tried a few bingsu places around the GTA and what I love about this place is the fact that they do proper layering of the snow ice, then filling ,then snow ice, then another layer of the filling you ordered. So every single bite is consistent. I've been to places where they put all the filling at the top of the bingsu and as you eat your way down the "mountain" of snow ice, you get to the slushy water and it does not taste the same as the first few bites. Again, this would be my go to bingsu place for my dessert cravings.
Cups is known for their delicious bingsu (shaved ice). I've gotta say that this place has probably become one of my fave bingsu spots in Toronto. I got their Oreo Shaved Ice and tried the Injeolmi and Cheese too. The owner was so welcoming and gave us tips about how to enjoy the shaved ice. The Breakdown: Oreo | $12 (large) | 8/10 - topped with oreo ice-cream and cookies - cubes of cheesecake, oreo pieces and ice shavings - oreo cookies but it fell to side before I could capture its beauty (merp!) The temperature is a scorching 35 degrees today. The AC of my car is not working and we needed to cool down. What is a better way to cooldown than with a large Korean shaved ice. I ordered a large injelomi (Korean rice cakes) I had it multiple times before it was always my number one choice. You have a lovely chewy texture from the rice cake and sweetness from the condensed milk. Tied together with the fluffy snowlike shaved ice, it was perfect. They also have patio seating at the time so it was very shaded for us.
Got a sweet tooth! This place has some bomb shaved ice with a number of different flavorings. I've tried the mango and the strawberry one before and they don't cheap out on the toppings. My last trip here, I ordered the strawberry bingsu and a green tea croffle (combination of a croissant and waffle). The strawberry bingsu had shaved ice at the bottom, topped off with strawberry ice cream, a generous amount of strawberry, sauce and cheese bits. It was a great treat that hit my sweets craving. We decided to also treat ourselves to a green tea croffle. Very interesting concept! The taste was great but would have been great if we got some sauce to drizzle on top as the green tea powder was making our mouths a bit dry.
First time at Cups on Valentine's Day, and it was delicious. I tried the tiramisu croffle and small black sesame bingsu. The croffle wasn't as crispy as I'd hoped for, but it was still good. According to the gentleman taking orders, injeolmi is the best one, I'll have to try that next time. The black sesame bingsu was good, but it was difficult to eat it in a cup, but that's their namesake. I'll have to order a larger size next time. The place is nice and has a few tables that fill up quickly in the evening. Their service was a little slow, but they were nice. It was just two people managing the place, so we waited patiently.
This is our go-to dessert place whenever we are close by. It never disappoints us, and everything is delicious. Service-wise, we just need to order the food, get a beeper, wait for it to get ready, and pick it up when ready. Fast and simple. The place isn't big, but there are seats available every time we go there, and the noise level isn't loud either. If you're close by and thinking of having some bingsu, definitely try the place out if you haven't. read more
Cute bingsoo place near finch station. Stumbled across it while we were looking to go to another place down the street but it was so cold we thought we would give this a try; I'm so glad I did. There are several places around but this place has a large selection of flavours. Tried the sesame flavour for the first time (I'm usually a fruit flavour girl). Our order came quickly and the staff is nice. I was pretty full from dinner next door and shared one with friends and it was the perfect portion. We were worried there won't be enough sesame, but there was two layers so fret not. It was also just the right amount of sweet, coming with sesame ice cream, red bean paste and some mochi which was soft and added good texture. Overall a nice spot for bingsoo and I want to try the strawberry one next time. read more
Great Bingsu place that's clean and lots of seating. The shaved ice was finely shaved and soft, and lots of mango toppings. Service took some time but I think it's because it takes a while to made the dessert. I got a small and it was more than enough to feed two people, I would recommend sharing a small bingsu between three. Would revisit to try their other flavours! read more

We shared the red bean bingsoo which had injeomi and rice cakes in it. It was delicious. I believe it was $14 for the large portion which was a fair size compared to other competitors. There are many seats but they do get quite busy. However, the turnover in seats is high as well. read more

This Cups location used to be my to go place for Korean Shaved Ice until they opens up in First Markham Place. With minimum seating, you could see patrons doing musical chairs and shifting all the tables around trying to fit everyone in. Don't ever come with a big group especially on weekend! Bingsu!! Injeolmi always my favourite but I am open to share any flavours! Since it takes awhile in prepping your beautifully layered and picture perfect bingsu, I said the average wait time would be at least 15 minute even when this place is not too busy. So light! So fluffy! It is well worth the wait! read more
I don't usually like to order cold desserts but the bingsu at Cups really changed my mind. Recommended by a friend, I decided to come check this store out. Inside, their menu offers a good selection of bingsus, as well as cake options as well. Most of them generally have different sizes with small being inside a glass cup. We ordered the medium tiramisu bingsu and wow, I was surprised how big it was, plus it had a slice of tiramisu cake on top. It was very creamy, plus when you dig deeper into the layers of the bingsu, it had coffee inside it as well. For myself, it was actually a lot, so I recommend sharing or get a small if you have a small appetite because I was really full. Definitely recommend coming and I want to try their other flavours in the future! PS: They only take cash and debit card read more

Yummy! Love the small size of bingsu that they offer here! Perfect single serving size! I ordered the green tea flavour - it came with green tea ice cream, red bean, almond shavings, and mochi pieces. I liked how the cup of shaved ice had green tea flavour layered in between so you weren't just eating a cup of plain ice! We also ordered a tiramisu frappuccino-style drink. It was really good as well! Some people may find it a bit too sweet if they don't have a sweet tooth. There's a good amount of tables available for eating in, but they get full quite quickly! They also offer takeout as well! read more

Cups was amazing. I wouldn't necessarily give it a 5/5 because it did become a little bit too sweet and overwhelming towards the end. I found cups pretty good tho and up there on my list!! We ordered the green tea cup, tiramisu cup, and the coffee cup. My fave was the tiramisu cup because it had such a great blend of flavours and textures that kept unfolding as I kept eating. It also came with a cake slice on top (yum!!!!). I would definitely come back. $$ - I would say it's pretty pricey for a small amount. But definitely worth the expense if you wanna try something new. Do it, why not!! read more
I came here after dinner since it was close by. It was pretty full with lots of young people. We ordered a large black sesame and small green tea bingsoo at the counter. Quite a bit of time had gone by but I tried to tell myself to be patient. You could see the 3 staff behind the counter working and not slacking off. I had to go up to the counter to ask about our bingsoo when another customer who had come in after us had already received his. The girl who took my order couldn't even remember taking my order and the other girl had to print off my order again. They had forgotten my order! They apologized and said that they would make it right away. Some more time goes by when yet another customer gets to his bingsoo before we do! I'm baffled at this point. They forgot our order, told us we would be next and then made another customer's order. I'm pretty peeved at this point. I go up to the counter again and the girl assures me that they are actually working on my order this time. The bingsoo was good but definitely not the best I've ever had. Would I come back? Friends brought us to this place and instantly fell in love with it. The tent outside somewhat reminded me of food stalls in South Korea. The bingsu's (shaved ice in a texture almost like ice cream) were amazing and the staff was extremely friendly and nice. Highly recommended! read more

Tiny hidden gem in Thornhill. My first time trying Bingsu and absolutely loved it. Came back the second time to try a different item. Owner is very friendly and helpful if you can't decide on what you'd like to get. read more

This is not my first time trying shaved ice. However, when I hear people talking about shaved ice, I always imagine people sucking on ice cubes. Is ice not water? How could water taste good? I went to zenQ and had a horrible experience so I didn't have any expectations coming in. I was here after a pd workshop with a colleague. I had suggested this place because a friend had praised it to no end. This place was packed with Asians, so we knew this place was legit. We each ordered a bowl (his was mango, mine was blueberry). They were divine. There were lots of fresh fruit in our bowls. We didn't know that the bowls were meant to be shared, so we each ordered one bowl. We instantly regretted it. Each other had a scoop of ice cream, fruit, and syrup all sitting on a bed of finely shaved ice. The ice was so finely shaven they felt like coconut flakes. Def recommend for groups! I didn't think a bowl of ice could fill me up. read more

What can go wrong with bingsu? Bingsu is Korean shaved ice. This one is topped with fresh strawberries, cheesecake pieces, strawberry sauce, condensed milk and vanilla ice cream. The ice was super fluffy and milky. The only complain for me is that it's a little too sweet. The injeolmi macaron was so good. It had little mochi inside that made it different. We also got a corn macaron which smelled like cheese. It's quite interesting as it reminded me of corn cheese. read more

Can't name a better way to handle the 30 degree weather than shaved ice on a sunny day! Bingsu is a classic Korean shaved ice dessert with a HUGE variety of toppings such as fruit, condensed milk and red beans. I got the green tea bingsu which has matcha powder, mochi, red beans, matcha ice cream and all topped with almond flakes. I've tried the mango and injeolmi which is soybean flavour. The best part is, if you're a messy eater like me, the big cup is very car-friendly so you can still dine in the car without worrying of making a big mess. read more

Amazing and welcoming environment. They allowed my furry pal to sit alongside with me, while I dined in their well maintained patio. It was a busy summer weekend, but service was still good. Owner was charismatic to all the guests attending. One of my favourite Korean dessert places yet. 10/10 would come every weekend. read more

It was relatively busy for a Friday night when I went. We both ordered mango shaved ice and green tea shaved ice (in cup sizes). The wait took awhile to come as there were many people waiting for their orders before us. When it came, we devoured it really quickly but got really full after. I thought that the mango shaved ice was supposed to come with a scoop of mango ice cream since there was green tea ice cream for the other one but it came with whipped cream so I assume they ran out??? I did check out the other photos of the dessert and it seems like it was supposed to come with the ice cream... it would be nice to be notified to why it didn't come with it. It is a great place to get dessert while in the area and a good place to try Korean shaved ice. read more

Cups is by far my favourite bingsu/shaved ice joint in all of Toronto and GTA. I've come here with different sets of friends and because of the odd times we've visited, we've lucked out on getting a table. My all-time fave is definitely the injeolmi version, but I've also had the cheesecake, oreo, black sesame, green tea, mango, green grape, coffee, red bean and tiramisu. They have a way of balancing the flavours without overwhelming you (not sweet, not milky, etc) and I love that the fluffy snow doesn't melt until you've consumed like 99% of the cup or bowl. Their customer service is also good, the people behind the counters were friendly and had a smile on their face whenever we looked over to them. I would've given it a 5 star, but this location doesn't have a washroom for their customers. read more
Been wanted to try this place for a while now and finally got the chance the other day when we were in the area. So many cool things have come from Korea the last few years as anything Korean is now in...Electronics king Samsung, Gangnam Style Psy, that boy band BTS and now Korean shaved ice Bingsu! Cups is a really popular place for Korean shaved ice and from my first impressions I can see why. The shaved ice is very light, fluffy and oh so yummy! We had both the Injeolmi (soy bean) and the Black Seasame Bingsu. Both were fantastic and delicious! They bingsu comes in basically 3 sizes with cup, small and large. Service is order and pay at the front, grab a seat and wait till they call your number. There's a bunch of other desserts like toasts etc..that looks amazing that we would love to try as well the next time we come back. The place gets packed as in a plaza with a bunch of other Korean restaurants so its a popular after dinner spot. Solid 4/5. Opa Gangnam Style!!! read more

This is the third time I've been to this Korean shaved ice place, and it's SO GOOD! They put multiple layers of the sauce/flavour in the shaved ice, so as you dig in, the taste remains the same as your first few bites! My favourite is Green Grapes, and the other flavours on the menu are really good as well. It's absolutely the best shaved ice in Toronto! In addition, the staffs are really friendly. The place is also very clean and cozy. It's a good spot to hang out with a few friends and get some really nice desserts. *thumbs up* read more
