Today I'm coming to use the sauna to reap the benefits of sweat. I came in early to avoid the days crowd. I'm impressed with the cleanliness, very clear instructions and everything in its place. The cleaning crew was everywhere but out of members way, which is impressive considering the number of members coming and going. The steam sauna is my favorite, reminding me of a few I used in Norway and Sweden. I have previously used dry heat saunas, but I find I enjoy the steam.

I appreciate how accommodating they are. There are so many swim instructors/staff working. The staff are very warm and caring. There is a huge window/seating area to see the entire pool and my child feels reassured since he can easily see us. The facility is very clean and has many changing rooms, restrooms, hair dryers, etc. The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly. My almost 4 year old has been going to weekly classes for the past few months. He was very scared of the water before, but since starting the classes he is less fearful and seems to enjoy it now. Depending on the day and level, there could be anywhere from 1-4 kids in a class. Although, I wish they would cap the class to 3 kids so there is more time in the water, I still think he is learning a lot. After relocating to Johns Creek, we've attended this location for the past three weeks--and unfortunately, the quality has not matched what we previously experienced. The facility is noticeably outdated, with rusted benches in ALL of the changing stalls--something I find concerning, especially with my child barefoot in those areas. The amenities also feel neglected. The same worn coloring sheets have been out for weeks, and the provided markers don't work. These may seem like small details, but they matter when creating a welcoming environment for kids. At Briarcliff, the staff went the extra mile they had connect 4, cornhole and bubble machines going on the Entry and Exit of Class they even gifted the kids Ballons and sickers after EACH SESSION. My biggest concern is the lack of consistency in swim instructors. My son has had a different instructor EVERY session, making it difficult for anyone to assess his progress accurately. He's been with Big Blue since July 2024 and was thriving--yet here, they wanted to demote him back to the beginner class based on a single instructor's brief interaction. One instructor, in particular, was overly aggressive and even ripped a bandage from my son's finger during class without knowing what was underneath--an inappropriate and careless action, especially not knowing my son's sensitivity. To make matters worse, I was told I'd need to get in the water and teach my son the Bright 1 material MYSELF. If that's the expectation, I might as well be the instructor I find that request unacceptable due to the fact that I have spend over thousands of dollars with this company. I've since WITHDRAWN my son from this location, and he is now happily enrolled at Aqua TOTS. Based on our experience, I would NEVER recommend the Johns Creek location to other families.

After the 1st class I was told my 2.5 year old son needs to listen better. Now of course, any 2.5 year old probably needs to listen better, and lord knows my son does, but considering he sat on the edge of the pool the entire class waiting until he was told what to do was impressive by itself. But no worries, I was working with him to listen to his teacher better. Yeah he splashed the water some and blew bubbles while waiting his turn, but come on. THEN to be asked on the 2nd day of class if he is non-verbal because he "only listens to her sometimes and only responds sometimes" was the final straw for me. He's 2 years old and excited to be at the pool. No he's not non-verbal, he's taking it all in and wants to play. He doesn't respond to everything you say and listen to you perfectly? HE'S ONLY MET YOU TWICE, HE HASN'T EVEN WARMED UP TO YOU YET! No 2 year old is ever going to listen to everything you tell them or do exactly what you say! Especially when he's in the same class as 3, 4 and 5 year olds. You can't hold him to the same standard. That's a huge age difference. And he was not being disobedient because I would've surely intervened. Terrible experience and will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone. And worst part is, not a single phone call from management to understand what happened or apologize.

As of this morning, this is the 3rd time in less than a month where the person who is supposed to…read moreopen the gym at 5am has not shown up on time. The first incident occurred about 3 1/2 weeks ago and someone didn't show up until 5:25. The second occurrence happened about a week ago and they arrived at 5:08. And now this morning it is 5:08 and nobody is here yet again. This is completely unacceptable and throws off everyone's day who count on a full morning workout prior to starting their work day. Seems to me they either need to find better help but in order to do that, probably pay more than $10/hour or whatever they are currently paying. Once I can understand, happening twice ok maybe a little issue, but the fact this happened a 3rd time tells me a change needs to be made. UPDATE: it is now 5:27am and STILL nobody is here and the gym has not opened yet.

I saw a mishap in the sauna at Onelife Windermere Pkwy on 2/3/2025. As usual, there were two other…read moreladies in the sauna when I entered the sauna post-workout. They left soon after I entered. A few minutes later, I realized the sauna was becoming excessively hot. When I looked up, I noticed that the thermostat had been covered with a napkin-like material. The sign on the door clearly states, "Do not cover the thermostat," which made me feel uneasy, so I decided to step out to inform the front desk. As I opened the door, the sauna's sprinklers suddenly activated, startling me, and moments later, the fire alarm went off. I did not find anybody at the front desk. Only one rep was doing a sales pitch on the table next to the front desk. He didn't seem bothered by the fire alarm and continued as normal. I had to interrupt him to tell that the sauna had an issue. The next day, I called the gym manager to ask about their safety protocols and what measures they planned to implement to prevent this from happening again. To my surprise, the manager stated that there were no plans to address the issue, insisting that the existing sign on the door was sufficient. When I raised concerns about customer safety--such as what could happen if the sprinklers failed or were tampered with just like the thermostat--the manager dismissively responded that they had no intention of taking any further action. He curtly stated, "It doesn't matter."
