Fried eggs with cheese, coffee and the non-alcoholic sweet water beverage
Trish K.

I came here for brunch. They do it most Sundays. My biggest complaint really was the service. Wasn't quite the best but it's a buffet so it's not the end of the world. Turns out coffee, tea and water are included in the price of the buffet. What really makes this buffet amazing is the grits bar! I like how they do eggs to order. You can do an omelette or have them fried. Brunch is a little bit lunch and a little bit breakfast which is also really nice. Lots of sausage and bacon choices. Apparently, they are known for their bread pudding. I had some delicious apple spice cake which to me was the star! They also have a biscuit/bread bar which was nice. The lunch portion was huge! They didn't mess around with the size of those pork chops. I also really enjoyed the fried chicken and waffles. This was a pleasant treat to myself. They charged a little bit more if you use a credit card but I think it seems like everybody's doing that now. It looks like they can serve large groups but I would definitely try to book that early. They do serve alcohol if you're interested. I really enjoyed it!

I'm giving 5 stars because the food is genuinely amazing. Everything tastes like heaven in your mouth. The chocolate dipped bacon cheesecake. Oh my. I don't even like bacon really, and this was spot on. I didn't get a pic of our entrees because we were too busy socializing, but here's one of our apps and dessert. The ambiance of the restaurant itself is intimate and quiet. It's a cool little place tucked away. Everyone that works there are very kind and sweet, but keep in mind that they do not hold normal restaurant hours. They are caterers for weddings and events. They are open for restaurant week and a few other occasions, as well as brunch sometimes. All in all, check this place out.

We had reservations at 11:45am and arrived maybe a minute late, and were not seated until 12pm despite there being an abundance of empty tables. The made to order omelets were included with the buffet, which was priced at about $40. My friend fell in love with the shrimp and grits and had about four servings, while another member of our party thoroughly enjoyed the bread pudding. Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere was a change from the normal restaurant scene, however I don't think I will be going again.

Let me get right to the point...BREAD PUDDING. There, I'm done. That's my whole review! Yes, the chicken and waffles is epic; yes, the roast beef grits will make you cry out in sheer joy; yes every. Single. Thing is perfect...but that BREAD PUDDING will make you come come back to this post and agree with me...in fact, I will wait right here until you go to the Sunday brunch, eat the bread pudding and come back!! Hurry up, I'm waiting!

Looove this spot!!! I remember having my baby shower here and the food was sooo good years ago. We had made reservations for Easter brunch and so glad we did. Everything was so cute from all the Easter decor with eggs hidden everywhere and bunnies and signs. They had their food stations outside in the hall and also inside once you walk in. It was all over the restaurant really which made it easy to get to and not be tied up with long lines or groups of people standing around waiting. During brunch they had a lot to choose from- mto eggs, omelettes, crepes, chicken, waffles, grits, shrimp n grits, salads, fruits, veggies. They had a lot. The dessert table had a ton of options too from cakes, cookies, brownies and my fave was the hot bread pudding, just wish they had ice cream to put on top of it. Lol. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Towards the end of our meal one of the staff members came to our table and told us that the kids can go pick out their Easter basket when they have finished eating. My kids were so excited!! It was so cute how they had Easter baskets for all the kids, inside it was filled with candy and a stuffed animal rabbit. Great restaurant, delicious food, and friendly people. Always love coming to this restaurant!!

SOOO DISAPPOINTED! To start I had a reservation a week prior than Mother's Day and they cancelled our reservation the day before for an emergency. Forward to today which is Mother's Day. My husband made a 3pm reservation, we arrive 10 mins prior and was seated around 3:05. The setting is that of a house so you are in close proximity to everyone. Buffett style setup! Immediately I was turned off by the fact that there was no hand sanitizer anywhere in sight. Thankfully I carry. Everything on the buffet was almost out and/or cold. I guess they decided that the 3 pm reservations would just eat whatever was left. UNSAT! Don't book reservations that late if the food isn't going to be replenished and up to the same standard as it was when you just opened. Service was ok, they did the best they could. I'd say that the selection of entrees were ok, however preparation is everything! Especially on a Holiday when you know you're going to be booked. Multiple people were complaining about the same things I mention above. Cold food and empty dishes! I won't return bc first impressions are huge and for the amount of money we spent vs the quality of food, it doesn't add up! I came hungry and left hungry. Mimosa flight was ok. Oh and when we asked to speak to management, they sent the one AA server over to talk to us as well as every other AA table that had a legitimate complaint. SMH

Server this time around was great. Since it had been two years, I wasn't sure if anything changed due to COVID and he explained things well. Food is still great! Still love the shrimp and grits the most and the banana pudding. The chicken for the chicken waffles is not dry either. Definitely worth combing back to.

I was here for restaurant week. I have been wanting to try this place for awhile so I am glad I finally made it. I believe that they are not an actual restaurant open 7 days a week. I believe it's more catering and maybe renting the space??? And Sunday brunch. They are right near Willis Furniture and there is parking. I liked the inside, they have a small bar area and outdoor patio. I did ask the hostess some questions but she knew nothing and said she only usually works Sundays. I was a bit disappointed in that answer. I ordered the house salad and shrimp and grits. I love that I could replace a drink for the dessert. I ordered the pineapple punch and it was delicious! I would go back just for that drink!! A little spicy, a little sweet....a perfect balance. The house salad was delicious and a good size. I got the shrimp and grits. Unfortunately it was way too salty. Almost couldn't eat it. I took home the leftovers and the next day ate a few bites but ended up throwing it away because of the saltiness. I couldn't taste anything but salt. Despite this I would definitely check them out again. There is no way this amount of salt is normal in their dishes. I do wish the hostess was able to answer my questions about the space. What if I was a prospective customer wanting information? And our waiter was very nice and helpful and answered all our questions.

Sunday brunch for 2 please Jodie is awesome this establishment is so gorgeous. I loved the ambiance for sure. Buffet style with a variety of food options and very tasty. You need to call ahead or reserve your spot because it gets crowded and they also are closed on certain Sundays due to parties or etc I loved everything I tasted from breakfast to lunch They keep the buffet nice and hot and stocked up for sure. My favorite options were the Mac and cheese, salmon and rice and all t breakfast options available (I'm the queen of breakfast/brunch) also the dessert menu was on point. I really liked the chocolate pumpkin mousse. I definitely enjoyed my time and definitely can't wait to come back for more !!! Or have a small occasion here. If you are near town center area definitely try this place out!!!

The place set up is warmly. Rather than walking in your average restaurant it was set up like a hotel lobby and was more homely. The food was good; I like that they had turkey options because some restaurants don't. There shrimp pasta, shrimp and grits, and chicken was soooo amazing. The mimosa flight was great too. The ambiance was nice, the set up was cute. The food did run out quick and took a little time to refill. The busser dropped a dirty plate extremely close to someone in my party, thank god it didn't hurt her. The bathroom didn't have paper towels or a dryer in it. Our waitress was okay, she was slow with getting drinks and water; but she was very friendly and engaging. Would go back to try again

Virginia Beach Restaurant Week was a great time to check out Sweetwater Cuisine's dine in option typically reserved for Sunday brunch. I had enjoyed them at a catering event at Steinhilbers a few months back. Sweetwater offered both lunch 2 course ($25) & dinner 3 course ($35) options this week. Since they are brunch only 1st/3rd Sunday 11-3 this was a great weekday opportunity to try lunch. The location off Virgina Beach Blvd is beside Willis furniture. Surface parking is directly in front. The area was clear of debris. The entrance is used by more than Sweetwater. The dining room is long and narrow with table and chairs, wood floors and drop ceiling. Nothing exciting, but I understand a vast improvement. The area was clean. They also have a bar just off the entry into the restaurant. An outdoor patio is available off the bar. I was greeted by a friendly female hostess who showed me to the only window table overlooking a garden. My waiter Jim provided the restaurant week menu which was the only items offered and got my drink order. First Course / honey pecan fried chicken crispers. Served with gourmet mac. The chicken was amazing balls and repeated for dinner. Second Course dessert / Sweetwater's Signature bread pudding w/ caramel sauce. To die for scrumptious! The service overall was efficient and friendly by Jim. A couple times my water glass hit the bottom. That was the only negative. Prior to departing I met the owner Jodi who thanked me for coming in. I can't wait to return for a Sunday brunch and try their signature shrimp and imported grits from Mississippi.

Downright the best cuisine ever!!! It's Southern cooking with a twist of elegance!! Been here over the years with family and it's still our favorite place to dine! The food is phenomenal, especially the braised lamb with mashers! The lamb was so tender and flavorful. It came off the bone so easily and it was the BEST lamb I've ever had, so kudos to the chef for getting it spot on!!! The bread pudding is absolutely wickedly delicious!!! It's just-melts-in-your mouth-watering DELICIOUS!!! The salmon is exquisite and flavorful as well! I also love their signature sweet water. The recipe remains a secret understandably so... The ambiance is cozy with subdued lighting and a fireplace within a bed and breakfast-like setting. Such a great place with flavorful fare sure to conjure up warm feelings of Home!!!

The first time I tried Sweetwater was at a wedding expo event and that honey pecan chicken had me wanting more! Since then, I have been coming here for a few years now, more often for their brunch which is only served the first and third Sunday of the month. With one of the best spreads around, this has been one of my go-tos for brunch. A couple of my favorites are the chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits! They also have a mimosa and bloody mary bar at $6 each, an omelet station (I've had one of the best omelets here) and a few lunch items on their buffet which isn't too bad, but I'm mainly there for the breakfast food! Sweetwater expanded again and has taken over the store that was once next door so it's a lot more spacious. The staff is courteous and attentive most times I've been. The owner is also around often as I've seen on numerous occasions, but she's not very personable. Most times her head is stuck in her laptop at the bar and doesn't even acknowledge you. Usually when I see the owner/manager on site, he/she does either one or all of these things: welcome you, check to see how you're doing, and/or thank you for visiting. All good. Thankfully the food and service make up for it.

I talked to a lot of caterers, but knew The Twisted-Fork was the right fit for us when Pam told me that with menu creativity, even a smaller budget can feel like much more - think I fell in love. It is SO rare in wedding planning to feel like someone genuinely has your best interest at heart, but that is exactly how I'd describe Pam and the Twisted-Fork team - genuine. We wanted an "elevated" cocktail-style wedding (~100 guests) instead of a traditional seated dinner/reception, which in my opinion makes good food and drinks that much more important to guests' experience - cue stress! But Pam made coordinating both catering and bartending such a breeze that it quickly became the thing I'd tell my now-husband "not even worried about that, Pam's got it covered". And she did - her team met, and exceeded, every expectation I had day-of (and I admittedly had a lot of them): Amazing, quality food that was displayed beautifully, a team that pitched in on extras without question and were so lovely to everyone, on-point bartenders that probably made at least 200 espresso martinis (sorry to their arms), and a perfectly clean kitchen afterwards! People have raved about the food and overall experience to me (shrimp cakes with lemon aioli, rhubarb bruschetta, and mini roast beef sliders were the top hits for our crew). We had 1. Bartenders that made guests come up to me and say "they see me coming and start making my drink for me" 2. A menu and flavors that felt unique and yet balanced and thoughtful to our specific event style/goals. I mean, really, what more could you ask for?? We ordered takeaway Easter brunch that needed to be pre-heated before serving. We had a choice of shrimp and grits or salmon but since we had a larger order we were able to do half and half and have the best of both worlds. Ordering and paying ahead before the deadline online was simple! If you have questions prior to ordering just call. We had certain requests and were informed over the phone it was feasible but to type it in under the special instructions box when ordering. Everything was delivered as ordered and promised! No issues at all! Once we arrived we just called and the gentleman came out promptly to our car with a cart and our Easter brunch neatly and carefully packaged in sturdy brown handled paper bags. The kind gentleman showed us the reheating instructions and explained to us briefly the timing. He took care to inform us which bag to keep horizontal so it would not spill. It was stapled shut and handed to us in the horizontal position as well. Hence to avoid confusion and prevent disastrous spillage. This was greatly appreciated! The food was neatly and carefully packaged with each aluminum sturdy container marked with its contents. Once again very smart and greatly appreciated! We just had to pop in the entire container in the oven. No fuss, no muss. Most items ranged from 10-12 minutes to re-heat some 15-20 minutes. The quality and quantity of food did not disappoint!! Pricing is definitely not cheap but the amount and quality of food is without a doubt worth every penny!! Even better was that none of us had to cook! Win win!! EVERYTHING was delicious! But the real stars were the grand marnier bread pudding, which not everyone can get bread pudding right, but this was heaven on earth for sure! The salmon was cooked perfectly. It was flavorful and a good size. The shrimp and andouille sausage shrimp and grits were hearty and delightful! Crab cakes with aioli.. slap me happy with seafood -very good! The mushroom quiche with goat cheese was another big hit along with the breakfast foods of honey baked ham with pineapples and pecan and applewood bacon. This also was delicious. On the far back wall was where they had the buffet style dinner. They had roasted potatoes, rice pilaf, and asparagus for the sides. The potatoes and asparagus were perfectly seasoned and cooked. I didn't feel the same for the rice. It was completely tasteless and left me disappointed. The main entrees were roasted sirloin with horseradish sauce and a pepper crusted salmon with mango cilantro. The sirloin was not really hot and also not seasoned well enough. The sauce was delicious though. The salmon was picturesque. It looked like it was out of a cooking magazine, and I wanted to love this so much buuuut my salmon was just a tad undercooked. I want to make this clear: everyone I talked to enjoyed their meal. I had someone tell me their salmon was over cooked. I had another loved their roast. And another dislike it as much as I did.
