*WATCH YOUR PAY PAL* We completed about 2 months of regular classes. As a requirement for these classes you have to set up auto draft. When this is set up, Anitra Fulton the owner, will tell you that these will automatically stop at the end of the season. When the season was over, I was charged $99 for another month (this was April 2023). I immediately reached out to Anitra for a refund with no response. I made a dispute with PayPal to get my money back and she messaged me asking to stop the dispute as it would mess up her loan for the new facility & she stated that she was going to send a refund (I know I never should have believed her, but here we are). It is now mid August 2023 and I still haven't received a refund. I have asked multiple times with no response. So beware! read more

We enjoyed SwimFanatics , my son loved his swim coach Ms. Katie. We started at the Marriott which is where we signed up for. The only thing that happened was we got switched to Linley Pool. It was a tad disappointing since the commute was 35 mins from our house. The communication could improve, but over all the coaches are fantastic and wonderful with the children. read more

Swim Fanatics gave my children the confidence to swim safely and enjoy the water. Anitra worked with both of my boys starting at the ages of 3 and 1, and while my children had a rocky start at the beginning getting used to swimming independently, they both enjoyed coming to lessons each week. The instructors are in the water with the children at all times, and Anitra trains her instructors to be firm and encouraging with each child to meet them where they are in skill level. As a parent, it is important to allow the instructors to do what they are trained to do and trust them when they tell you your child is ready for the next level. I love that Anitra always has an open door communication policy, and any time I had concerns with my children, she addressed them in a friendly, professional manner. Anitra is very knowledgeable and conscientious about each child's specific needs whether they are scared of the water or have other special needs/health issues that might affect the way they approach the water. Talk with her and explain your situation with her; she will work with you to help your child be successful. We also experienced SFSC swim team for one year, and enjoyed the experience very much. Coach Sasha and Gus were amazing in the water with my son, and I loved that they were in the water demonstrating the swim strokes and continued to encourage him when he got frustrated. They made swim team fun and exciting for a newbie. After leaving to pursue other interests, and trying summer swim team at another local, well known club, I was sorely disappointed to see what we were missing out on by not swimming with SFSC swim team any longer. These instructors care about your kids and actually want them to be successful. It's not a just another job for them. You will be hard pressed to find another high quality, dynamic swimming program in Greensboro. read more

We have been with Swim Fanatics for almost six years. My boys started off with lessons and have moved up to be on the swim team. We tried several other programs initially, and were displeased with them all. My oldest was 6 at the time, very anxious about the water, and other programs weren't willing/able to deal with that at his age. Anitra was amazing with him from the start. She is very firm, but I believe with kids in or around water, that is necessary. He cried plenty in the beginning but over time adjusted. It's part of the process. My younger son started at 3. He is a very laid back kid and had lessons with several teachers over the years, all of which were wonderful. My older son being a little more challenging only ever took lessons with Anitra - she is excellent at helping kids that may present behavior or sensory issues. I know she also works with all sorts of disabilities and wants every child to be able to get in the water. For the last several years my boys have been on the swim team. I can not say enough wonderful things about Sasha and Gus. Sasha (part owner of SFSC and head of the team) is a great mix of firm, technical, encouraging, fun, and caring. There was a time in the beginning when I came to him to thank him for allowing my oldest to continue - we had been asked to not return to several programs (non swim related) at the time and I was always impressed that they not only put up with him but enjoyed him! Now he is dedicated, hard working, very cooperative, and always shows the coaches respect - I believe we owe those traits to his being on the swim team. The coaches are frequently in the pool with the kids. The older level teens often pair with younger kids on the team and help out. I love the "One Team" mentality that brings them all together. At meets they are all very supportive of one another. Swim is a sport that requires as many days/hours in the pool as possible. We are at the pool usually four days a week. We drive almost an hour to get there. I have spent many many countless hours watching my kids learn to swim then work on perfecting technique and learning to compete. I recommend Swim Fanatics to everyone I know, whether for lessons, or for team, and I am absolutely confident that it is a wonderful program. For our family it has been a perfect fit. read more

We have been a Swim Fanatics family for over six years. We started with lessons when my children were 1 and 3. My daughter has always been happy in the water, but my son was reluctant. Anitra has a magic touch with young children in the water. She made it so fun for both my children. Living in North Carolina with so many opportunities for water recreation, it's essential that children know how to swim and be safe around water (in my opinion.) After lessons with Anitra, my kids had a solid foundation of swimming and water safety skills. We took a long break from Swim Fanatics, during which time my kids participated in the swim team at our local swim and tennis club. After a couple years of that, we decided to register my son for the swim team at Swim Fanatics where he swims year-round. In the past year, he has made tremendous improvement in all his strokes. He is learning great technique, but at the same time, he has a blast. His coach is Gus, and Gus has a way with grade-school kids. He really connects with them and keeps it fun while developing their skills. My daughter has now joined the swim team and she really enjoys it as well. I am also very satisfied with the business side of things. Anitra and Sasha are great communicators. They provide the information I need in a timely manner. We are happy with the facility (Greensboro College). Also, I really appreciate that the coaches do want to keep it fun and not push my kids beyond their capabilities. They are still in grade-school and if it's not fun, why do it? I feel very comfortable with a high recommendation for Swim Fanatics for kids of all ages. read more

Coach Sasha is an amazing coach and motivator! When my daughter was considering joining the team, I asked some other parents how they felt about coach Sasha. All responses were positive, but the one that stuck out was the parent who said if your kid has a goal, he will do everything he can to help them meet it. Swim Fanatics - Swimming Lessons/Schools Near Me - Greensboro, North Carolina

I wish I could give Swim Fanatics a higher score, I really do. We registered our two boys, ages 1 and 2, last summer for the sessions in which parents do not get in the water. This was because we wanted both the boys to have swimming lessons, but unless we did the lessons on the weekend, I was the only parent able to be present. The class we signed up for was supposed to be indoors, in a pool. It was not - it was at a large community pool that was extremely crowded. No area was sectioned off for the swimming lessons so gradeschoolers were running (and swimming) wildly around, jumping in the pool and "cannonballing" next to the little kids. The lessons were held during open swim time, and some of the families that were at the pool were using language we would never expose our kids to at this age - cursing at children, etc. One day an entire daycamp was in the pool with minimal supervision. The teacher seemed nice, but the kids spent a lot of time sitting on the wall. My one year old was in a class with one other child, so he was only on the wall about half the time. My two year old was in a class with 3 other children though, as old as age 4. He sat on the wall over 75% of the time (we timed it). I understand that the teacher needed to have the kids she is not currently working with in a safe place, but it is hard to see little children who were so excited about swimming, sitting on the wall for so long. My children did not like the lessons. My one year old cried the entire he was in the pool. My two year old cried from the time we arrived at the pool and he knew where he was going. These are little boys that had been in parent-tot swim classes previously and loved being in the pool. We removed our boys after 3 lessons. I did email Anitra about my concerns. I think eventually the location was changed but it was after we had left. We were staying in a hotel on vacation about a month after stopping the swimming classes and we could not get our 2 year old to go into the pool room, let alone into the pool. He screamed, cried, and was more scared than I have seen him about anything. The following month we traveled again and by going into the pool every day for a week with him, we were finally able to get him back in the water, albeit clinging to whoever was holding him. This past December he got in the pool in Florida and had a blast, the way he used to before the experience with Swim Fanatics. We plan to do another round of parent-tot lessons this winter and spring (monopolizing our Saturdays) and start non-parent associated lessons for him when he turns 3. We will do the same with our younger child. The whole situation was very unfortunate. We were very annoyed that the location was changed after we had been told where classes would be. We were angry that our children would be put in a situation with so many older children with inappropriate language and dangerous behavior. We were extremely disappointed that our boys spent so much time on the wall. Most of all, we were saddened because their previous love for water turned into fear. I suspect this company may be ok for parent-tot classes for little children, or maybe even for older kids. I do NOT think that their classes for toddlers without parents are good and I strongly caution anyone against registering for one. Further, I would urge any family to be very careful regarding the location of classes. Given our negative experience and the amount of money it cost us (we were not offered any refunds) I would also urge you to consider other options for swimming lessons very carefully before deciding on this company. read more

My youngest (particularly anxious about water) was tremendously benefitted by the relationship she built with Anitra starting at age 1 for over two years of lessons.
