It still wasn't healing. Went to Dr. Swenson and showed him the xray. He noticed right away that it was probably from another factor, gave me meds and I was good to go in three days. It took me going to ANOTHER podiatrist years later to realize how unkind Dr. Swenson was. I was so afraid to get my plantar fasciitis shot in the bottom of my foot & was panicking a bit. I was asking the doctor for some reassurance and he sternly said: listen, you either do this, or you don't. I don't have time for that back and forth (this is not verbatim, but it was along these lines). I want to say the doctor even compared me to his son who could handle it better than I could. THE BEST !!! I'm literally in my car about to drive home from a 10:30 am appointment (it's now 10:55). In that timeframe I had an evaluation and a solution to a current foot (tendinitis) problem. A quick shot of cortisone (doctor S is soooo gentle and doesn't send a nurse in to administer the shot) and I'm walking happily to my vehicle. The office is located next to spring valley hospital. It's clean, safe, has plenty of parking. Note: we are seniors with medical conditions that are covered and are entitled to maintenance visits through Medicare. Some conditions that qualify: diabetics, neuropathy, heart issues. This visit was an absolute waste of time and a risk to my health. I came in expecting proper treatment, only to be met with sarcasm, complaints, and complete neglect of my medical concerns. Instead of addressing my health during my 04/11/2025 visit, the podiatrist used my appointment to complain about a missed visit on 04/10/2025 and even dragged up one from 2021--FOUR YEARS AGO. If there are no penalties for missed appointments, why waste time on this? As a healthcare provider, his priority should have been my current health issues, not rehashing irrelevant grievances. I am at risk every day that I am not receiving proper treatment. My A1C is 15.4, I have six damaged toenails--two of which are coming off and causing severe pain--and my big toe has purple, scabby skin with a blackened cuticle. These are serious concerns, especially for someone with diabetes. He should have done his job and provided care, but he chose to do nothing. No treatment, no prescription for pain, nothing. It seems that because it's his practice, he believes he can provide below-standard treatment if he chooses to. That is unacceptable. Patients deserve care, not sarcastic remarks, pushback, and negligence. Because of his unprofessional behavior and failure to treat my issues, I will be reporting this to the Medical Board, the Attorney General's Office, the FTC, BBB, Medicaid, and my insurance carrier. His actions were not just unprofessional--they were harmful and fraudulent. I would have preferred to compliment the podiatrist had he given me a hint of class and professionalism. Now I just feel sorry for the rest of his Beautiful African patients, dealing with this garbage! You have to be on the NEXT LEVEL OF STUPIDITY to lose a patient because of your own ignorance! If one visit is 15 minutes and if Medicaid is paying lets say, $300, YOU LOST A LOT WHEN YOU LOST ME AS A PATIENT. Some have to work a full day to reach $300 which I had to work 24 hours just to get $360 in a day but he got it in 15 minutes for DOING NO WORK. Right now the medical field IS FILLED WITH FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES AND HEALTH INSURANCE ABUSE. They look forward to African Americans TO NOT COMPLAIN. They take our kindness FOR WEAK! I filled out my paperwork and was immediately brought back to my room where informed the nurse what problems I was experiencing. I asked to use the restroom afterwards and when I came back Dr Swenson immediately greeted me and away we went! We agreed to take care of the two ingrowns on my left foot and within minutes I was numbed and the procedure was happening. I would give him a 0 if I could. I went to him for a bunionectomy. I had canceled a couple of times within the time frame. I'd forgotten my blood work, and he was furious. He told me, "You know, I think you need to find another surgeon!" But, you can always come back for a cortisone shot. So I found a much better surgeon. This surgeon actually checked checked to see if I had RA or osteoporosis. As a matter of fact, I have RA. My both surgeries went perfectly. My husband also saw him before me. He also needed surgery and he blew him off also. This guy must be good at orthotics and ingrown toenails. If you're planning on getting surgery, go to someone who is qualified in surgery. My husband also had his surgery done by the same surgeon that I had. He was more than willing to help us out. I can't believe so many people give him high remarks. Went for a consult with Dr. Swenson today about my "flat feet". Before a couple of weeks ago, I had never even heard of flat feet(a.k.a collapsed arches, overpronation,pes planus) until my physical therapist said it might be contributing to my knee pain. I took it upon myself to make an appointment with Dr. Swenson and first of all, scheduling was really easy and they were very accommodating to my requested date and time. The front desk staff is very friendly and so is the Dr. My appointment ran on time and was quick, yet thorough. I did not feel rushed at all and was able to ask all the questions I wanted. The doctor did not try to sell me on anything for my issue, like custom orthodics (he said I didn`t really need them and that over the counter would be fine as long as they had structure). I really appreciate when doctors don`t try to sell you on some shizz you do not need. I ended up buying some inserts from the office(which were waaaaay less than custom and comparable to over the counter) to get myself started on the shoe insert life, but I did not feel like I had to. Overall, this was a positive Las Vegas doctor experience. I have had hits and misses in this town, but I`ve learned if you do a bit of research on the doctors and read some reviews, you can find good medical care here. Don`t hesitate to make an appointment with this office if you had foot and/or ankle woes. read more
