I was fed up and wanted them to actually learn this skill, so we did a month long intensive with Maria with them each having back to back private lessons for three days a week for a month. At the end of it, they had overcome some VERY profound water fear and could confidently swim across a pool, dive for sinking toys, and jump in/swim to a wall and climb out independently. Fast forward to today, and he's now a swim coach here and absolutely loves it. There's something really special about seeing things come full circle. He remembered his experience here so fondly that he decided to apply for a job, and now he's thriving in a place that once helped him grow and build confidence in the water. The environment here has always been welcoming and family-focused, and it's clear they continue to create positive experiences for both kids and staff. It was hard for me…read moreto perceive that a not even two-year-old could actually float and swim, but we saw the value. Definitely want to make sure that our child is safe. It was helpful that Coach Brad was willing to let us go poolside and talk to the other parents about their experiences and see them in action. It's just a very open, friendly environment. Right away, we just saw Coach Brad teaching ISR, and we were just amazed. Our son picked it up pretty quick and started to love the water and helped us to demystify myths. For example, how using floaties for your kids actually teaches them how to drown faster, which we didn't think about but we learned here. In just six weeks, our toddler loves the water and doesn't need floaties, and now we feel confident that, bringing him to any body of water, he's gonna be good and we're having fun with him. They even cried longer than average throughout their first sessions. Despite the tears, it was amazing to see how quickly they learned and developed new skills. He works so well with kids and tailors each session to their individual needs, while also building a relationship with them and making lessons enjoyable. Our 5 year old is so confident in the water now and learning traditional strokes, and our little one has even started asking to swim. We can't say enough good things about Coach Brad and recommend him whenever anyone asks us about swim lessons. Coach Brande is direct and makes it the goal of her quick and efficient lessons: the kid will learn to swim. Both my kids are perhaps on the "older" side in regards to learning how to swim (8 and 10), one being extremely terrified of the floating feeling. By the end of our session, both of my kids are confident in breathing while keeping their head underwater and swimming. I managed to get Coach Brande's info from parents at my local elementary school and will continue to do the same by passing this along to any other parents looking to get their child(ren) water safety ready. Now: do they offer an adult version of this?????

Before starting the swim class, my 6 yr old son would cry whenever his face got under water. But Day of 1 of swim class, he couldn't stop saying how much he loved Coach Brande & wished he could be in the swim class forever. Just 2nd day of swim class, he was floating a bit by himself with his face under the water. By 3rd day, he was diving under water to get the rings on the floor of the pool. Coach Brande's skills in teaching kids how to swim is so effective and she makes it fun for the kids too. I am so thankful for her teaching my kid a life-saving skill.
